I feel quite ashamed now after reading this. I'm always moaning about something. But I also feel very inspired. I love to read stories like this. (obviously not the hurt or pain that people go through but the courage and hope that they have.) Makes me realise how lucky I am and how much I have to be thankful for. You have done an amazing job and have a wonderful spirit. Well done to you. I'm sure you'll have no problem reaching your goal weight. Thank you for posting.

You are one amazing and inspiring person. Thank you for sharing your story for the world to read.. but ya know what, if you can do it, so can we!!!! Congratulations!

Thank you. Yes!! That is EXACTLY it! ANYONE is capable of overcoming such great feats. I think if people realized how much power they really had, the entire world would be changed. The key is just getting people to realize that they really are limitless.

Your story is truly amazing. I am so incredibly glad to hear that your ovarian cancer was caught before it spread! My grandma died from ovarian cancer after years of fighting it. She also had many visits to the doctors and was essentially brushed aside - told that her symptoms were just things like gastric upset and asthma. It really upsets me that women's health is so disregarded by many doctors! We have to be our own advocates and not give up when something is clearly wrong (my public service announcement for the day).

Good job on not giving u,p and going on to make this a success story! I'll be rooting for you on those last 59 pounds :D

Very sorry to hear about your Grandma. =( I completely agree with you. That was one of those things that still makes me a little bitter about my own story -- how long I went undiagnosed & how long I suffered. If only I had had ONE doctor (out of nearly a hundred doctors that I had seen while I was sick for years) that would have actually just LISTENED to me, I could have been spared a lot of grief. How hard is it to figure out that something is wrong with the lady parts when I told them how irregular my period was?

I think it's important to not just seek a second opinion, but also to seek your own opinion and value that one the most. You know your body better than anyone else. If you think something is wrong, despite what the tests and doctors are saying, then you should be up their behinds. I hate it say it, but most doctors are overpaid and lazy. Not that that is the case with ALL doctors. (I will forever be grateful to the doctor who saved my life.)

Thank you for sharing your history and what you have overcome. It is like you climbed Mt. Everest with out any help or oxygen; just the pure will to survive. Congratulations on your weight loss and positive attitude.

It certainly feels like I did! Actually, that's something that is on my ever-growing bucket list: Climb to the top of a large mountain!

Wow what an amazing story. I feel like an emotional wreck just reading it. I also lost my father to cancer at 53 and I went to a very bad place. I can't even start to imagine how much of a strong person you are to be able to get through what you have.

I wish you all the happiness and success in the world xx

*hugs* Sorry to hear about your Dad!

This might sound a bit strange, but when I go for my runs I can feel my Dad and Grandma's love and energy surround me -- driving me forward, pushing me to go faster and farther. Haha, I cry a lot when I run. Happy tears, of course. I hope you can come (or have come) to a place where you can feel him around you, giving you strength.

Wow... that is truly amazing and you have done such a FANTASTIC job! Your pics really show the change. But I have a question.... it's strange that EVERY SINGLE PERSON in your immediate family has had cancer.... have you ever thought of having your home checked or even doing research on your area to find out what is going on? That just seems so off to me. Good luck on your future endeavors and hopefully you stay in the clear!

We've moved around a lot throughout the years, so that would be impossible to tell. I didn't mention this in the main post, but I actually have an aunt on both sides that had breast cancer as well. Not sure if it's genetics or just fate. Guess we'll never know. I do have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (my hormonal imbalance is associated with that -- estrogen dominance, progesterone deficient). I actually have quite a lot of genetic mutations. I think environmental toxins may have something to do with it as well.

I almost cried reading your story - how much bad luck can one woman have? And yet you strived through it all. You're amazing, and should be damn proud of yourself. Sorry about your Dad and Grandma, but congratulations on your accomplishment, it's something few would survive. I'd like to hug you so much, but the internet only allows virtual hugging, so... *hugs* Oh, and you're like SUPER pretty, especially when you're smiling - keep it up, girl! Good luck!

I still struggle emotionally and mentally with everything I've gone through. I've been through a lot of intensely traumatic situations. I feel angry about some things still. Especially about how no one believed I was sick. At the same time, I am so grateful for all that I've been through. Before my Dad died and before I got sick, I took life for granted. My suffering has opened my eyes to how beautiful and precious this experience called 'life' really is.

Sometimes I'm inclined to say, "I wouldn't wish this upon my worst enemy", but then I'd just have to retract that statement. I wish EVERYONE could have an experience like this. Because with the way that I feel now... EVERYONE should feel this way.

Wow, what an inspirational story, well done you for being so strong and getting your life back on track.
My dad died from cancer aged 40, when I was 15. He was fobbed off by doctors for years and got told to go home and take painkillers. It is a shame that sometimes we have to go through such horrible things to realize how precious our lives are.

After months of visiting specialists for strange periods I have been told I have PCOS and a doctor told me to try to regulate my weight. I just ignored them thinking the weight didn't have anything to do with it. But if they can't find anything else wrong with me, then I guess it could be.

Your story is so inspiring to me - it can be done!

Although, from your profile picture, you don't look like you need to lose weight -- for your health, I would recommend maintaining a healthy weight. Because weight does have a huge impact on it. The heavier you are, the worse your PCOS will get & that's when major complications can arise. A lot of people will tell you that PCOS is not that serious, but look what happened to me. If you keep on top of it, however, you probably won't experience too many problems.

Thank you for taking time to read it! =)

I feel like this is just the beginning for me. I feel like I'm meant to do something great with the second chance I've been given. And I plan to do just that. I've got lots of ideas a'brewing for my future.

To those of you that I didn't respond personally to: Thank you so much for the kind words! Glad to see that a lot of you have reached out and friend requested me on here. I can't wait to see what your stories are all about, too.

I know I've lost a lot of weight in a short period of time (although things really started to slow down when I reached that -100 mark), but the key to success is taking it one small step at a time -- one day at a time. So, if you're losing weight at a slow pace, don't fret. Just maintain. That's all. If you do that, you will inevitably reach your goals.

I'm in awe of your story. It breaks my heart that anyone would have to go through all of that and feel the way that you felt. I think the silver lining is that you are still alive and kickin' and boy have you changed things for yourself. I truly hope you find as many avenues as possible to share your story because it is truly inspiring. Thank you!

wow. I am speechless. I too have gained a lot of weight recently, and don't feel well a lot of the times. My doctor says its my anti depressants but my gut has been telling me its more than that. Cancer runs in my family (my dad has kidney cancer right now) but I dont know how to tell my doctor that I strongly believe there is something wrong with me without her thinking im nuts.

You can really tell in your pictures how much happier you are now and you look AMAZING! I don't know you, but after reading your story I have to say, I am so PROUD of you!

Your Angels were your Grandmum and your Dad. <3 Keep at it, im so happy you are cancer free! you kicked cancers a**.
