former college swimmer, current triathlete. i swim in these, because i don't like people knowing that my junk has sideburns.
I think this kind of swimsuit is a good choice. Actually they make some that are even a little longer which I think look better than a regular Speedo and are still conducive to swimming laps.0 -
So, what won??0

Some men can rock them.

I grew up as a swimmer so I've always thought Speedos were normal sports-wear - board shorts etc. are for 'playing' in the water IMO, not training. So I wouldn't have a problem with guys of whatever size wearing them for workouts. I generally try to operate in a judgement-free zone though, because people could certainly judge ME much harsher than I could judge them lol.0

I don't care what you wear to the gym. It's not like I'm there to meet people.0

I don't care, quite honestly. I'm concentrating on my own thing anyway. If a Speedo is better for you to swim in, do your thang.0

No. Never. Ever. Ever. On anyone. I don't care if you have an 8 pack. No. Never.
Board shorts all the way.

OK I feel that I should comment seeing as I spend a great chunk of my life at a pool. If you're serious about swimming you will naturally gravitate towards budgie smugglers because board shorts will just get in your way, mess up your technique. If you're in the pool just for a play / cool down, then it's board shorts.0

^ Yup. I would kill my S.O. if he wore them (lol), but I don't look at anyone else.0 -

Agreed. Wear what works best, not what is the most stylish. I find board shorts, while definitely the right choice for the beach or the water park, tend to bunch up, get in the way, add a lot of drag, and don't really stay on very well when swimming laps. I think it's a pretty safe bet most would rather see me in a swim brief than unintentionally skinny dipping.0
