@nooie19 Thank you! I hope my mind catches up soon! My support network has really been the best a girl could ask for. 😊
@micheller1210 You’re so precious!
@ridiculous59 I didn’t even think of that yet! I mostly shop at Ross and Walmart because they carry bigger sizes without upping the cost. But now I can’t wait to shop in Rue 21, Victoria’s Secret, H&M... OMG the possibilities are endless!16 -
I did my first ever 10k! I walked it the whole time and it was painful but I finished! Still can’t believe it every time I look at my medal. I’m training now for an 8k in March, and my mile time is slowly getting better!43

First weekend in a long while where I didn't overeat in the 1000cal range.
no exercise but stuck to under goal cals Saturday and under maintenance cals Sunday.
Very proud of myself.
Portioned out the remaining xmas chocolate and brought most to work as well, thus removing temptation at home and giving myself allocation of chocolate each day for the next 2 weeks26 -
Fed the rest of the leftover cookies to the dogs, most of them were broken and picked over and were just too much temptation. Normally I would eat them, because I love cookies. But this year I decided the pups could use a sweet treat and a little sugar cookie made them all so happy.
I also cleaned out a cabinet in the kitchen and put up the kids' treat jar so that it's not a constant reminder of the granola bars, fruit snacks, and candies that are in there. Instead, I put the fresh fruit bowl in its place, a more colorful and healthier snack for us to reach for instead.21 -
I had to buy a belt! I bought new jeans in September, and they are super loose. I'm not ready to buy a new pair yet, even though these were pretty cheap. I just haven't gotten enough wears in! Also, I'm not sure if the next size down would fit juuust yet.
Belt buying was discouraging though, I had to buy the largest size Meijer sold...a 5X...I'm a size 22 going into a size 20, and a belt is a 5x?? And I almost want to take it back, because it is the most uncomfortable thing I've ever worn. My husband says it will soften up and not be so stiff, but I don't know if i can wait that long!21 -
Back to Parkrun on Saturday after a bit of a running hiatus (nothing since Oct!). Assumed I was going to be dead slow, but found I finished only 4 mins off my PB24

Ran my first 10k of 2019. Chilly 43 degree. About 10 minutes into the run I realized I wasn't trying to talk myself into turning around. Maybe it was the cold or maybe it was because I enjoy running now.26

I have had about 3-5 people now tell me I am looking a lot slimmer since I had my surgery. Knowing change is there, even though I cannot see it, makes me happy.25

HUG! I know that feeling all too well. I remember when I went shopping for my first belt and couldn't find any in my size. I learned quickly that belts are weird -- they are sized based on waist measurements, though most people wear them around their hips ... to hold up pants (in my experience at least). So take heart! Belt shopping does get better as you lose! Though it'll always be a little wonky, I think.
I have some stiff belts and I found that constantly kind of working them with my hands... rolling them up one way, unrolling them, then rolling them the other way kind of helped. But as with anything leather, there's a breaking in period.
CONGRATS on needing a belt!!9 -
Ok. Twenty something years ago we did a covered wagon trip several times when the kids were little. I loved it and have always wanted to go again. I just KonMari’d my closet and found all our old prairie dresses. I was going to post them for sale and after browsing their site, all the old memories came up and told my husband how bad I wanted to go again. He surprised me today and said yes! Uh oh! My custom made dress swims on me now. Just for the hell of it I tried on my daughters. It was made for her when she was ten and lengthened when she was 13 for our third trip. OMG !!!!!!!! It FIT!!!!! I am so excited so many ways: trip, weight loss, yippeeeee!!!!!!

Off topic, but I love your use of 'KonMari' as a verb17 -
Today was MINE.
I was totally in control.
I logged everything that went into my mouth (have been slacking on this front recently).
My DH - love him - found an opened box of chocolates. There was one in the box. He looked at me and said, "Don't you like these?". I said that yes, I did. So he said, "Well, here you go then." I refused it so he said, "What's wrong with it then?". My response? "Nothing, I just don't want it." So he offered it to my son, who also turned it down as he didn't like that particular type of chocolate. I was so proud of him, refusing it because he didn't want it. Once upon a time, he might well have eaten it, just because it was there. The chocolate's destiny was just not to be eaten so it went in the bin.
Then, after dinner - DH brought me a bowl of ice cream. He'd offered me fudge cake which I had refused, so he brought me a bowl of ice cream. I didn't take it from him - which I am sure offended him - but told him that I didn't want it. To be fair, he didn't try to persuade me to have it but took it away again.
Other highlights:
Walked 7.62 miles (5.5 miles with my son who since he started college in September has frequently said that he misses "the long walks").
Cycled 12.11 miles (mainly uphill)
20,000 steps
And here's my over-riding insight of the day:
I was back in control.
It felt WONDERFUL to be back in charge.
And the really stupid thing was, it wasn't difficult to do.
But I'd become complacent.
Not today. Because I realised what was happening. And I went back to basics.
No more guessing or estimating or "tomorrow-ing". My food scale is in for a bit of a shock (and will probably be working out more than I do).
Tomorrow I will be back in charge AGAIN.
And the day after . . . and the day after . . . and the day after . . . and . . .

WOW way to go! This is awesome!!!!!!!!!3 -
Gaining back 15 lbs over last 6 months, the victory is understanding why, taking corrective action, and setting new goals. I am not defeated, lazy, fat, or upset..... I am empowered because I know I can do it, because I deserve it 😉

NSVs
- refusing free chocolate
- resisting having a slice of my boyfriend's pizza and having my homemade fishpie instead (he was actually very jealous and said he would have preferred the fish pie. Also said that he felt rotten after eating the pizza!)
- cutting down to 1 cup of coffee a day (instead of my usual 3 or 4.... or 5)
- Walked 20,000 steps on Sunday and resisted mother in law's crumble (it's amazing, I deserve a medal)
- logging my food everyday and not going very far over calories (been under most of the week but have a very sedentary job so don't need many at all)
Happy bunny right here

Today a colleague brought over some leftover birthday cake from her daughter's birthday. I had a look but didn't want a piece because I couldn't afford it.
Normally I would have been tempted to at least try some, if only to see if that bakery makes good birthday cakes.22 -
I can fit into an XL!!
It's a bit too snug for me to be comfortable in, but still - I FIT INTO AN XL!!
I also was able to fit into pants a size I have not worn (that I can recall) since high school. I think they ran a bit big, but it's till an awesome feeling.

My knees don't scream at me when I use the treadmill or elliptical. I made a shopping list, stuck to it, & meal prepped.35

I know it's technically a scale victory, but also a nsv since I've been chasing it for so long. I've *FINALLY* hit under 100kg as of Monday. I think it's been over 5 years since I've been under the hundred, it felt amazing seeing double digits instead of triples.
Also, so far this week I've woken up every morning to do a c25k session, alternating between week 1 and starting week 2. I'm using week 1 to increase my pace and I'm doing it every day since one of my goals for 2019 is to jog 5km every morning by the end of the year.
I'm training horses pretty heavy at the moment, 2 horses a day, 1 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon with the exception of yesterday afternoon and this morning since they were both a touch unwell yesterday (had vet out, by the time she got to us they were perfectly fine again, just wanted to give them another day off today to make sure whatever it was has passed) We have a memorial barrel race (sorry if I've already mentioned that in this thread, can't remember) next weekend with an auction with all proceeds going to Epilepsy Queensland. I'm riding in the barrel race on my mare that is by the lady who passed away's stallion (well, he's a gelding now, but obviously he was a stallion when we bred him to my mare) so a very special, emotional weekend for all.
Speaking of emotional, another nsv being we have had a stressful few days with our caterers pulling out with 2 weeks to the event (I'm one of the main organisers) and I didn't emotional eat. Yay me!32 -

I have officially dropped my first dress pant size since (re)starting my journey in September! Down to a size 14 😊😊😊38

I joined a gym this week and signed up for classes. I’ve lost weight mainly through CICO and walking with the odd fitness DVD. Today I did a circuit training class. The instructor said he wanted us to do a handstand (by reverse walking up the wall) and hold, I stood in shock thinking never gonna happen.
Well I only bloody did it, first time! I was so surprised I nearly fell out of position lol, it was more my loose top falling upside down that brought me down quicker than my arms aching 😬 can’t stop smiling today, my body continues to surprise me, I couldn’t have done that at 268lbs!42 -

I had my body composition analysed and the result was... muscular! Me???27

Braved the bouldering room last night. I had felt pretty intimidated bc everyone seemed way younger and more clued in than I am, but everyone was very helpful and friendly. Hung with two guys about my age and learned a lot and got some good experience. Even completed 5 problems! I’m thinking this is going to be addicting.
My forearms are shot today, though...necessitating a rethink of my workout today to let them rest a bit. But definitely worth it to have discovered something super fun.19 -
Finished all 10 days of level 1 of Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred! There were days I was not feeling it at all but I did it anyway and now I’m excited to move on to day 2!23

Thanks x0 -
I went for a long run last Friday, got my foot caught in a pothole and sprained my ankle. My NSV is that I have continued to log food and do what weight lifting and cardio I can do on one leg!! In the past, I would've given up completely due to a minor setback. I'm getting mentally stronger!!31
