I did two unassisted pull ups. This is major for me. I was a rock climber in high school and still couldn't do a single pull up.

A lady from vacation bible school commented on my weight loss on Monday, and asked me what I had done. I told her I ate less and moved more. Last night she told me that I had really inspired her with that, and that she realized that was how simple it was.
And then I got home and put on a size small t-shirt. Albeit brand new and unwashed, so it will probably shrink, but by golly - I got my whole self into it- and not just my head! And I didn't look like a stuffed sausage!

I am wearing a dress today at work that is very much outside of my comfort zone. My husband was very insistent that I wear it after trying it on last night. I guess it looks better in real life than it does in my head, because its 8am and I have already been complimented! I am still so used to hiding in my clothes, that wearing something that purposely shows off your form is still hard for me!

    Good going
I never used to wear dresses and always hid in jeans and trousers. I'm more comfortable in dresses than I used to be for evening/special/summer wear but still haven't mustered the guts to wear one to work.

I've run/jogged 13km this week over 3 sessions which is likely the most running I have done in a single week, ever.

As I was walking out of the Y this morning, the fitness director (who knows me because I've been in a couple classes she taught) said "Ann, you look awesome." (yup, with emphasis). Only about halfway to goal - down 30 pounds, 20-some more to go - but it still made me feel like there's visible progress.

I'm down to a size 14 pants from a really snug 22 (probably should have been in a 24) AND I went down a shoe size!

So, yes, it's a bit sad that it took me 2 1/2 years to do a pull-up, but it's one of my proudest accomplishments ever!

That's awesome! Good job! That is one of my goals as well; I don't think I've done a pull up since grade school, but want to be able to do an honest-to-goodness, true-to-form pull up.

My DOG now walks ME faster. I don't know how he knows that I am more fit. Perhaps from watching me to high intensity interval training, calisthenics and playing with him in the family room. BUt that's his job. He IS my FURSONAL trainer!

Awe, I wish I had a furry companion with me on my walks!

Borrow a pup. It will make you, the pup and your neighbor's happier.

My goal this summer has been to swim to the buoy (which is 6 tenths of a mile) and back during an open water swim with friends who are training for triathlons. I finally made it to the buoy even though I was last and reformed back to dog paddling a time or two.

Last night I had a friend ask if I wanted to join a beginner ballet class with her. This is a NSV for a few different reasons. 1) She actually thinks that I can do it and wants me to take it with her. 2) Despite losing 30 pounds, and nearly as many inches if not more, I am by no means built like a ballerina, but I still want to do it. 3) Instead of allowing time to psych myself out, I immediately said yes. The truth is I'm actually really looking forward to it!

Today I received my first compliment on my appearance in a while. Well sort of. A guy at work said "Your progress in the gym has most definitely been noticed!"

A tunic I was wearing yesterday that's usually tight around my arms and have to wrestle to get out of it was looser around my arms!!

Nice!! I can't wait for my arms to shrink a bit more!!

    Two for me, today:

    Apparently, I have a bicep.

(By the way, Autocorrect thought that 'bicep' was such an improbable thing for me to write that it tried to change it to 'novel.' (Huh. Get used to it, Autocorrect - Get used to it...))

^seriously chuckled at this....(BTW congrats on your progress)

I did 60 push ups last night!! I could only do 20 at a time, but in between I was doing barbell rows and bench presses, so I wasn't really resting. I now weigh 197 pounds, so I think if I lose more, they will definitely be easier! haha

I was so sore yesterday after my workout on Wednesday that I was going to skip my workout yesterday. Even went as far as having a glass of wine with dinner! I was about to change for bed when I thought screw it and threw on my sweats and worked out anyway. I'm extra sore today and feel like I'm walking like a duck, but it was still worth it!

I now have to wear my workout bras on a tighter hook. I guess it might be time to take measurements. :)

Sort of scale related but not really:
I am down .5 pound today after having been on a plateau/slight increase for about 3 weeks. The NSV is that I didn't give up trying to figure out what was going on. I tightened up my logging. I exercised more. I got more sleep. DON'T GIVE UP TRYING!!!!!!

I had a wicked hangover today but recovered without greasy food. Then even went to a Zumba class...admittedly I had to miss all the jumps but the rest of it helped me feel better

While eating out with my parents last night, my dad, who is known for being endearingly oblivious to most things, looked at my mom and said "Doesn't she look great?" (about me) "Just look at her!" And then made my mom take a photo of us. It was very sweet.
