The official nightshift thread....

Giro d' Italia is on. The first three days were in Israel. That was the most boring start to a Grand Tour race I've ever seen. I hope they don't repeat that next year. Even the announcers were talking about how difficult it was to announce for three stages that were that boring.0
-
I'll have to tune that in. Boring or not, its still cycling

Rest day Monday as they travel to Italy. Tuesday the real racing starts.0

Can this night go by any slower?0

I thought it was only me! When my on-site people phoned check-in at 1 am I was thinking it was 3. What a nasty surprise when it wasn't.0

It’s got to be a full moon.0

That sucks!0 -
Only quarter moon.... I was only 1/4 crazy.
Beautiful sunrise over the lake this morning when I opened the wharf gates. I love it when the mist is rising off the mirror-like surface and the ducks and grebes are gliding along.0 -
2 more nights before the weekend.1
-
It must be a full moon somewhere. I have had some absolutely bat sheet crazy people the last couple of days. "No sir, your dog wasn't shot by the neighbor. There's no bullet in your dog. Yes I'm sure. They show up really nicely on X-Rays. No, you can't go shoot the neighbors dog. Your dog wasn't shot; and even if it was, I'm pretty sure the neighbors dog didn't do it."0

*Apologizing in advance (because I'm Canadian lol) for inappropriate political comment*
'What! A Murrican who doesn't know what a gunshot wound looks like?!'
1 -
@Dead_Mans_Party it's my 'weekend' as of 5AM! Woo hoo!0
-
@canadjineh - That's funny. I should have asked if they were from some other state. No self respecting Montanan would have mistaken a bite wound for a gunshot.1
-
I was going to make the comment strictly Montanan, but wanted to be more inclusive. No man, or dog, left behind.0
-
So the plot thickens. The folks with the dog were back. Someone was on their roof this afternoon and they found a wrench at the house that isn’t theirs. Turns out a tweaker used to live there and people have come looking for him before. Things that make you go “hmmmm”.0
-
If it was me, I would move. Sounds like tweakers are involved. At a minimum install infrared cameras..0
-
And electric fence wire. Gezz man. I can come tazer them off the roof.0
-
"The reason you bought your new house for such an outstandingly good price....."
2 -
A coroner with a tazer? Is that just in case you aren't sure?1
-
Yep. JK. No its for my protection since I am a sworn peace officer.2

Coming down with a bug. Not my finest hour.0
-
@sufferlandrian, feelin' your pain.... For those of us with too much on our plates (metaphorically) the body goes, "Hmm, a few days off coming up, finally I will have a chance to get some down time, but ONLY if I get ill - then she (he) won't be able to pack anything extra into that time." Bad chest cough here, and hubby down sick too (for the same reasons).0
-
Stomach bug here. I'd rather have the stomach bug than a cough. At least you can sleep with a stomach bug.0
-
Getting punchy here at work. Started singing the "Wish I was a fishy in the brook" song.0
-
Hubby took drugs and went off to work this morning... the fact that he even thought about it means he's on the mend. My dad & I took some light furniture (some dining room chairs and a large upholstered ottoman) over to their new senior residence.
I'll be glad when this move is over.
Humorous list for you, @sufferlandrian:
New Dog Breeds
Of course you already know the Bulldog/Shitzu cross.
Collie/Lhasa Apso = Collapso - a dog that folds up for easy transport
Pointer/Setter = Pointsetter - the traditional Christmas pet
Terrier/Bulldog = Terribull - don't bother buying this one
Bloodhound/Labrador = Blabador - they bark incessantly
Malamute/Pointer = MootPoint - owned by... oh well, it doesn't matter anyway
Collie/Malamute = Commute - a dog that travels well to work
Deerhound/Terrier = Derriere - a dog that's true to the end
Pekingese/Lhasa Apso = PekeAso - only a dog in the abstract sense
