My base partner and I were the two largest on the cheer team but also the best pair. We had to do a news segment on our team but the only shirts that they had for us were sized Medium, white and see through. To say the least we didn't look good. After nailing our stunts for the camera we went to go watch it, without realizing one of the flyers (the skinny ones that get thrown in the air) said:

"Shouldn't we have gotten girls who are actually attractive to do this? Those shirts defiantly don't look good on either of them."

    Yeah I knew that thanks.

I can't think of any specific humiliating experience while I was morbidly obese (340 pounds) because honestly, how I was treated by everyone is enough.

My absolute worst experience though was getting another MRI after I found out I had a brain tumor. I'm not claustrophobic by any means but being put into a coffin sized tube and not being able to move/pinned in place because you are too fat was pretty terrible.

    Edit:

I hate reading stories about how people were left by their spouses/signifigant other because of their weight. It's a shame that someone who is supposed to care for you can't look past it or try and help you. My ex never told me that was one of the reasons behind her cheating, but a part of me knows that it contributed.

We are all on MFP to better ourselves, put your heart into it and stick with it. Put it all behind you because the best is yet to come.

    Why?

Just wait until your Ex sees how much you have transformed and improved yourself in more ways than one. That's always fun.

I didn't do any of this for her or for an attempt to get her back and it's not a reason to do any of it, but I'd be lying if I said it didn't get some satisfaction from that.

One more thing, a "look" can be worse than words. At some point, I quit keeping track of my weight. I think I hit somewhere near 250 lbs on my 5'5" frame, before I came out of my funk. The "look" was common, when my husband and I would go out to eat. He does not have a weight issue. I felt the "look" of disapproval no matter what food choices I made. Who knows the "look" I am talking about?

Oh I know that look. Here's what's going through their heads.

"Look at that fat guy eating a hamburger! Happy heart attack, fat boy!"

"Look at that fat guy eating a salad! Not working for you, is it, fat boy?"

Wow, isn't that the truth! You can't win sometimes with other people and their judgement! We are all better off if we can manage not to care about the opinions of those who don't know us!

Mine would be the time I in middle school when my girlfriend and I went to a water park, I always wore a shirt when swimming because I NEVER take my shirt off in public, but this time I had to because the water park wouldn't allow me to wear it. Well the next day at school I heard how my girlfriend had told everyone about how big my "boobs" were.

Then there was the time I sat in a folding chair and it broke...I have avoided them like the plague ever since

the worst thing. Easy. My husband saying he was leaving because I was fat, finding out he has been having an affair for months.

Funny enough, this was at a takeaway place. The owner asked when my due date was. I'd had a busy week and wasn't thinking so I asked 'Due date for what?' She pointed at my tummy and said 'You know.. .the baby!' I told her that there was no baby, so no due date either. 'Oh come on, you can tell me... it's obvious that you're pregnant...'

I told her to forget about my order and walked out, never to return again.

A few years ago, I was driving with the windows down and stopped at a stoplight when I heard something coming from the car next to me. There were two guys in their 20s in the car next to mine and they were looking at me saying "moo!!" When I instinctively looked over, they said "How's it going cow?" and mooed at me until the light changed. I was so devastated that it crushed my self esteem and made things worse for me for a while. People can be so cruel. That experience just sticks with me. So simple, but so traumatic.

I want to be mean to those guys for you! ARG this story makes me angry!

Feeling awkward in social and professional situations
Buying clothes in a specialist retailer
Nasty comments from family and others
Worrying about being able to fit into an airline seat

Worst of all is looking at myself or seeing photos of myself. It was this that have me incentive and motivation to lose weight.

I should mention I've just started losing weight. But one thing 've noticed - the place I feel least conscious about you my size and most comfortable is a the gym where I'm ironically surrounded by a lot of lean people. People at my gym just seem to be nice - maybe they respect an overweight person who is trying to lose weight.

I was always in denial over my weight, even at my highest weight I still didn't consider myself "fat".

All that changed when my boyfriend told me that I should get some lingerie for a special night and then sent me a link to a website for lingerie for plus sized and much larger women. He didn't even consider for a moment that I might have fit into anything Victoria's Secret had to offer.

Talk about a mortifying wake up call, I realized that he and everyone else viewed me as being fat.

I had a guy jump in front of me on the street when on a night out and 'moo' in my face.

The multiple times I've gotten 'stuck' trying on clothes in shops.

Feels over heated really quickly but not being able to take off jumpers or cardigans that would unveil my body shape.

And 'the look' along with giggling - sends you into a spiral of 'is it just my imagination - is this me judging myself?' 'no they are looking at me, no wonder' etc its horrid.

Oh to be able to walk down the street with my partner and not feel inadequate and judged. To be able to just be in the moment than in my own mind over thinking things all the time would be priceless... :frown:

What's worse is when your husband has a six pack and cheats on you with a skinny blonde girl from a bar. :(

I'm not doing this for him though. I'm doing this for me and my son. Hopefully I find someone that appreciates me and treats me a lot better.

I was on the beach with my fiance collecting sea glass and a man passing by pointed at me and said "look kids, a beached whale"

And a week ago I was walking with my fiance and someone shot me with silly string from their car. People are so pathetic sometimes. They see an active large person and it makes them angry. Go figure

    WTF?

That moment should've been humiliating for HIM, not for you, if he had any sense.
