My upper back is jacked!!!
As I was getting ready for bed last night and putting on my pjs, I got a glimpse of myself over my shoulder in the mirror. It made me curious so I got a hand mirror and flexed away! I was so impressed!!! I've been doing a lot of back moves but never thought about how things would change back there! Not too often do I get to see it, so the change is really drastic to me! Victoria (the name I've given my pin-up girl tattoo) is lookin' sexy!!13 -
A tshirt my dad bought me 5 years ago (waaay too small, come on dad, a large?! what were you thinking!?) now fits. Still too 'tight' across belly for me to wear comfortably but OH says it looks perfect. I just hate clothes that touch! lol
but yay! new clothes! am still too scared to go to a shop and try on a pair of 16 trousers. keep saying 'in a few weeks'
Have decided that since we are off to Prague in April, OH and I will go shopping before then to get new clothes, as we are both losing. So I have 2 or 3 week before facing the fear! haha12 -

Lol... if you keep on putting off the shopping too long... then even the 16 will be too large
and I Prague! super jealous right now!6 -
I ran (jogged slowly) my first 10k today! It was aim to get that distance under my belt this year and am thrilled to have achieved it so early on in the year. Had to drag myself out for what I thought would be 30 minutes but when I got started I just thought 'maybe a bit further... maybe to the next hill.. maybe I'll just try for 8k...'and when I knew 10k was in reach I just kept going. So excited!39

Kind of a scale victory but also a NSV. About a month ago I really lost my motivation. I decided to just maintain for awhile since I had some food centered events and a work trip coming up. In the past when I've lost my motivation I just stopped logging altogether. This time I made an effort to still log everything, I just increased my calories. I successfully maintained for the whole month! And the best part is, my motivation has returned and I'm ready to go back to losing!42

Went shopping on the weekend for some new summer clothes. Bought two shirts sized medium (used to be a 1X) and a pair of Capris sized 8 (used to be an 18). These are the first new clothes I've bought in a while because throughout this journey I've been shopping at the thrift stores. But I'm just a couple of pounds from goal now22

I am so committed to maintaining a calorie deficit wherever I eat, so much that I bought a small portable scale from amazon that arrived yesterday. It's small enough to fit in my purse. I also bought a portable scale for work. I've been logging for 72 days so far. My primary focus this time is a lifestyle change that is realistic and sustainable for me. I am losing inches around my waist. I wish I could lose more on the hips but that's okay I'm giving myself 6 months to lose 30lbs. Thanks to genetics and weight my blood pressure was high. I recently cut my blood pressure pill to half dose, and my blood pressure is staying low. I'm now looking forward to my routine visit with my Doctor to show off my lower weight21

hehe that'd be ace!
yep Prague rules! went last year and now pretty much going back to do the same holiday but with some mates along for the ride lots of walking to balance out the fact that beer is cheaper than water over there!8 -
3 boxes of girl scout cookies in the house and I haven't touched them yet20

I'm one month in right now. I stayed with this for a month and am having no trouble at all staying with my diet. I'm down 20 lbs and 5 inches on my waist! Still a long way to go but I feel different this time like I can actually lose as much as I want. Just stick to my calories and there is no way I will put on fat. Weight fluctuations are mainly water weight. I finally get that this time28

My trainer texted me on Saturday and discouraged our ride of the triathlon route for May that we had scheduled for Sunday morning. I forced myself to ride 10 + miles at the end of the day anyway. It wasn't the same route but I managed to ride the distance I needed to.17

my most recent NSV was yesterday...going to the movies (normal chair not the big recliners) and my butt was comfy Its been a long time since I've been comfortable in a theater chair.23

I met my trainer in a gym in our town that is pretty much all weights--with a few treadmills and ellipticals off to the side. I had never really done weight training in my life. It was SO much fun . . . although I have a feeling I'll be too sore to brush my teeth in the morning. This gym only charges $2 to walk in. There was only one other woman besides me, but with my trainer, I didn't feel intimidated surrounded by macho guys. The city activity center I normally go to has only machines--no free weights, and to me this was so much more motivating, not to mention challenging. Along with an alcohol-free Lent, I'm expecting some scale victories, but enjoying this workout and learning new skills was a definite NSV.30

I brought my own lunch today even though we had a lunch and learn with free pizza. As tempting as adding a slice of pizza to my lunch was, I resisted and made it through without taking a bite!22

Walked away from the free bagels and pasta . I'm usually a sucker for free food26

I was helping my husband load and tie down a shopping trip to Home Depot. We had already tied down the lumber hanging over the tailgate when I realized we hadn't put the huge 3 cubic feet bag of soil in the bed yet. I lifted this heavy bag of dirt from the ground over the tailgate, which is about as high as my short head. No husband help needed.35

I guess this is an NSV, although one I'm a little sad about! I pulled a skirt out of a box of "too small" clothes back in November, thinking that I could finally wear it when spring put in an appearance. (I'd bought it last time I lost weight, and might have worn it once before it was too small again!) I could just about zip it up, but it was too tight to actually wear it.
That was 11lbs ago... I'm not sure it'll ever be worn now!
Also, I went for an interview today and my smart trousers only just fit... they're getting loose and have an elasticated waist, no belt loops to help hold them up. I survived the interview but by the time I got to the bottom of the stairs when leaving they were starting to slide down! Fortunately it was an enclosed stairwell so I was able to hike them back up in privacy, but I think I'm going to have to find another pair! (The others I have were too tight last time I tried them, but maybe they'll be okay now/soon.)23 -
I'm going away in a month. Some of the short shorts I bought last year but didn't wear are totally getting worn this year. I've had to ditch at least three pairs from last (which is kind of annoying but proves why I was sensible to buy cheap rather than "my" style).
And today, a new to me (50s vintage) dress arrived that by some miracle I got as a bargain on eBay, never happens these days! Anyway, it was listed as a 26" waist which I thought wouldn't zip up quite yet. Well blow me that thing did up. Snugly and I won't wear it till I'm maybe 6 more pounds down but I got the thing on!
Terrible picture. Resting *kitten* face. But dress.

@VintageFeline Cute dress... I like fifties style clothing! (And red too!) It looks good on you now, so will no doubt look even better in a few pounds.3

I've got quite a few things I've bought over the last couple of years to shrink into. Mostly because true vintage pre-62 is pretty impossible to find cheaply now so I've picked things up when a relative bargain crops up and I can afford it. *Shakes fist at the popularity of vintage now.
So I'm excited to be getting out of my "it'll do for now" high street stuff and back to my proper aesthetic!6 -
This morning I slid into a dress that's been hanging in the back of my closet since I bought it because it wouldn't zip.

Awesome - I want to see lots of photos when you do! (And yes, it sucks when something becomes way more expensive because it's suddenly popular!)3 -
I picked up and moved a recliner all by myself. Probably wasn't safe for my back in retrospect but I did it!20
