Yesterday I sat crosslegged for the first time since high school. I also learnt that I need to work on strength and flexibility in my knees, as they were stiff afterwards.23

It was Superhero Day at school. I could have sworn I had a Wonder Woman shirt somewhere but couldn't find it. So--I hit Walmart to see what I could find. Nothing in the women's section. Nothing but SpongeBob or Mario Brothers in the men's section. On a whim, I tried kids and found a Spiderman shirt on a clearance rack. It was a kids size 14-16 and looked a little small, but for $6.97, I figured I'd give it a shot. Two NSVs--it fits just fine!!! AND when I got to the register, it was only $2.00!!!! Win, win.
And it was Spiderman! That would make it three NSVs in my book!10 -
I put on one of my pretty new blouses that had been tight before, and it lays nicely over my bust, and isn't tight over my belly any more! Not quite the loose fit that would look perfect, but definitely on the way there!18

I was able to button size 12 Old Navy Jeans. They went up over my hips and I could fasten the button and zip them up. They're snug, but I can sit in them. In another month, they should be perfect.

Having reached a similar body weight again, I thought it would be fun to try on the cream wool floor-length kilt I wore at my wedding, when I was 22. We're both kinda wrinkly, could use some pressing, but it seems like it fits reasonably well again . . . not that I have a reason to wear such a thing! (I'm 65.)

I just tried on a bunch of clothes that have been hanging in my closet unworn, most of them fit again!!!19

I bought a V neck shirt for the first time, never wore one before22

Was at the grocery store and saw Quest protein chips. Nacho cheese flavor tortilla chip style. Even though they fit in with my general philosophy of "more protein," I decided not to buy them because I didn't want to rebuild any habits of just snacking to be snacking.15

Riding again. Yeah, trail ride but I no longer worry about the poor horse or not having the fitness level to get on, off and actually RIDE instead of just sitting there. I get the fun horses now!:P20 -
Had a brainwave and realized that now that I’m fully vaccinated and masks are optional at climbing gym, I can get up early and go get some cardio and some climbing in before breakfast 3x a week. Went for the first time yesterday and it was great! Almost empty, no waiting for routes or equipment.
Even did a 5.10- with no struggle. My pre Covid best was probably a solid 5.10, so not bad!
Now to build up my callouses and endurance after 18+ Months away from the walls!21 -
Aired up all four tires on my car today and had so much easier a time. It helped that the compressor was in good working order but also it was so much easier to bend, stoop and crouch to get just the right angle for the air hose. I no longer have to worry about overheating when walking around outside either, even in an Arizona summer.16

I went hiking and was able to climb steep hills without becoming winded or needing to rest. I kept up with my family and had a great time.!18

This morning I put on a pair of size 32W jeans I haven't worn since some time before fall of 1995 (when I wore a 34W but kept going up from there, all the way to a 44W)- and now, in 2021, they're LOOSE!
Also, I've been working outdoors daily for the past 5 days or so -- totally unexpected, I'm surprising my neighbors, that's for sure! I haven't worked outdoors for YEARS, and the amount of work I'm having to do now, just edging my lawn, speaks to that - 3 days so far, and maybe a 4th tomorrow (and my lot is only 0.17 acre). There are a lot of places where the weeds have overgrown the curb, so I'm having to cut through those and that is where a lot of the time is coming from. Also, I have had to start early in the day and stop by 9 or so because by then it's getting too hot outside, so no, I'm not talking about three 8-hour days, more like 1-2 hour days, except today I can work until my back or joints stop me. Sorry, I know this is TMI, but I am so excited by these developments!32 -
bgorman65: So glad to feel the excitement you are exuding in your post. No matter how small the effort, at least you are putting effort forward. Every little bit helps. Baby steps make big steps. I wish you well on your new healthy lifestyle journey. Keep up the good work!6

Getting the results of my blood testing from my doctor. Every single result was within the healthy range, except for Iron and Bilirubin which were slightly low. I will add more greens and pulses to my healthy diet to ensure I am getting enough iron. For years I struggled with high blood pressure and high cholesterol levels and now things are so much better. From my "I have to do something because I am slowly killing myself" weight of 203 pounds to 143.2 pounds today. It has taken years to learn to eat well and so happy to see the results, not only in my body but also in my overall health.27

Started a new yoga challenge and realized how far I have come since Jan 1st when I did another one. It was so cool hearing "if you've been practicing for awhile then you might be able to do this additional pose/step" and I was already doing it every time.
Went to a party and wore a dress that I initially bought & wore a lot pre-COVID-19 and 10 lb lighter. It fit just as well, maybe better in the back/bum area and I felt great in it. It was very encouraging for me to realize all the yoga and extra hikes have meant my body's still shapely and not too bulgy in trouble spots, despite the weight gain.15 -
I wore a shirt yesterday that I haven’t been able to wear since 2016. And I have to say - it fits me better now than it did then!17

My A1C was at 4.7. I've been off all meds since the middle of Dec 2020. Just tracking my carbs and exercising. Goal met and being maintained.21

Received some lovely, belated birthday presents from a family member yesterday - including my favourite wrapped chocolate! I'd usually have eaten them all in one go to get them 'out of the way', but I logged just one and enjoyed it with my nightly hot chocolate. It's the following morning and I'm so relieved that I managed!23

bought some new slacks size 14. fit perfectly; haven't done that since 1977!25

I don't wanna jinx it. But I'm too excited to not share it! I'm finally eating less! I'm understanding the meaning of portion control and sorta seeing the scale move!!!30

This is my favorite place to read in the mornings when I have time. Everyone's victories are truly inspirational.23

Actually did my floor workout today, in spite of 5 interruptions from my family in the span of 20 minutes. Just kept going and going back to what I was doing - for me.28

It only took a loss of 18 lbs but current clothes are finally starting to get loose and other clothes starting to fit that were too snug to wear out in public lol. I can finally wear some cute workout clothes!

Yesterday, I had a terrible night's sleep the night before. Woke up grumpy, eventually took a 2.5 hour nap in the afternoon. I kept trying to drum up the willpower to work out, but it was a no go....UNTIL 2 am. I was still wide awake and feeling pretty good. I decided it was the perfect time to get it done, and so it happened! I was up until about 4 and then got up at 8:30 (thanks kittens!), but I'm planning on another one today and no nap. It's good I found a workout I really enjoy and I'm so proud of myself for doing it! Also, my pants that were already a little loose now just want to fall down. It's a good day21

Awesome post.
And I can identify with it, too. Waking up some mornings, having that, "*kitten* it" mood..... then you just turn it around & just do it. It's so much more satisfying when you finish strong.
