    I did crossfit from 5/17/2013 through 7/31/2013 (but had to stop because of a non-crossfit related injury). During that time, I went from 173.5 to 177, so *clearly* that is not the answer.

    Surely there is another way that doesn't involve physical violence.

    Divorce comes to mind.

    Has no one told you that sometimes you have to give stuff up to reach your goals? Guess you will be stuck at your plateau forever.

    But I thought deprivation diets were generally a bad thing...

    ...and I most certainly would be very quickly deprived in this scenario.

    That might work for one day, but what about all the rest? I can't poop before I weight in the morning *every* morning...

    ...because I'd much rather do that at work so I'm getting paid to poop.

    Someone just told me that McD's adds SUGAR to its food which makes me want to eat again immediately after I've eaten!

    So if that's what is causing this plateau, then it isn't even my fault!



    There should be laws about this kind of behavior by evil corporations tricking us into eating their food more often.

    Carbs are simply not as filling as fat. Just cut the carbs out and replace those calories with fat and it will help.

    Yesterday I was at the exact same weight for the THIRD DAY IN A ROW. (Seriously, in my almost-three years of logging, I don't think I've ever had three days in a row that were exactly the same weight.)

    This morning, down a full pound.

    So yeah, I know, two days (and three days) is not a "plateau". Neither is two weeks (or three weeks). So many variables affect scale weight...from water/dehydration, recovery, waste, etc...and my scale is even affected by humidity.

    What did I do to break through this fake "plateau"? Absolutely nothing. However, had I have changed something yesterday (and had I not known better), I might have been fooled into thinking that it was an effective "plateau buster". This happens a lot (for a host of weight/fitness/diet-related topics). Individual n=1 experiences can be powerful in convincing us of causation when it doesn't exist.

    Anyhow, thanks to everyone for your helpful (and some not-so-helpful) advice. :drinker:

    I mean, name another food that people actually fabricate. Most of the rest of the "man made" foods are things we extract and mix together, and cook. Breastmilk is processed BY OUR BODIES.

    1971 was a carefully chose calorie limit...

    ...based entirely on the year of my birth.

    1969 makes no sense whatsoever.

    That said, I have since recently increased it to 2100, because losing too quickly.

    (No, seriously...that's a thing. Everyone, please put down the torches and pitchforks.)
