So I just bought a bike and was wondering if I should buy a softer seat or if your butt gets use to the hard seats? It's not an expensive bike I just bought to ride it to work and back home I don't live far from my job and figured it is such a waste of gas to drive

I guess it depends on the type of bike and how much you are riding. If its more of an upright bike, a cushier seat might help. My mountain bike has really comfy, cushy seat on it.

For a road bike I have tried cushier seats and it was just terrible :( My current seat has some cushion and the whole seat flexes some but I would say its a fairly hard seat. I find having really good fitting and properly padded shorts make it much more comfortable to ride.

Had a week off because I have just been too busy after work.

Tonight I got back in the saddle and rode 19 miles at an average speed of 13.6mph

Lovely evening, great views of North Northumberland and the Borders. I even made it over the border into Scotland.

    Thoroughly enjoyed it.

    This is way true.
And you can find goodies along the way. Yesterday I went back through with a bag and collected some leaves and grass clippings for my compost pile. Today, I picked up a discarded 5 gallon bucket for my gardening needs. Woot!
