Hosted book club last night - which means lots of good food and wine! Went with an Italian themed meal.
Antipasti Platter
Caprese Salad with tomatoes from our garden
Proscuitto and Fontina Chicken Cutlets
Spaghetti Aglio e Olio
Bread with Homemade Garlic Herb Butter (herbs from the garden)
Gelato Assortment (Pumpkin Spice, Toasted Almond, Straciatella)
Assorted Desserts including: Italian cookies from local bakery, pink cupcakes from Whole Foods and homemade Brown Butter Snickerdoodles (made by a friend, I ran out of time for baking)
Not pictured, lots and lots of wine!0 -

Larro don't you know anything about book clubs? No one ever actually talks about books, its just an excuse for women to get together and eat, drink, and gossip.0 -

Oh, I understand now. The Quilter's Club that meets at the Civic Center every Monday night has a themed party once a month. After they eat, they play games the rest of the night. So that is 25% of their time that there is no quilting going on. A couple of times they have brought their husbands, which means the guys end up sitting in my office all night taking up my 'me' time.:grumble:0 -
that lookso good0

Yummy! Do you have a recipe you can share for those pumpkin muffins?0

Had an early start to my day, so I'd been remiss about defrosting my salmon. Popped frozen dry rub salmon into the oven [note they're still icy ... lol] for a pyrex steam, plain white rice ~ which was meant to be lemon/herbed garlic rice [was on rote and filled the pan up with water, instead of heating some oil with garlic and lemon wedges ... I just chose to roll with it and added herbed butter my sis and I had made earlier after plating~ more options ~ added a dob on top of my salmon too] with warmed caramelised onions, mushrooms and spinach salad ~ threw in some slithered almonds [5 count] for crunch. Easy dessert@Klondike bar

Frozen salmon flavouring process ~ lol
Rice still cooking

Dessert Cookies n cream Klondike bar

I raided the freezer to get ribs and pork loin. Also had peas from last night, and green beans, stir-fry veggies and a crusty French baguette. All very good. I have a late party at work, so there might be a 2nd supper closer to midnight.

I made a grilled turkey sandwich with cheddar cheese, spinach, tomato, and mustard (it was ugly but tasted really good). Sides of salad and 2 clementines.

Nothing yet. Will post soon when I know what I am having0

Totino's Combination Party Pizza
Didn't end up going out because my mom decided that "i wasn't hungry enough for supper" yesterday, so yea. Whatever. She always gets like that. Almost.0 -
Tonight mine is a chicken fajita:
leftover skinless rotisserie chicken, orange pepper, 1/2 onion, with mushroom sauteed together with chunky salsa. Ideally it will be on a sun dried tomato tortilla which I have in my fridge, but if its age caught up to it by the time I got for it, I will be having deconstructed fajitas instead with a serving of tortilla chips.0 -
^Hey that sounds good!
Mine for certain will be tacos, as I finally got the last two ingredients I need for it! Will definitely post pics later!0 -
******Disclaimer******* This was lunch, but I wanted to brag about the restraint I showed. Even though I also had pork loin and ribs, all I put on my sandwich was BBQ turkey burger, bacon, Tavern ham, cracked pepper turkey breast, Colby Jack, pickles and tomato. Practically a 'wish' sandwich.

We went out for Chinese.
Egg drop soup (only ate about 1/4 of the bowl)
Cashew chicken, chow meon, white rice and egg roll.
Lots of leftovers!
To top it off, my fortune cookie let me know a great fortune is coming my way some time today!0 -
Dinner was pan fried chuck steak [friend bought them > not an ounce of fat on them, as is the norm with this cut of meat], so I had to braise them a little to make them more tender. Ughhh!!! Served them with caramelised onions and apples, which we all ate whilst watching our Friday night movie "Godzilla." Dessert ~ Cookies and cream Klondike bar ~ had contemplated a Reese's PB Klondike bar ~ nuh!! The steaks were served with cinnamon, brown sugar and nutmeg butter ~ Yum!!
Plain mash pic ... Pre herb buttering. Held off on the butter because of the 'fat' nazis.

Will post pics as soon as I have my supper made!0 -
Here are my tacos! In the newest nacho cheese stand taco shells: cheese on bottom, ground beef on top,(not seen here) salad mix, cheese on top of that, and some roma tomatoes on top
Had some leftover pieces of roma tomatoes, so I ate the rest of them afterwards

Stopped @ Shari's for lunch on the way home from church.
No pic of the Steak, red skinned mashers, and onion rings I had in the restaurant. It looked too good and I was HANGRY!
To go I asked for Loaded Baked Potato Soup for dinner tonight and I got a piece of lemon meringue pie to bring home for dessert. :blushing: With all the sodium I had to today, I fully expect elephant sized cankles tomorrow....

Tonight I had lasagna, asparagus, cucumber, red bell pepper and a clementine.

Broiled Swai, corn salad, green beans, dill pickle spear, onion slices and crusty french baguette. Very good.
No sugar added ice cream with my newest frozen banana, strawberry, blueberry, red raspberry and Greek yogurt stir it up. It turned out pretty good.

Last night was fresh venison and veggies in gravy over pasta. Fresh, as in alive in the morning, in my belly that evening.0

Weekend meals:
Friday night - nachos with leftover taco meat.
Saturday - leftover proscuitto and fontina chicken with pasta in olive oil, garlic and red pepper sauce (no pics)
Sunday - NY strip steak with baked potato and grilled asparagus (forgot to take pics)
Weather has been beautiful so we are trying to use the deck and our new grill as much as we can before the colder weather sets in. Although I'm ready for things to be a bit cooler - it's been too warm to even use the fire pit!0 -

Here in NW Florida, our bow season doesn't start until October 25th. Gun season opens for four days Thanksgiving weekend, then is closed again until December 13th. I haven't even planted my food plots yet, but I have started putting out corn. Can't wait for the season to start.

Tonight's dinner: Meatloaf (seasoned in my special secret way), made with lean beef, bread crumbs and with a side of baby carrots and kale, buttered (with LIGHT butter, not going overboard). Tomorrow's Dinner: Crock Pot Potato Soup served in a whole grain bread bowl (if I can find any bowls like that). Thinking also about teriyaki chicken tenderloins with corn or brocolli w/cheddar for Wednesday night.0

Last nights dinner was a cheeseburger, fries and 2 oz pineapple. Dessert , which I'd stolen from the tray, were 2 mini cinnabuns [my sister made for our friend ~ is apparently her favourite] with espresso. I will take credit for the frosting ... Hihihihihihi
