YES! I've read something here on MFP but can't remember who posted it (sorry): "You don't brush your teeth or have a shower because you love it but you know you have to."
If the author is reading this post: thank you! :D

    Day 25 of 90:

A Poem about St. Patrick's Day or Teddy Bears (or something) :flowerforyou:

Once upon a time, or perhaps a dream,
When life was just the way it seemed,
An old teddy stumbled across her way,
Early morning on St. Patrick’s Day,
At first glance it didn’t seem like much,
Plain and worn, missing fur and such,
But within that bear she soon discovered,
A great treasure waiting to be uncovered,
So she held tight to that old teddy bear,
And carried it with her everywhere,
With bear in hand she faced her fears,
Changing her life as she fought the tears,
The bear let her be courageous and bold,
As it whispered tidbits of wisdom untold,
‘Til the day she awoke to empty space,
The bear suddenly gone without a trace,
She searched for it to the ends of the earth,
Through time and space, from death to birth,
‘Til she finally placed the book on the shelf,
Realizing the bear was within herself.

Oh, wow. Only one month in and you are already half way to your goal! That's amazing :).

Ha! Thanks Brooke-- I did end up changing my original goal like I had mentioned in my blog earlier this week... I figured it would be better for me to break it down rather than set myself up for something that may or may not be realistic for me. I can assess how I feel after losing this amount and decide then whether I'd like to lose another 5-10 or maintain for a while. And this goal feels like something I can probably accomplish in the next 2 months of this thread

And I love what you said yesterday about logging being a liberation instead of a bondage... When I started I thought it was a chore, but now I love the freedom it gives me. I don't have to be afraid of eating the foods I like (in moderation, of course) because I am aware of what I'm putting in my body.

Well, HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!! Hope it's super-enjoyable:flowerforyou:

    Thank you!!!!

Wow 30 days that's 1/3 of this thread complete; it's hard to believe what a difference it has made just committing to this one small goal. I guess just about everything big is accomplished by doing small things consistently. In the beginning it was so difficult for me to just complete the simple action of logging on daily, but now I look forward to it and enjoy it. I get so much wisdom, encouragement, and inspiration from the friends I've made on this site... And I love getting to watch all of your daily progress in reaching your fitness goals-- lol, my kids just watch me in amusement as I scroll through my feed with a giddy smile on my face

    You're doing awesome.

I think we forget a lot that even slow progress is progress. Sometimes progress is just going to bed and vowing to do it again tomorrow instead of throwing in the towel.

As I learned not too long ago. You have to want it. Not just the weight loss but the healthy body. You have to really want to change. It's a lifestyle and I am fully commited yes I have bad choice days but I get right back at and log good or bad. that's the only way you will ever stick to it.

    Day 37 of 90:

Once I met a man who told me
no one has the right to hold me
in a prison of their creation
I didn’t grasp the words he said
So I followed him around instead
    Much to my frustration
After time had passed in years
And I’d cried away all my tears
In a prison of my creation
My fears had turned into layers
That numbed my body of its cares
    A fat, lonely situation
Until a thought occurred to me
To try the world of MFP
    now I’m moving in jubilation

    haha:smile:
