Guess you never responded to mine about IF either.

Remind me what the thread's about?

Don't do this. It is not good for you regardless of what you have heard. change up your workouts a bit. Add more salad to your diet but be careful. You don't want to harm your health.
I'm going to start a Juice Cleanse Challenge. 3 days, maybe 10 days of just drinking juice throughout the day, then incorporating lean meat with veggies for dinner and doing light activity daily. I've done this before and lost around 5-7lbs. It gave me so much energy, a clear mind, healthy skin, less breakouts, zero bloat, fastened my metabolism. Everyone noticed the difference in me physically and mentally. This is something I like to do a few times a year to renew myself and I'm thinking it will also break my plateau. So whose with me? I could use a few buddies!!!!!!!!!! :)

deduction. "drinking juice throughout the day" (insinuating day time) and then mentions dinner in the subsequent section as if to modify the first statement. The only confusing aspect of the grammar is the use of the word then. If she used "and" we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Unfortunately you're the only one who thinks that. As with every thread...

And if she comes back we'll see who's right. I'm 100% confident that she is planning to eat a light dinner with lean meat and veggies at night, do some light activity, and drink juice throughout the day. Ya know... like she said.

FWIW that's how I read it too. Not much different than the days when I down a protein shake for breakfast and lunch and then eat a regular dinner. Just, ya know, juicier.

Drinking nothing but juice for several days will cause digestive upset. This can lead to dehydration and also to inflammation of the lower GI tract. Which is usually minor, but why put yourself through that in the first place?

I am sorry , i know these work for some people, not so much as a cleanse but as part of a VLC diet...to kickstart..(my husband did one last year and it got him moving in the right direction

you have a liver and kidneys and a colon for normal "cleansing"

    but still...
i grew up in the country
    with dogs
    .....
    ,,,,
and the only thing i inevitably think of is
    ...
tomato juice to wash the dogs after skunk encounters...

How could the plan harm her?

It is unclear how much food the OP plans on eating during the cleanse....so:

"Juicing might seem like a simple way to lose weight, but it can backfire.

On a juice-only diet, you may not get enough fiber or protein to make you full. You might rebel.

“If you’re doing a juicing diet, you’ll be so tempted to eat something like a cake or doughnut because you’ve restricted yourself,” Barr says.

Not getting enough protein could also mean you lose muscle mass.

The bottom line: It's too extreme, and the results aren't likely to last.

What about juicing as a way to detox or cleanse your body? “I haven’t seen any research or science paper to support that cleansing is happening from juicing,” Villacorta says.

Your liver and kidneys take care of that -- whether you're juicing or not"

certainly no one in this thread has suggested a juice-only diet. let's try and stick to what the op is asking about.

I guess we'll all just be operating under assumptions until OP clarifies.

It's all good though. Encourage her to juice and Yo-Yo diet as opposed just instilling more beneficial long-term habits.

Like I said look at the post history:

Close to goal weight - Wants to lose 2-3 lbs per week.
Thinks Juicing is a great idea due to fact it provides immediate feedback through reflections on the scale
Multiple "Detox" and "Juice Cleanse" mentions in post history.

Good luck with your juice fast. I did a 7 day juice fast recently and I will do it again at some point. I wouldn't say it helped with any substantial weight loss but it did provide two lasting benefits. First, it hardened my self control, choosing not to eat for 7 days will do wonders for your ability to turn down that midnight snack. Second, it reset my pallet, everything veggie tastes fantastic to me now.

why does juicing have to be diametrically opposed to having healthy eating habits? I do both. Is it shocking that others may too?

Well, for one, I'd have to set an alarm to get up at midnight and eat it. That's why I have my midnight snack (gelato/ice cream) right before I go to bed. Work smarter, not harder.
