Welp, let's lighten *kitten* up again....nope, not in years. Except this past New Years eve a friend said this woman was blatantly hitting on me. I didn't realize it so who knows. Next time I saw her she was passed out :o

Never been hit on by anyone who wasn't completely plastered in a bar (and I'm sure couldn't see what I looked like anyway).

I honestly noticed it more when I was 400+ pounds, people would say "you're really handsome, you should lose some weight...". So I did and now I wonder if people are intimidated...

Nothing pissed me off more then that comment .... You are attractive just lose some weight... My response was go fist yourself :) im such a peach

Yeah, but at the time it actually gave me some hope. I was feeling really bad about myself and was losing my will to live. But I get what you mean.

I get what you are saying as well... I just think that people could just say I think you are attractive, just not my type - straight and simple ... no need to point out my biggest flaw in the process of giving me a backhanded compliment

I can see that now. My self-esteem was so low at the time I was use to people making comments. I even heard someone say "look at how fat he is..." as I was walking by one day. Or calling me "big guy" over and over at the gym. Anyways, all of that is over now. :)

Yah people are *kitten* and think words don't hurt... when I was heavy and working out at the gym one day, I had my ear buds in so the guy beside me thought I couldn't hear him talking to his friends... and they insulted me by calling me fat. I turned and looked at them and said... I can hear you and I know I am fat... that is why I am here... the look on their face was priceless! Calling ppl out on their *kitten* is the best

Congrats to you. I know that I can be a sarcastic *kitten* sometimes. Well most of the time, but to intentionally attack somebody like that, over an issue that is clearly affecting them, is cruel. At any rate.. You look great! So... Joke's on them! :)

Hey thanks!!!! Even when I was bigger I had sass... That never went away,... And I do t plan on shedding it anytime soon

Lol I have too much of a sense of humor to be anything but happy, lol most days :)

I thought the original question asked was serious and I gave it a serious consideration. I have too many male cousins all wonderful, great brothers, met too many lovely males fathers, friends, friends husbands for this to be gender bashing, lol.

Me thinks that guy hides behind his beard lol. I must have hit a nerve - cool.

My comments are towards the criminal behaviors of men and women ( the movie I watched on youtube involved the horror of woman and men abusing children, it was awful.)

All I can say is .... Da fak

I wish I had the guts back then. It's unbelievable now how much my personality changed now that I don't give a *kitten* what people think about my looks. For a while I had people telling me "Don't get too skinny!"... To which I would ask them why they never told me to not get too fat. I've gotten into heated arguments with family members around that back in my early days of my weight loss. Now I just don't pay any mind to comments... Mostly because I am happy with myself for the first time in my life.

Yeah, I agree, people are *kitten*. They need to take a walk in a person's shoes before judging...

well I just wanna say congrats cuz you did an awesome job! that pic of you in those pants is ahmazing!

lol I had to go have ice-cream just to write on this page, to calm myself.

I for one ABSOLUTELY HATE married men hitting on single woman. How is it you can be having a normal conversation and go to being a disgusting pervert. You would think married men are a safe place to talk to because they are married so their minds are not going to go there with you!! It should be illegal for married men to hit on single woman so gross.

I once had a man with 7 children hit on me in a lift, and I was friends with his grown up children, and he was old enough to be my father, how disgusting is that. I have never talked to them since, and he said " nobody need know".

Dear whole world of men, A woman smiling does not mean she is interested in you that way, its just being friendly and she is just feeling happy. For God's sake, woman smile at shoes, puppies, children, handbags, rainbows, sunsets etc. Smiling is just a form of greeting. How does a douche-bag go from a smile to she is interested in you that way.

A smile is just a Smile ( bubbling inner joy), smile back thats all its like saying Hi I am having a wonderful day, you are not smiling let me cheer you up, like smiling at strangers on the street. Unless a woman drops her pants she is not interested in you in that way, ever. Get that through your heads!! A conversation is just a conversation. And just because we share the same interests ( parachute jumping, photography, white river rafting, micro-lighting, zip-lining, hiking etc does not mean I am into you, ever. And a hug is just a hug, I have a huge family 43 cousins and I hug all of them.

These perverts must even think air hostess are hitting on them, when its their job to smile all day. Now I have cut back on smiling so much, just because of perverts out there.

I realized going through trying to get thin again, part of my problem is anger at men & anger at woman ( I watched a movie on tube a few weeks back and realized woman can be disgusting as well). thats another story. being fat keeps you unattractive and therefore safe. Dear God I want this world to be a safe place for children and woman.

I have seen old men groom young girls with gifts and so on. thats like a pedophile, ( cut of their dicks, dear God.). Those girls need better father figures. A safe place to be.

Those of you worried about not being hit on, you should be happy. When its time when you want to settle down and have children, you will go looking for a man that will be a great father, and will treat their mother with respect and love.

Don't be desperate for the wrong kind of attention. Men who say they love you and use that to get in your pants are just liars they are evil men, with no character or worth. Jesus towards those men " lord lord..... why have you forsaken me"

Go find a hobby lol. An build your self worth and self respect first. ( Align yourself, like wheel alignment lol with the Almighty first.) And loneliness is no reason to be desperate. Go look for quality, And Great Character. This I think personally is very important, when you find the right one, men or women let your family and friends interview them before you jump in with both feet.

Can men and women be genuine friends? without being hit on? I mean you can not even touch someones arm without it being considered as being hit on.

    quoting so this doesn't die

    Yup.

I'm a fat girl, but I get hit on quite a bit. I smile, I engage people and in return they respond with flirtation. it's fine, I know they're not serious but it is fun. :)

Really the key to being hit on is just to be open TO being hit on.

We speak a lot with our body language.

After reading several pages of this thread I'm not sure how I feel.

Am I supposed to be upset when men hit on me? Because unless they're being obnoxious I just think it's cute.

I feel like I should lose my woman card for not being bothered by flirtation.

Someone sounds angry...and just a little judgey.....you may find life is easier when you lighten up and enjoy the little things, instead of expecting bad in everything.

I had an old grandpa call me "magnificent" at the beach the other day.

Made me smile all day long LOL!

When I was a younger attractiver lassie I used to get hit on every so often. Then when I became an unhappy fatty I got hit on ZERO times.

So now whenever someone notices me - even if it's a builder whistling at every single female who walks past - I feel good :)

I don't ever get hit on, really. Flirt sometimes, though, if in the mood. However, now that I know the secret to showing a man I'm interested is dropping my pants (111grace paragraph 5), I will try that. Thanks, MFP! #calmingicecreamtime
