i think she looks great. cant stand the people complaining that she is too small... some people like that look, having that super slender frame... i think she looks great, and i wish i could look like that!!!

There is a difference between someone with a slender frame and someone with signs of starving themself. Seriously...I can't get over the derp factor in this thread.

    Gah, yes! This. *head desk*

sorry, i disagree. i think she looks good.

I don't care what YOU think. Your opinion doesn't change my opinion. Lol!

    Agree to disagree...and walk away?

YOU dont have to care what i think, im posting on a message board where everyone posts thier opinion. you can agree to disagree with me all you like.

Oh, I know. You just disagreed, quoting ME, so I responded in kind.

no, i quoted the conversation, not just you. just makes it a little easier for people to read through the comments.

    Crazy much?

I say let the lady have her reward and I am sure ABC is all smiles and giggles about all the controversy people are creating over it.

I don't even watch this show and I know it's on NBC not ABC! :noway:

the last time i weighed 105 lbs, i was in middle school. i was also a lot shorter than 5'4" then. i rest my case.

i think i was in 5th grade when i weighed 105... but i was also already about 5 foot 7 before middle school

i also dont believe the scale was correct. she doesnt look 105 to me! she looks a little bigger than 105.

Camera adds ten lbs you know.

For real though, if she were any lighter than she is now she'd have been crushed by that confetti falling on her.

Agreed. In every picture I take it looks like 5-6 cameras are pointed at me :(

i think they should focus more on ruben now, because, he needs to lose some, his body has to be tired from all that weight.

Or, Reuben could focus on himself.

It's amazing, if she can do that in 5 months, surely i can lose 62lbs. in that tike frame. She'd look extra amazing if she gained 25 lbs.

As for the loose skin questions - me thinks it's called PLASTIC SURGERY.

Apparently they're under contract not to get any plastic surgery until after the Finale.

She probably didn't have saggy arms because (in reading her story I discovered) she was a swimmer and quite athletic in high school and didn't gain weight until after she broke up with her college boyfriend....If she's only 24 now, and it does take some time to gain over 100 pounds from where you were, she hasn't been sitting at 260 for that long so it's much easier for her skin to shrink back quickly than someone carrying the extra weight for years and years or someone who is older and has less elasticity.

This lady worked her butt off and lost 155 pounds and now she is getting nothing but negative feedback! Wow really!! Now tell me winning $250K and getting healthy wouldn't motivate you to do the same and WIN IT! Its a competition ppl and what do you join for if it not to win...come on ppl either your to fat or to skinny!! Good for her I support this girl she deserves praise but societys gotta crush her bubble! Well if more ppl would get their butt of the couch and put their time and energy into a great workout instead of knocking someone down after such a big accomplishment maybe obesity wouldn't be an issue in the world! Essshh!!!

'Standing up and applauding' I agree 100%!! My hats off to the lady! She didn't get there sitting on the couch! Like you said it's a competition and I think people keep forgetting that...

I'm pretty sure the purpose of this show was not to give out money. It was to teach, motivate, and inspire people to improve their health. She didn't do any of those things.

Well, I do think the show is out to gain money and are not doing it for purely altruistic reasons, but I do watch, because I do learn from it, am motivated by it, and am inspired by it. I take what's useful and discard the rest. The producers are going outer limits, these days, though.

As with much of television, the Biggest Loser is something that was started to be a positive for society, and commercialism has driven it in the opposite direction. I said it earlier on someone's wall, but the same thing happened to Dr Oz.

I actually used to watch both of these shows until I realized how ridiculous, unrealistic, and over-commercialized the content of these shows had become.

I don't understand why everyone is so surprised that a show that touts 20-30 lb losses per week as "GREAT" progress while a 5-8 lb loss in a week can be "bad" had a contestant take it too far on their own after leaving. It's the next natural step given the extremism of the entire program. I'm just hoping that she did it just for the money and will put some weight back on after as most of the winners of the show have done in the past intentionally.

Just in case some of you didn't really get a good look at her:

Yeah, ol' Reuben. I wanted him to win American Idol and I wanted him to do something big on BL, but it didn't go down like that. :ohwell:

i was wondering that about her arms too! but, thats makes sense if she was a swimmer! i was thinking yesterday, geez she has no loose skin on her arms...

This whole fuss does prove one thing. Other people are never happy with you. If you're fat they'll let know it. They'll tell you how bad you look, how lazy you are, and how you have no self control. If you lose too much weight and get too skinny they'll complain about that. Gain some back blah blah blah. If you hit the sweet spot and get too fit they'll complain because you work out too much. You're obcessed they'll say. So yeah. There's that.

Jillian didn't even train her. Dovett did. While I think she does look a little too thin, she is shorter and 105lbs is probalby on the very low end but if she is definitely muscular. The controversy is crazy-people are so quick to jump all over everyone. SMH :grumble:

    She's not muscular. At all.

Just want to make sure I'm following this....

It isn't ok to point out that SOME of us think Rachael is too thin

    BUT

It is apparently ok to basically say Reuben didn't lose enough!

    Am I understanding this correctly?

Yep. I can see that as the true progression. The original premise has definitely shifted to sensationalism and sales. I guess, they hook you in the beginning and sell you sugar free key lime pie gum to replace your cake in the end. (I'll take the real thing, in smaller portions, thank you very much!) haha!

Meh...she is literally 2.5 pounds away from being back in the ''normal'' range on the BMI. I'd go 2.5 pounds underweight to win that much money too. No biggie.
