Sexual objectification of breasts

I've had different opinions at different times in my life. When I was fat, I had huge boobs, and I didn't understand the notion of a woman wanting implants for self-esteem issues. Now my boobs are much smaller, and the only real problem I have with it is that off-the-rack tops and dresses don't fit me properly in that region. I don't feel like less of a woman at all. But I do have a better understanding of why other women might feel that way.
On a related note, I am really, really turned off by guys who talk about boobs and look at boobs like they've never seen any before. It reminds me of when I was in junior high, and boys would ask girls if their bras fastened in the front or the back so they knew whether to sit in front of or behind you in class. Be cool, guys. We all have them.
I'm sorry...

...uh, what?
O.M.G. Men like bewbs? Men like looking at bewbs? Those awful, awful creatures! The human body isn't to be viewed and admired!!
Oh. And. Boobs.
I still think this thread needs more pics.
There is a difference between "viewing and admiring" the female body and the pubescent reaction to breasts that one normally associates with mouth-breathers and others who spend way too much time with their hand down their pants. I promise if you tell an attractive woman she's beautiful, it will last a lot longer in her memory than you staring at her chest.
I know men tend to think they'd love being objectified the way women are (I still recall a thread from a few months back, wherein the OP said women should thank men for staring at their breasts), but a day or two of having your crotch stared at would probably cure you of such notions.
I've been married for more years of my life than I've been single...(and that includes the years before I learned how to make peepees in the big potty). I promise you that if I tell attractive women they're beautiful, I will be making regular monthly payments and lose half of my assets.
And you have no idea to what extent I've been objectified in my life...
...and how I felt about it.
PS: boobs.
Not going to lie, sometimes I tend to have man crushes on you due to your post.
P.S: Boobs and all the assets!0 -

I'm speaking strictly about women who got implants for cosmetic reasons, not for reconstructive...
I've known women who got implants and were still themselves afterwards.
I've known some whose behavior / personality completely changed post-implants (and not in a good way - embarrassing their children & husbands by flashing their breasts, allowing near strangers to fondle them in public, etc.)
At the end of the day, I don't have an opinion on implants, just behavior. Yeah, I'm judgmental like that.
And FYI: no, I don't know them anymore. It was a long time ago & I'm old.0 -
If someone wants to get implants, more power to them.
Personally, I just like natural. A, B,C, D whatever.... I like it all.0 -
My sister has implants. She wanted me to help her with basic strength training, but wouldn't do barbell bench or dumbell bench over ~10lbs. Said they might rupture.
If that's true, it's not worth it. I'd rather have small girls but be able to open my own jars without worry.0 -
It's just wired in guys to like boobs. Nothing wrong with that. LOL0

I have small breasts. But, they are proportional to my body, which is also small. When I was younger I did think they were no good because I heard all around me how great large breasts are (usually from other girls). But, I could see that my breasts looked beautiful in the mirror, but still I thought I just must not be attractive (although I did know that I had a pretty face, but still thought I must be plain, but people would always say I had an exotic look). Also, I never had a shortage of male attraction and attention. I had an abundance of that and more than I even wanted (at one point I even got really skinny, down to 85 pounds or so, to try and stop some of it). I also learned from the particular men that were attracted to me that they preferred my body and breasts, and that they didn't see my breasts as being small, but just proportional, perky, and nicely shaped. They still are, even after two babies. I've also never had anyone tell me I am unfeminine. It has been quite the opposite. People are always saying how incredibly feminine I am. I think that has a lot to do with graceful movement and I do have a petite and curvy figure. Also, I got so much attention for my body and my booty. To the point that in multiple places (middle school, high school, college, when traveling) people would refer to me by my booty (without knowing that had happened in the other places as well), to be honest I even got attention for my booty and sexually assaulted in elementary school. I have a very small waist and a nicely shaped booty 10+ inches bigger than my waist. So, as girls and women many of us struggle with all kinds of body issues. I struggled with it. But, it's a complicated mixture. Sometimes I could see how beautiful I was, other times I couldn't. I would think I must not be attractive to men, but got tons and tons of attention from men. I'm still off and on with my body image. But, I try not to give power to the negative and instead to be happy and see the positive. My husband's extreme attraction to me does help with that. Also, I think breasts are beautiful (and I like variety). And also many other aspects of the female body are beautiful. And male bodies also, of course.0

I think that as a society we have put a lot of pressure into making women think they need an hour glass figure, this in turn means you need boobs and butt!. Boobs are the most visible so that tends to be the primary focus in this concept. I personally do not have implants but I would never look down at someone who did. If a woman feels the need to get implants due to not being naturally blessed in the boob department I say why not?! If I was born with small breasts and felt I had to live up to society's view of what a woman should look like, I probably would get them too.
I won't deny that big breasts and nice butts aren't attractive, but that always doesn't add up to the person being a great fit as a mother, wife, or partner for life.

I personally don't care if a woman has them or not. It's her body. I don't think I'd ever get it done. I do know a few women do get them not because they want to be bigger and perky but because the ones they had nearly killed them and they had to get a Mastectomy.0

I feel mixed about the subject. I sometimes wish I had more up top to feel more attractive according to societal expectations. When jogging, I am glad that mine are small. Most of the time, I simply view them as a tool that I really don't have much use for yet.0

When i had no boobs my *kitten* was queen!! **** those big boob gals wished they got the attention i got... Now with boobs its more awesome!!!! :drinker:
Boobs dont make the woman, each one of us is special....:flowerforyou:0 -

Breasts are awesome. Big ones, small ones, and everything in between.0

Some women want different things (which is fine with me). They may want to be looked at BECAUSE they have large breasts, and so get large implants and seemingly quite enjoy the attention. :drinker:
I don't see how that devalues 'natural' women at all.0 -
I'm a very very large chested girl. I can never win...either I look like a prude or a slut. Clothes are not made for women who have really large boobs. Even with multiple sports bras on, it hurts to run. I would kill to be thin and a size C cup (I'm an F right now.)0

Yes, I always thought a nice butt was better than having big boobs. Both would be even better. Usually, when a woman is very thin, her boobs will be smaller. Bigger women will have bigger boobs because of the extra fat they are carrying. Small, natural boobs are better if you are athletic. So, I relate smaller boobs to athleticism. A B or C cup to me is the ideal breast size because often they are still perky, at least in my family. The bigger the boobs are the less likely they are perky, and they just get in the way most of the time. Breastfeeding is actually significantly harder with very big boobs, something I know from personal experience. The nurses in the hospital said it would be much harder for my son to breastfeed because of my breast size, and it definitely was. I can understand wanting to get implants if you are an A cup or if you had breast cancer, otherwise women should just be satisfied with what they have. Someone earlier said women with artificial boobs were concerned about them rupturing. That is definitely a concern for women with unnatural boobs. To me, it is not worth it to be scared that your boobs will rupture just to have bigger boobs.0 -

So true. You have to wear very high necklines to not have your boobs hanging out.0 -
Breasts are breasts. All women have them. I never understood why people make a big deal of them. If we didn't make such a big deal of them, we wouldn't be discussing whether this is true or isn't true. It is what it is. If a woman wants to make her breasts bigger with implants, it is none of my business. The same as it isn't my business if someone wants a tattoo, or a piercing, or a nose job. I don't see how someone getting breast implants would affect me. It wouldn't. The same way someone getting a nose job does not affect me.
When I was bigger, I was a DD. That sucked. Because it sucked so hard, I don't know why anyone would want breasts that big. My back constantly hurt, finding shirts that fit was a nightmare, and I could never sleep comfortably on my back because I felt like they were trying to suffocate me. I'm about a B or a C now (I wear sports bras most of the time, so I couldn't tell you exactly) and it's much better. My back problems magically disappeared once I hit the C cups. Oh, and I can sleep on my back again if I want. But if a woman wants to be a DD, more power to her.
In my experience, people like breasts of all sizes. I couldn't care less usually.0 -

That's a confusing sentence.
TIL that boob size isn't correlated with fit to marry and procreate.
In for man-crushes and bewbs. Not in that order.0 -

That made me laugh
In my experience there seem to be as many men that prefer smaller boobs to bigger boobs. I don't think having smaller breasts makes you less attractive0 -

As far as breasts, what I see as attractive is their perkiness not their size.
Large or small and perky> large or small and floppy IMO.
