    W2D2 complete!

Today was a little harder due to the wind but still managed. It was funnny on my last set to run for 1.5mins I really had to push myself to run it all and then when I was doing my 5 min cool down walk I felt like running a bit more so I did! lol

Well hope everyone has a good day!
  • I did not get to do my Week 4 Day 1 yesterday....but I will today! Crossing fingers X:smile:

Hi, I hope everybody is doing well!

I completed week 2 today. I felt fine, but during the last weeks my left knee has been hurting. Everytime it happens it's just for a moment, then it's gone. There seem to be special movements like squats and lunges that trigger the pain (and most times I avoid them), but today it also happened when I got of the treadmill. I really won't give up C25K, I hope I can keep doing this. Most doctors here tell you that as a severely overweight person you should rather walk than run, but I wanted to do it so badly...I just hope my body gets used to it.

Is anybody else having joints problems? How are you dealing with it?

    Hi all,

I managed to complete Week 6 Day 1. It was so tough because it was the first time I did outside rather than the gym's treadmill. It certainly was a struggle and slightly discouraging because I got tired more easily during it.

Now I'm starting to think, can I really achieve 5K when I'm getting out of breath halfway through and with my ongoing high blood pressure??

    I'm finding it really difficult....

w2 d2 done! seems like this week is easier than last :)
  • Ok...I haven't done a thing this week. MN here and get tired easily. So, I will push myself to and get a run/walk in before the Saints game kickoff!

    Gotta have a goal! :-)

anybody out there??? no one is posting.
  • I'm here..been busy. I officiated a triathlon last Sunday...made me want to get back to riding my bike. So today I had a day off and went to the lakes and rode for about 40 mins. It was nice. The weather is starting to cooperate. I hope to incorporate the run walk one day and the bike the next.

    How is everyone doing?

I actually started on 8/23 but just now seeing this thread.

I did Week 4 Day 1 on Monday; i am on a treadmill and Walk at 4.5 and Run at 7.5 normally but for Monday I did 4.0 and 7.0

I will try and do 4.5 and 7.5 in the morning.

    I lied! :)

I told myself not to punk out and go on to week 5 day 1 and I did and completed it this morning. I actually did better than I thought I would.

I plan to hit my first real 5k road race on 11/13

Good job! I completed week 3 day 2 last night. I struggled a little bc I was jogging the indoor track at the YMCA and it was crowded. That kind of messes up my concentration.

I am currently using the treadmill so I can keep pace. My daughter wants me to go running this weekend on a track or road so that will help me gauge a bit.

Week 5 day 2 a bust - I did not even look at the program when I started it and thought Week 5 day 2 was going to be like Week 5 day 1 like all the other weeks were. Today they wanted an 8 minute followed by a 5 minute walk then another 8 minute run. I got past the first 8 minute run and then on the 2nd I had to break it in half and took a minute walk between 3.5 and 4.5 of the 2nd 8 minutes. Friday they want a 20 minute non-stop. That should be interesting. - What is funny is I have went 2 hours before non-stop on the elliptical and not be as wore out as I am trying this. I am starting to hate Wednesday like most people hate Mondays.

W5D3 Complete! - The only change I made was to do it with no incline at all. In the end, I did the warm up walk then the 20 then ran through the cool down as well before doing a cool down afterwards. I ended up with 4.1 miles!

AWESOME Umpire!!!! way to not give up and push through. i know you've got to feel good about accomplishing that 20 min run!
i have made some progress too.... i did not do w3 d3 yesterday bc i wanted to see if i could jog a mile without stopping. i did! in 10 minutes!! this is the second time in my adult life (i'm 28) that i have jogged a mile without walking. so the reason i did that was bc there is a 5k and a 1 mile run my company is holding oct 30. i would love to do the 5k but i just dont think i am ready. but i am going to sign up to do the mile. i am going to start week 4 sat bc i feel like i have got week 3 mastered. i cant wait to try week 5!

I really need to. Last night I ran a half mile on the road and got tired pretty quick compared to the treadmill.

I need to do more road work to make sure I am ready.

i feel the same way. i have almost been avoiding the outdoors bc i know it is harder. at the gym i know exactly how far i have gone and how much more i have to go which has been a plus up until know. the outdoor track i go to is a half mile so now that i am jogging 1/2 mile i dont really have an excuse. i never have been good at walking or running on the treadmill. i seem to trip over my feet a lot. im not a graceful person and im actually surprised i have not sprained an ankle yet!!! knock on wood!
