I bartended at those places and I had to hire the girls... And just because you're thick doesn't mean I didn't hire you.. I hired you based on you personality. If you can't talk to a customer you can't sell even if you're a 10+ bombshell. Our best seller was around your height at 240 and she averaged near a grande every night she worked and she didn't even sell privates, but drinks..... So I would go to another establishment.

I totally agree w/ the personality and attitude thing. I am really surprised so few people have mentioned this.

I knew these British girls in the 1990s who were "hot" to look at I would imagine, 5' tall and petite with large busts, they were sisters who almost looked like twins...one blonde, one redhead. They had the snooty, reserved attitude of professors though and I guarantee they didn't smile or flirt w/ patrons when they danced at a strip club amateur night. They did not make $1 in tips. They complained about fat, ugly girls getting hundreds that night by working the crowd. Just sayin'

right, everyone wants a stripper with personality...I also want one that can quote Aristotle and Socrates....

    Interesting thread.

Also, there are plenty of "generously proportioned" strippers. If you really wanna go for it try a few different clubs. If you're not that into it, look for other ways to make money, cuz people are pretty judgemental when it comes to strippers and sex workers so if it's not what you really wanna do you don't want to have to deal with that.

    Hi Im new!
just want to loose about 6lbs ater having baby no 4 and get down to 10 and a half stone at the moment im a u k 12 and just under 11 stone (same as pre pregnacy) and im 43. But caring for a famiy after having a baby means things can slip,I have been this size and weight since 30 years old and dont binge eat.My goal is very small, hoping to be my dream weight by next month. That way all my old clothes fit,I guess muscle weighs more than fat so at different fitness levels we would look different,Isnt there another job you would ike to try?How about working with kids ,or people with disabiitys?
    I think you're lost, honey.

She has come to the right place, what are you talking about?
I didn't read all the way down. lol

    Oops.

Oh my does this thread crack me up! I used to work across the street from a strip club in New Orleans. They parked in the garage behind my building so we got to know some of them. They came in all sizes (as in sticks to curvy), but they were all in good shape and had a lot of stamina.

=I was desperate for money, so I decided that being a stripper was the quickest way. So, I went in and she said "You're a really cute girl but you need to slim down on the sides and in a month when if you do, you are very welcome to come back."
I'm sure that I'll get a lot of comments like "that's being a slut" or "that's hoeish" or that I'm disgusting but I'm in need of money for many, many reasons. My point is, I thought they had chunkier strippers too and I'm only 170 pounds and 5'5. I mean, do they only want skinny people? I don't understand....Maybe I just went to the wrong place but there's no others near me.

Ok, well, I think you'll make more money if you're in shape and thinner...and CAN dance. I understand that you need the money, and I take no issue with anyone being a stripper, but, based on all of the ones I've met, most get caught up in drugs, have poor self-esteem, and have a difficult time leaving the easy money when they need to make a change. Looks fade, so dancing, as a career, isn't an option. This may the easy way now, but it might lead to things being way more difficult, in the future. Maybe, you should check into bartending or server, instead? They also make decent money, if they are good.

Whatever you do, be the best at it, so you can rack up the tips. Sucky bartenders and servers don't get my money.

If I walked in to a strip club (Note: I don't frequent these establishments, I've only ever gone when groups of my female friends want to go) and saw someone like on this page: http://www.mybodygallery.com/search.html?gender=female&height=165&age=any&weight=77&pantSize=any&shirtSize=any&bodytype=

I'd probably turn right around and walk out and go home to my girlfriend. She's not a tall skinny stripper by any means (more like http://www.mybodygallery.com/search.html?gender=female&height=152&age=any&weight=59&pantSize=any&shirtSize=any&bodytype=hourglass ), even almost exactly the same BMI as a 5'7" 170lbs girl, but she carries it all in her boobs, butt and hips.

I might very possibly find a woman of the height and weight OP mentioned to be attractive and want to sleep with her, but I most likely would not want to see her dance.
  • My problem is being both too fat and too uncoordinated to be a stripper (and I'm in Vegas so you know there are club options, probably not ones that I want to go to but there are options). On a serious note, practice stripping (except for the bar, unless of course you have access to one), even if you can't slim down enough in a month and don't have other club options, the workout of stripping is a great calorie burn! Yes, I'm always looking for the great calorie burn!

you heard just one person's opinion. Like anything in life if you keep at it you'll get where you want. Wise people have told me that working hard and being patient is the best way to go.

I agree..."don't let anyone determine your self worth"

You can try a different club, but bigger girls don't usually make much money as a stripper according to basic common knowledge. Get on craigslist and find some caregiving or housekeeping jobs. Look in gigs and see if there is anything there for you. Unless you really wanna be a stage performer, that is. If that's the case and you know how to move, try a different club and see if you can audition your way onto their stage... If you get the opportunity to impress them, they may take a chance on you. Good luck.

Absolutely, I go to strip clubs to be intrigued by their smartness and to hold philosophical conversations with strippers.
I go to libraries to see fit naked girls reading books.

You know at one time this was the purpose of courtesans and geishas, yes pleasure was involved, but they were also held in high regards due to their ability to hold philosophical discussion on art, science, and politics. They were paid quite nicely for being a well rounded woman, so to speak.

Im sure there are plenty less degrading things that you could do to earn a buck or two, but yes generally strippers at certain clubs have to be toned and slim isn't that why there are seperate clubs for the men that like larger girls parading around in skimpy outfits?

degrading? a guy gives a girl money cause he thinks she will sleep with him and the girl takes the money cause she lets the guy think she will sleep with him. like seinfeld said, id be down at the docks waiting for a ship to come in if i had bewbies of the female variety

If you do ever end up becoming a stripper, I think you should consider it an NSV. :drinker:

I think she should go back with the following argument.

  • OP, you need to read some of the threads on here about good recipes and work-outs so you can slim your body down and tone up. Good luck :-)

170 at 5'5 is too heavy to be a dancer. I would get down to about 155 and try again

I guess you could just become a drug dealer or a prostitute, but why do this to yourself? You may want money but you are in dire need of self-respect.

^YOU^ need to be a little less judgy. It is illegal to deal drugs & (in many places) be a prostitute, but as far as I know, it isn't illegal to be a stripper.

Well, you know, we always stress using the "search" feature to find answers to previously asked questions. Maybe this is what happens when you search for key word "stripper".

No offense but you do seem like a big girl. Those places (excluding the ****ty ones) prefer people who are in a better shape
