Yeah theres a sense of negativity to it. Its a bit too spot on allegorically.

Its also part of the humor of the term. Like a men-only type comment.

Like if a girl is a kitten/***** cat, the cougar is a the looser skinned cousin. A smaller subsection of all the great cats like the lion, tiger, panther.... then theres the ol cougar.

Thats where the laugh/chuckle in the mind comes from.

So yeah it is negative but not malicious. Just a bit too tangy. Its not something I would say around women, only the boys.

To me, "cougar" implies an older woman who tries too hard.
When I refer to a confident, sexy, 45 year-old woman, I use first person pronouns. :glasses:

Personally I find it offensive, it suggests a predatory nature. I never chase younger men, they pursue me

Why is it "a match made in heaven" for men.. And "cougar" for females...
    :noway:

Isn't it dirty old man though?

This. I've never heard of an old guy dating a young girl as "a match made in heaven"
Heard it plenty of times in Georgia

It's a southern thing. She's young and beautiful, but dumber than a bag of hammers. He's rich and successful, and a pervert. Match made in heaven.

Whatever works. I would posit that our society is entirely too prudish in general

Guess I'm missing out. Then again when you say older guy I'm thinking of fellas in their 60s going for a girl in her early 20s. Like those old *kitten* that set on the benches at Walmart. Pretty creepy **** that they come off with.

Southerners are too nice. On the west coast they are gold diggers and perverts. South east it's match made In heaven.

West coast it's "you dumb bytch". South east it's "bless your heart"
