So I gained this week and I'm feeling sick becasue of lack of exercise and eating out this weekend. I'm glad it was only a lb and i'm ready to get back in the game and lose the weight for next week. No more eating crap this week, i'm eating clean and couting everything that enters my mouth, no matter how small. Water is my friend as well, I need to flush this crap out of my system.0 -
I do believe I have hit a plateau. *sigh* Just *sigh*

Well, I'm headed back down. So that's good. It's been pretty stressful at work, and I haven't been really great at tracking, so I was worried between the two I might have gained. I am sorry that I haven't been on much. It has been CRAZY! I'm used to having 6 different classes to plan for (such is the life of a music teacher), but my elementary music teacher has been out because of knee surgery for the last month. Because of this, I have taken over 5th grade music, 6th grade music, 5th grade band, and 6th grade band. AHHHH!!!!!! AND I've been trying to put together fundraisers for my high school choir to go on a trip to Branson. Unfortunately, that trip isn't going to happen because of WHEN the company wants their money. But that does remove some of the stress about the fundraising. We'll still do a little trip. Probably to go to a Broadway Musical in a city within a few hours driving. MUCH cheaper, AND we can continue the fundraising all this year so that next year we can do the Branson trip.
I still have 2 fundraisers going right now, window decals and a cookbook, that are running pretty much simultaneously. I can't wait to get those finished so I can start some of the "easier" fundraisers! Did I ever mention how much I HATE fundraising?!
On top of all of that, DD fell at lunch recess last Thursday and severly sprained her ankle. Went to the doc for x-rays and got an "aircast" brace for it. We had to borrow a stroller and buy some crutches so she could get around until she could walk on it. She's walking on it now, but she SSSSLLLLOOOOWWWW at it. I don't want her to hurry and hurt herself, but I am ready for her to be better!
So that's the story of me lately. I will try to be a better member over the next several weeks. I am so glad to see so many people losing, and to see new faces! Keep working!0 -

So I gained 8 lbs on my cruise! I heard from some lady on the cruise that the average person gains 2 lbs per day. So...since I was on a 9 day cruise I really should have gained 18 lbs then right? So I did GREAT! LOL I had figured I would gain at least 5 lbs, so I'm not freaking out. I worked out every day except for the last day because we had to get off the ship. I worked out at least an hour each day & even 2 1/2 hours one sea day. I did lots of snorkeling & jumping ocean waves - I know that burned some more calories as well. Lots & lots of walking & I even took the stairs the majority of the time on the ship! I did a ton of dancing one night in HEELS and boy did my calves feel it for THREE DAYS after that!
Anyway - I ate whatever I wanted and had a great time. I'm sure most of what I gained is just water weight. I'm not fretting over it. I got back on the horse & went to the gym tonight for Zumba & also worked out on the elliptical for a bit.
Tomorrow I go see my doc for my 6 mo checkup. I'm sure he will be VERY pleased with my progress so far. :bigsmile:0 -
Good morning everyone! I can't believe half the work week has past me by and I've not posted very much. This will be another quick post b/c this special assignment is kicking my tail and it MUST be completed by today. Monday, I completed the Push Circuit 3 dvd from the Chalean Extreme series, Tuesday, I completed a Cardio dvd from the Kettleworx series and Today I completed the Resistance dvd from the Kettleworx series. I'm unsure if I'm going to keep the Kettleworx series or not b/c there's parts of it I already don't like BUT I do enjoy the fact that it's a full body workout and it's a little less than 30 minutes. I'll do a few more workouts before I make a definitive decision.0

Wow! A few days of not sticking to the diet and eating out a couple times(even though I divided my portion in half) Look what happens. Hopefully its from the extra sodium and by drinking more water I will get rid of this quickly.0 -
Well I was down to 210.0 yesterday but back up to 212.0 today. Yesterday was my birthday, so I ate a lot - it was a food fest here at work, then I had pizza with my family last night. PLUS I didn't work out at all yesterday! Oh well :ohwell: I only turn 39 once!
Anyway - my appt with my doc on Wednesday went better than I expected! According to his records I've lost 48 pounds in 6 months! :noway: WOWSA - I guess my starting weight was more than I had thought! Anyway - my cholesterol is finally normal! My triglycerides are the lowest they've been in 10 years! My sugar is normal as well! My kidneys, liver, & thyroid are all normal too. Doc is SO happy with me he shook my hand 6 times & said I have nothing to tell you...keep doing what you are doing! :bigsmile:0 -
I knew I would start to slow down soon, I just didn't think it would happen now, but that's ok. I'm gonna just keep pushing on. Winter is coming up and I know it gets even harder with all that comfort food around and without a gym membership, it will be a little harder to get in exercise unless I wanna freeze..anyway, I woke up yesterday with a sore throat, didn't do much for exercise due to a rehersal dinner for my friends wedding and I was helping decorate for a while yesterday. Carrying large mums and pumpkins everywhere.. Today is their big day and I can't wait. Even though I'm feeling kinda blah, I still plan to dance much of the night away. I bought a new dress and I'm a little nervous about wearing it b/c most of the people at this wedding are my guy friends who've only seen me muddied (is that a word?! It is now!) up from 4 wheelin in jeans and tshirts or hoodies and sneakers.... so I'll either have them awkwardly stare or laugh b/c I'm out of my element or they won't notice.. hopefully they don't notice Have a wonderful weekend all!

I HURT, I HURT, I HURT.....TOM is really kicking my tail this month. I had a meeting this afternoon that lasted a lot longer than I anticipated and I was in soooooo much pain. I was on my way back to the house when I realized I hadn't completed my workout for today. I was so thankful I had some workout clothes in the care b/c I pulled over to the side of the road and changed out of my shirt, jeans and heels and into my tank top, jogging pants and sneakers. I got out the car and walked a total of 1.2 miles. I tried to walk as fast as possible but I was experiencing so much pain in my lower back and hips that it just wasn't possible.
I have now made it home, taken some pain medication and hope to be sleeping soon.0 -

Oh! That's horrible! I don't know if it will work for you, but if you can put pressure on the spinous process, (the bony part of the vertebrae in your back) at the level of L5, it can help. To find L5, the top of your hips, if you put your hands on them with the thumbs on your back, the bony part that sticks out in the middle of your back is L4. L5 should be the next bony part below it about 3/4"-1" down. Just push in on the bone for about 90 seconds, use a tennis ball if need be, and it might help relieve the pressure.
