That is a tough question to answer. When my ex and I split, it just felt so surreal. I set goals for myself and gave a time frame, starting with finding a job (I was a stay at home mom), starting a savings, pay off my car, joining a gym, running a 5K. I needed normal life things to keep me from noticing how bad things were at that time. As I started to work towards those goals, I notcied that even through bad days I was starting to find silver lining in everything. There are still moments when I am down and angry and question how my life is the way it is. I have my moment, becuase we all need a moment, but i force myself to find postivie things around me.

Realize its just really a temp. chemical imbalance in your brain and treat it as such.

I'm only an insensitive *kitten* with feelings when I don't like them.

Focused on myself for quite some time. Used time, used boys, used alcohol, worked out, new hair, new clothes, new places to visit.

I think it depends on why your heart is broken. Did a boy do it? Or is it because your favorite tv show got cancelled? 'Cause one is way more serious than the other.

And yes, I'm still upset they cancelled Firefly. :brokenheart:

Get up, go to the gym, keep busy and KICK A**.
The more you sit around being sad, the more sad you are going to feel. Just keep it moving, keep your mind busy and of course don't ever act like you have a broken heart. Looking good and feeling happy is the best revenge.

My heart is now permanently broken. I will NOT allow myself to be vulnerable again. Love hurts, sometimes too much. I've had enough hurt.

Time heals all wounds, but the scars remain as a reminder. My scars run very deep.

How do you deal with it??? One day at a time, sometimes one hour at a time, sometimes, one minute at a time. Sometimes crying helps.

    Never again!!

Think of it as you just lost that many pounds of stress and dead weight instantly... Think of it as a lesson learned.. If you find yourself obsessing about "I miss him, I love him" force your mind to focus on WHY you broke up not the good times. And keep telling yourself it didn't work because YOU DESERVE BETTER!

Time (though if the person is still somewhat in your life, makes this part even more difficult), replace them (even just for a night here and there;-) ), hit the gym, stay busy, focus on you.

Time heals. Surround yourself with friends and family and set mini goals, things that you've always wanted to do within a certain time frame ei: Trip to Paris, hot air balloon ride, ride a motorcycle, portaging, drastic hair cut etc...And just remember that life is way too short - get out there and enjoy it :)

    we are people- we heal.

We are scarred and we live and learn from our experiences- but we are rarely broken for good.

Time heals almost all things. Time and forgiving yourself and him/her for mistakes- it takes a long time to come to that and the road is bumpy and full of ice cream and then very guilty feeling fat work outs LOL... but it takes times- just make a routine- stick to it and press forward.
