Several NSVs this week.
1.) I ran 5.005k this morning. I’ll be able to run the 5k path around the Aasee with my daughter when I go see her for Christmas!!!!! I never ever ever thought I’d be able to run 5k. Running with her will be amazing. She has no memory of me as anything but obese, and was shocked when we saw her in April. First thing she did at the airport was try to pick me up, lol.
2.) A couple of friends offered to go shopping with me. I need this so bad. I have awful taste and I need clothes that aren’t flowy tunics or baggy shirts.
3.) in my futile attempt to shop by myself, I slunk in to Talbots. I still feel like an interloper who doesn’t belong in these places. I always expect someone to shout “You there! You know you can’t wear that! Step away from the dressing room!”
At 5’7” and 147#, if I can fit comfortably into a size four Talbots skirt, then “vanity sizing” is definitely a thing. (Yay for weight training! )
4.) I’ve been to two social gatherings I usually badly overeat at. I bought a giant pot of hot air popcorn to both, and stayed out of the goodies. Someone on another thread said eating is habit, not hunger. True! As long as I had a pile of popcorn to munch on I was perfectly satisfied. I actually came back several hundred calories under goal from one event. That’s never happened before.18 -
So I went to a Latin dance club with my friends this weekend and this guy started dancing with me who was really good (I'm basic at best) and at one point he picked me up off the ground! Like had me up over his shoulder! My friend looked over and her jaw dropped. All I could think was, "put me down, I'm going to break your back!!" But then I realized I'm not back-breaking size anymore!
He also made the comment later, "I can tell you're a beginner, but you keep up really well so you're fun to dance with." I'm grateful to be in the shape I'm in to enjoy dancing with an expert30 -
Getting to put my summer cotton and linen clothes in the dryer in the hope they shrink! No more worrying about what can't go in the dryer!17

Pretty sure the not exactly unattractive cashier at the grocery store flirted with me the other day.
I mean, he gave me the BOGO 50% off that had expired on some lotion when I asked if it was still on sale or not (the sale tag on it was gone but not on its shelf neighbor so wasn't sure) and managed to work in he was divorced during the ensuing checkout banter. And a sticker, lol.

Scoring a zero on my cardiac calcium scan.18

Being down a clothing size and the ability to run a mile nonstop. I've been a walk/jog/run type for the last 3 months, switching it up based on my comfort level. I'm starting to love running and look forward to the next milestone ;-)15

The usual Thursday workout. Deadlifts and bench presses. That went fine.
Also did 20 reps pushing the prowler on the turf. I usually do these every minute on the minute, but I was gassed and had to rest a couple of times. No matter - I did not stop until I had done all 20.

I bought 2 nightgowns in extra large and they look teeny tiny to me but they fit comfortably, lol. I used to be a 3x.21

I got up at 5:30 this morning to go to a boxing boot camp thingy.
Never been before and there were about 15 people (that I had never met). A lot of cool boxing combos and less cool interval training.
I was definitely the largest there - but not by as much as I feared and I also WASN'T PICKED LAST when instructor said to pair up for the boxing. Then my lovely partner stayed with me round the circuits and showed me the moves I didn't know.
I discovered I need to work on my sit ups, burpees and just general 'land fitness'. I think I have gotten too used to being able to swim for hours on end and not be out of breath.
One of the exercises was pushing a mat across the floor - he called it 'Prowler' - after one trip I honestly thought my legs were just gonna let me face plant the floor!
But some really lovely people there and a few said I did really well and it didn't feel like 45 minutes - I may pay for 10 sessions after my holiday!21 -
One of my bosses said this morning, "You've lost a lot of weight, haven't you?" I actually haven't lost what I consider "a lot", so it's nice that others can see it.11

Had a horrible day of general badness plus hormonal mayhem. I hated everything. Since the fridge was empty, I couldn’t indulge in more than a plain bagel, so I went to the gym.
Holy cow, whatever hormonal brew that gave me the skin of 13 yo and the cankles of a 85 yo was working in my favor once I started lifting. I was in the zone, everything felt light, I upped my weights on nearly every lift, and thought, why not do tomorrow’s scheduled workout too?
Super strong dude I see there often commented, “you have amazing endurance-I see you here all the time and your routine is hard. Whatever you’re eating I want to eat that too!” (Considering the state of my bloatedness today, no, you totally don’t want to do that, but it made me feel good!)19 -
Walked at Parkrun again today.
Eight minutes faster than last week, around a tougher course.
Small victories.26 -
Losing weight has not only improved my health, it has improved my safety. I now am well below the weight limit on my ladders. I was always taking a chance with being on them at my heaviest, but I did it anyway!15

Last night, my beloved took me on a "date" and we had the best time ever, so much FUN and I had on a short and super pretty dress and cute flat shoes, he was admiring me so much, and telling me how beautiful and attractive I am to him and I LOVED his "fawning" over me, he's constantly "fawning over me" but last night he SUPER was and told me over and over how much he loved the dress I was wearing, and how good it looked on me (AND he told me to please buy more dresses like that too --he's so GLAD I'm slim and trim and I super am too! We were standing at a stop light, and a group of ladies asked for directions. As we told them the directions, one of the ladies said to me "you look AMAZING!!!". I blushed and thanked her and my hubby said "see, you're gorgeous and everyone that sees you, even strangers knows it"!
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Talk about a big ole NSV....YAY!37 -
I used to have my groceries delivered. I started when I had my joint replacement surgeries.
Lately, I've gone back to doing it myself. I went grocery shopping yesterday and it didn't wear me out when I had to make two trips carrying the heavy bags up the stairs into the house. Sounds stupid, but that used to make me short of breath.
I love getting healthier! 😃32 -

He SUPER is...I SUPER am, I am so in LOVE and LIKE with him and thank you so much for your reply!7 -
In the past two weeks or so, I've had several people tell me they can tell I've been working out and building some muscle - and another NSV is having shirts like this that show it off.

OMG, you're a dead ringer for my cousin, Jack! Whoa! 😨
I mean, congratulations! It's nice to be acknowledged that way.2 -
I've been doing some vintage dress shopping on Etsy. Since there's just one of any given vintage piece (as opposed to retail/off-the-rack with multiple size options) the sellers include the bust, waist, and hip measurements of the pieces on offer so that people can judge whether an item will fit before they buy. Each time I click past a page because I realise the dress is too large you can't imagine the joy It's ironic because it also means I can't buy this thing I like, but after so many years of not being able to buy things because I'm too big for them, how good does it feel to know that some of these things are now too big for me instead?18

Oh no, it's a wonderful thing. I had such a crush on him when I was a kid. He and his brothers all got the handsome gene from their dad. 😙5

My husband often gets mine and my daughter's short confused ( they are all Jean shorts but mine are a tad longer and bigger then hers she's a teen).
Today I threw on hers size 0 for fun. Thought it would be a good laugh. What do you know they did up. Yes they are tight and I would never wear them like this. But they did up. A year and a half ago my shorts were a size 14/16. So that's progress.35 -
@WandRsmom has got it going on! Look at those thigh muscles! You go, Girl!5

I've lost some lbs since the start of insanity. The surprise was inches I've actually lost so far.
It may seem small but losing 3.5 inches in 2 weeks is HUGE for me. I always feel like the inches never budge. I'm very excited.11 -
Ordered a new bike today. Should be delivered tomorrow.32

I had three people this weekend ask me if I've lost A lOT of weight. I've lost 11 lbs and still wear the same size clothes but have been weightlifting so I know I've changed shape and it felt so good to have someone notice!!!14

My boss commented on my weight loss on Friday (posted previously) and I got two more compliments since then! I've only lost 35 pounds in the last 1.25 years, which wouldn't normally be that noticeable on someone my size. I attribute it to the gym as well; my shape is changing.
Also, I'm wearing work slacks that were pretty snug on me 35 pounds ago. I looked in the mirror this morning and they are officially too baggy to look presentable, so I need to retire them.16 -
