QUESTION!
What's the difference between the OP's challenge and IF other than the fact that she'll be getting awesome nutrients during the fast?
Juice is gonna "fasten" her metabolism too. Must've missed that as well.
why do people do IF?
So they don't have to lug 50 tupperware containers with me? Because they like saving up my calories so they can eat more in one sitting then munching on 50, 100 calorie meals? There's a ton of reasons...
why should the OP carry 50 tupperware containers with her?
You asked why people do IF? I responded. Convenience.
Dropped on your head one too many times?
psulemon said no personal attacks please.
I'm sorry you're offended by simple questions0 -

This is a stupid "IDEA," deputy.0 -
Honestly, you all are flipping out because it's trendy to flip out.
There's literally zero wrong with - in a short time frame - juicing during the day and eating at night. If it's something that helps the OP feel and be more successful, where's the harm?
Someone - tell me what harm could possibly befall someone for juicing during the day and eating at night for up to 10 days, then returning to a normal eating schedule? Don't ask me "why?" - tell me how it could hurt her. Tell me the risks involved.0 -
QUESTION!
What's the difference between the OP's challenge and IF other than the fact that she'll be getting awesome nutrients during the fast?
IF doesn't last 3 to 10 days.
(she's eating every day. you skip that part?)
No she's not. She said "3 days, maybe 10 days of just drinking juice throughout the day, then incorporating lean meat with veggies for dinner and doing light activity daily"
I guess you missed that?
Reading is hard.
LOLWUT!
Reading IS hard for some. Good lord. hahaha
So you acknowledge, then, that you misread her post? She is indeed talking about just drinking juice for 3-10 days. Which is not necessarily going to harm her (although diarrhea can dehydrate you and also cause irritation of the lower digestive tract), but it is completely unnecessary for weight loss and/or health.
not in the least. you misread her post.
she's eating every night.
No, she's not:I'm going to start a Juice Cleanse Challenge. 3 days, maybe 10 days of just drinking juice throughout the day, then incorporating lean meat with veggies for dinner and doing light activity daily.
"JUST drinking juice throughout the day, THEN incorporating lean meat with veggies for dinner" means JUST juice for 3-10 days, and after this period has ended, she is going to incorporate solid food.0 -
QUESTION!
What's the difference between the OP's challenge and IF other than the fact that she'll be getting awesome nutrients during the fast?
The point of the fast during IF is to keep your body in the fat burning stage. During that stage you keep you caloric intake extremely low to avoid insulin spikes. Therefore drinking juice during this would defeat the purpose.0 -
OP: what kind of fasteners do you use to "fasten" your metabolism, exactly?

Really? Did she just call you on the phone and tell you her intent? Did she show up at your door and say "OMG reddy, these clowns on MFP totally misunderstood me"? How else do you interpret written text, if not by the writing style/grammar?0 -

Look at her post history Reddy.
Draw a conclusion.
Look at her weight. Look at the fact she wants to "healthily lose 2-3 lbs per week". Look at the fact that joocing helps reduce her toxinz etc.

OP, why don't you clarify your plan for us?0

deduction. "drinking juice throughout the day" (insinuating day time) and then mentions dinner in the subsequent section as if to modify the first statement. The only confusing aspect of the grammar is the use of the word then. If she used "and" we wouldn't be having this conversation.0 -

Why not maintain normal eating habits while increasing juice consumption?0

This is what I prefer to cleanse with; I think juice would be too sticky.

And if she comes back we'll see who's right. I'm 100% confident that she is planning to eat a light dinner with lean meat and veggies at night, do some light activity, and drink juice throughout the day. Ya know... like she said.0 -
