    Hi Guys,
I have seen some videos about parasites in your body that could be small or big, but controlling your cravings and mind completely. How true is that? Is there a way to kill them? or even finding out if you have them? I'll appreciate any input.

I would tighten your tinfoil hat to prevent them from controlling you

Were you perhaps thinking of this, http://keybiotics.com/video_toon15c.php. ? My brother sent it to me, but at nearly an hour long I didn't have the patience to watch it. No idea if its bunk or a sales pitch or what...

There are parasites that manipulate their host's behavior, but the only ones I know of that manipulate humans are memes.

All I know is when I have the stomach flu, the next day I am always craving greasy burgers... I think it's just because I'm hungry.

I will shoot myself with a phaser before I will shoot Captain Kirk.

    Kaaaaahhhhhnnnnn

I'm glad I'm not the only one who went there right off.

OP … no. There are some parasites that make you lose weight (i.e. tapeworm) but usually if not treated right away, they kill you. You'd pretty well know you had something wrong. As far as controlling your mind, just NO.

Yes. Parasites. That's a much simpler explanation than you having a lack of willpower.

Parasites made us all fat. Lets all cleanse.

While there are some worm-like and single-celled organisms that can infect humans, the vast majority are extraordinarily rarely encountered in developed countries. There is some evidence that certain parasites can affect or modify human behaviour, but certainly not in the way that you're suggesting.

Long story short: you don't need to worry about parasites. This question raises some alarm bells about delusions of parasitosis. That's a slippery slope you don't want to go down.

    This.

If you have a strong urge (craving) to collect cats, you may be infected with Toxoplasmosis!

Parasites have been linked to almost every illness. However, just because you have parasites does not mean that you are sick. Many people have parasites and never know. When your body has a healthy, strong, immune system, it can deal with most parasites.

Many think Dr. Hulda Clark is quacked, but one of my best friend's mother followed her program after being deathly ill for years. I remember when I first met her and thinking she wouldn't be alive in 2 years. She went through the whole system with her regular MD and specialists and when they could not help her, she moved on to holistic care and under a holistic dr, slowly, but surely, got healthy again and has been for 8 years now - her health transformation encouraged me to step outside the box and learn more about holistic healthcare. I read Dr. Clark's book and found some of what she said as very odd, but the bare minimum found the information helpful. (http://www.drclark.net/cleanses/beginners/herbal-parasite-cleanse). I also went 3 years, with doing her cleanse 1 - 2 times a year and always felt a million time better after doing so.

Anyone not willing to open up their minds and slam healthcare outside of the mainstream healthcare system is surely brainwashed by same and not willing to expand their horizons to learn more.

Don't let fear take over, just use your gut and do as much research as possible. A balanced mix of regular healthcare and holistic care will keep you healthy :)

The likely scenario is that people eat too much, add this to the pile of excuses that people give about why they're fat. If people spent half the time logging and in a deficit than they did trying to learn why it's not their fault they're overweight, they'd be a lot better off.

No. Vague claims of parasitic infections are definitely on the Quack Bingo card, and it should be a huge red flag that whatever you're watching is woo nonsense - ESPECIALLY if it's trying to sell you a product to remove them that doesn't come with a doctor's prescription.

Not saying it doesn't happen in first world countries, but it's a hallmark of the fringier woo elements to claim that invisible parasites that doctors can't detect are causing all of our ailments (morgellon's, autism quackery, etc.)

    E:
Many think Dr. Hulda Clark is quacked,

Clark relies on anecdote and is a naturopath, she does not have a doctorate of medicine. There's a reason that naturopathy is illegal in a number of states - it's not because it has a good track record of being safe and effective medicine.

Am I the only nerd here thinking about Stargate?

No really though, as it's already been said, there are parasites that can get into your intestines but you'd notice weight loss and other gastrointestinal issues from what I understand and I'm pretty sure they don't control your mind. So you can rest easy.
