THE WALKING DEAD

For those that hate Carl - you do realize that Carl is a kid and not an adult, right? Have you ever spent any time around kids his age? How long do you think most would last in that environment?
Try to imagine the show in "real world" terms (I know, it is a zombie show, but try anyways), not by Hollywood fantasy standards, and you'll see that Carl has endured more mental scars and tragedy than anyone else on that show, and is doing an amazing job of keeping it together. Now if he would just get rid of that silly hat...
I totally agree with you.
He's had to be a child soldier. He's had to shoot his mother in the head, so that she wouldn't turn. He has witnessed an incredible amount of violence and death. He has also had an absentee father who wasn't quite right in the head for a long time.
I'd cut Carl a lot of slack.0 -

That's how I view Carl as well. Don't forget about Shane as well. He really looked up to him and ended up having to kill him, too. His life has been very difficult, and I think that he's managed to handle it pretty well, all things considered.0 -
I am still so sad that Hershel died!
Love the theory about Carol and Judith...I hope that happens!
Mixed feelings about the episode, I generally find Carl quite irritating but I enjoyed his character journey last night. I really don't think it was Michonne at the door at the end though...!
Not really a fan of when they split up the characters though and each episode focuses on a different group but excited to see what happens in the rest of the series.
Does anyone play the Walking Dead Telltale game?!
Why wouldn't it have been Michonne at the door? WHY MUST YOU MAKE ME CONSIDER IT SOMEONE ELSE? LOL. Now I've got major anxiety and a huge feeling we won't find out til 2 episodes from now.
Haha I'm sorry! It's just the way they built it up so much that I just thought it was too predictable to be her?! Maybe it's Carol at the door?! I wish we could find out sooner!!
I thought it might not be Michonne either. It was a weird way to end it. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see Carol back!!!!
Did you watch "The Talking Dead"? It was Michonne at the door meeting up with Rick and Carl. They talked about that scene and a few others with the actress that plays her and the executive producer/director of the episode.
Also, the two new "pets" Michonne had were the Governor's men and that's why she picked those two specifically. I thought that was pretty clever and wished I had noticed that when I first watched the episode.0 -
What's with all of the Carl hate? He had to kill his mother, his little sister is (likely) dead, and he's trapped in a godless world of blood and gore day in and day out. Think back to when you were a teen, you would have lasted about 5 minutes in the zombie apocalypse!
I definitely understand the "why" of his behavior and actions. But I still wanted to smack him lol.0 -

Found it!
LOL!!!
seriously though, poor kid.0 -
Since Michonne was peeking in the front window 10 seconds before the knock on the door, and Rick said with a smile "it's for you" to Carl, do we need to spend a lot of time speculating about who it could be? Of course it is baby Judith, infected...0
-
Prediction: Lori has baby Judith. We didn't actually see Lori dead. We just heard Carl shoot the gun. I think she survived because when Rick was going crazy the producers made it clear to Chris on The Talking Dead that Rick was having a vision of Lori. They insisted that Lori was not a ghost.
My cousin reads the comics and has told me that Lori and baby Judith are dead but I always thought it was odd that they would correct Chris when he asked about ghost Lori.0 -
I saw a baby zombie prop floating around the interwebs somewhere...0

Daryl :flowerforyou: ...that is all I have to say
aaaand this.0 -
Talking Dead after the show was awesome too. Chris feeding pudding to Hershel's head was epic.0

Didn't Rick walk in on a zombie that had gorged itself on her body?0 -
^Yeah, It did look that way...and I was kind of glad to see Lori go--even though that was a terrible way for her to die! But, it would defiantly be an interesting twist to the story!0

Loved the last line.... Rick to Carl when the knock at the door came...."It's for you!"0

I think someone from the group is going to meet up with Carol along the way. My guess is that it's going to be Daryl and Beth. I think Judith is dead just from the comments from the producers during Talking Dead.
My guess is that Carol is going to meet up with Tyreese, and they'll be traveling together with him not knowing that Carol was the one who killed those two at the prison. Eventually, they'll rejoin Rick and Daryl and it will be a whole lot of awkward. LOL0 -
Found it!
OMG Thank you! This is almost as good as Joffrey getting slapped by Tyrion for an hour!0 -
I loved it. Some of the peeps at work think the show should have non-stop action but I love the emotionally strong episodes just as much. And besides...we did get to see Michonne go off on a herd0
-
Getting real sick of Carl, lol. Also I'm on the fence about lori and baby judith0

I think Rick was an ok leader. I think towards mid-series he was trying more to be an equal than a leader. Carl is an idiot. I didn't like the kid from the beginning. I don't think Judith is dead. Pysched for next Sunday!0
-
I'm guessing Michonne is at the door holding Carl's shoe.

I think this was a good episode.. overall, Carl is being a snotty typical teenager, but he needs to grow up some and stop blaming, but I guess he needs to vent on someone, but then Rick needs to treat him more like an adult than a kid, the situation isn't normal, so parenting skills needs to adjust to it. But Carl needs to be careful or he might end up getting shot....again..
Rick has had a LOT of crap dumped on him as the groups leader and everyone expected him to make it right, that's a lot of pressure to do the right thing all the time, no wonder he cracked, he's had to draw the hard line between "kill everyone we come across" vs "help everyone we see" vs "keep us all safe and fed".. not a position I'd want to deal with day in and day out. that would get old listening to everyone whine real quick, no wonder he snapped. looking forward to this season, the development so far has been great (good and bad)0 -
I re watched the episode 3 times. The main reason for that was to make sure that Michonne went to the house that Rick and Carl were at. If you notice the one that Carl went to where he got the pudding and lost his shoe, it's a covered porch. The house where Rick and Carl were staying at was not, and that's the one that Michonne went to. She looked in the window and saw Rick and Carl, hence the reason she broke down. She felt like she had hope again (after following the herd). She was the one that knocked and that is who Rick saw through the door. It wouldn't make sense if it was someone else.
If it wasn't Michonne, why would she have been full of emotion at that moment she knocked?
To the lady who said Lori is still alive, please, LET IT DIE!0 -
I loved the new episode. At first, I wanted someone to slap Carl (especially with his "You remember Shane don't you?" comment!) but like a few other people have said, he's a teenager. And it really wouldn't make much sense if he didn't act like that at some point. Let's also think about all he's been through.
I didn't think it was a "boring" episode, like some are saying. No it wasn't as insane and heartbreaking as the last episode, but I'm not sure I could've handled another one like the mid season finale, right from the get-go. It's not always about the action. Calm before the storm.
Loved the Michonne back story. Hopefully they'll continue that for a few other characters we don't know too much about (Daryl, Glenn -all we know is that he delivered pizzas-, etc..)
I think it'll be interesting to see how the rest of the group does. If you think about it, it's not the 'typical' pairings (aside from Rick, Carl and now Michonne) Daryl & Beth. Maggie and Glenn were split up. Tyreese with the two little girls. Can't wait to see who ends up running into Carol. I also am with the people who are saying that Judith isn't dead, I think someone grabbed her at the last minute. However, I'm pretty sure it wasn't Lori - let's put that one to rest
I did feel a little scared at the end when Michonne walked up on the porch and went to knock on the door. It seemed too "happy" and I was really afraid that something was gonna happen to her (i.e. Axel gets a bullet to the head while telling Carol a joke) Super relieved that didn't happen. Can't wait for Sunday!0 -
I like how this episode gave some insight to Michonne in her previous life. I'm glad she found Rick and Carl too. It was nice to have a sort of Walking Dead Happy ending. I'm curious to see if and how the group will reunite. Prediction Carol is going to run into Darryl or some others from the group. I also think that psycho little girl killed those sick people and Carol is covering for her Its going to come out this season.0

Carl... I can see both sides... Rick needs to let him grow up a bit faster in the new world, but Carl also needs to stop being a punk.

This is from Scott Gimple himself! : “Next week's episode has a really cool structure that affords us to not really have a central focus. There are a lot of answers next week — at least a few major ones. You get other big answers next week and different pairings we haven't seen yet we well as stories that fold into each other. The deck gets shuffled. I love the amount of story in next week's episode. I love structure and variety of story in next week's episode. There really are a lot of answers in next week's episode; not all of them but there's a few big ones!”0 -

Ohhh! Interesting...I can't wait!0 -
I don't want to post the other picture I have from another forum I am on, but is it possible that we will be introduced to two new characters or what this coming episode? Ahhhh I can't wait!!!!0
