Are you a douche if you work out on Thanksgiving?

I have a couple times worked out on a major holiday but as I got older I have realized just to relax and enjoy yourself. Watch football and eat like Artie Lang at an all you can eat buffet. And the next day double up on your workout.

which begs the question, "what about on non-holiday days?"0

im going to the gym thursday morning, like i do any other thursday morning.
i am a bit of a douche.
so, yes......yes you are.0 -
I'm running 10 miles because I am on a training plan for a half marathon. I enjoy running, I don't feel like i should cut it out just because it's not politically correct to work out on Thanksgiving.
It certainly wouldn't hurt a lot of people I know to hit the pavement beforehand, just sayin'.0 -
lolwut?0

Gonna be working out, just bodyweight at home cuz our gym is closed weds/thurs/fri.0

What about it is douchey? If your gym is open on Thanksgiving, they employees are there working whether or not you work out.0

If you post that you are working out on facebook to shame those that aren't working out, then you're a douche. If you just go work out, then no.
I'm doing a 10k run that morning, a "turkey trot", and I might 'check-in' on facebook, so, I'm a douche too.0 -
I'm gonna hit up an early cardio session before I head to my parents and eat like a fat kid. Cannot wait!0
-
I'd work out on Christmas if the gym/swimming pool was open later that night.
Not sure how working out on certain days could qualify one as a douche!!0 -
Call me douchy then. Planning on either Turbo Fire cardio or yoga on Thursday lol0
-
I once drove to my gym for a 6:30 am Spin class on New Year's Day... it was cancelled.
I say workout if you want to!0 -
You are a douche if you are not working out..:P0

Only a douche in the eyes of someone who doesnt workout any other day either.0

Thursday is a lifting day, so I'll be working out on Thanksgiving. No one else in the family will even be awake, so my actions won't impact them in any way shape or form anyway.
Wednesday is a running day, so I'll also be running on Christmas day. 5.5 mile interval run if memory serves. Same rationale.
And no, I don't see why it would make anyone a douche.0 -
Ahhhhhhhhh NO! Your a douche if you don't!! Lol just kidding! Do whichever makes you happy! I plan to burn it up!0
-
Then call me douche; I plan on doing my normal morning workout and a 5k Turkey Trot. Guess that's douching it up!0
-
I will be hitting the gym early Thursday morning before I become a gluttonous pig starting at about 10AM.0

It's a workout day for me, already scheduled, so yeah, I'm working out Thursday morning, and no, I'm not a douche. :drinker:0

My gym opens at 7am Thanksgiving day. I plan on being there at 7am. I might be a bit douch-ey, who knows.0

I'll be doubling my normal workout on Thanksgiving/Christmas to account for things I won't be able to log accurately (food other people make) and even more so on New Years to account for the drinks I'm too drunk to remember having. If that makes me a douche, I don't even care.0

^^^ Me too0 -
I'm hoping that working out on Thanksgiving will help me to keep focused once the food is in front of my fat face. :happy:0

Running on Thursday morning, before I go shopping-so no, not a douche for working out, yes a douche for shopping and making people work on Thanksgiving. In my defense the store I'm going to is normally open 24 hours a day and it's business as usual for them (that's my justification and I'm sticking to it!).0

I'm running a local Turkey Trot in my inlaw's hometown. It's a charity race so that part isn't douchey. And I'll be home well in time to help with all the cooking and cleaning so that's not douchey. But I will, probably, feel a little self-righteous so maybe just a little douchey.0

I work out on xmas day too0

My Thanksgiving is tomorrow because my husband has duty on Thursday. I plan to run early in the morning before anyone else is up. As for actual Thanksgiving I'll be alone, and I'll be lifting in my spare room. If Christmas falls on a workout day I'll workout on Christmas as well.
I could see an issue if you cut out in the middle of dinner to go workout. Otherwise I don't know why it would make a difference.0 -

Your turkey trot is twice as long as mine...(although I learned earlier today that there are over 4000 runners in it).
Unrelated fun fact: My actual turkey we're cooking that day for our family of six is 26 pounds.0 -

Are you sure it's a Turkey!? Holy moly....0 -
I'm doing two sessions tomorrow (Wednesday), a long walk on T-day, and then probably a double session on friday.0
