Yay!! The first time I did a half in training, it took 3 hrs 15 min. When I did the officiall race six months later, it took 2 hrs 52 min. You got this!!7 -
I graduated the jail academy yesterday, and we had to watch a video of all of us getting OC'd at the ceremony.
Instinctively, I dreaded the video of myself. But it came up and I found myself laughing instead of wincing. And, I was very humbled by the fact that in losing 50+ lbs, my chest has gone from a 40DD to a 34B, and now I look like a twelve year old girl compared to my academy-mates. Lmao. Thank goodness by fiance is a butt guy. Because in THAT area I am blessed (well, technically I had to work for it in the gym, but still, at least that I have control over.)
Oh, well. I'd rather be flat chested and healthy than be well-endowed only due to being fat.
Also, we got a cake to celebrate after our graduation and I didn't even touch it. I was offered several times and politely declined. I'm getting married in two months, so nobody questioned it
And I got a dress (a rather tight one, too) for my engagement pictures, and I was a little scared so I made sure I had two outfits in case I hated the pictures of myself in the dress. Nope! I am so in love with them. And my fiance couldn't stop trying to inappropriately touch me and complimented me relentlessly. I felt like a million bucks.22 -
BP last April AVG 145/90 .... today AVG 110/70 (also, my resting pulse was in the 100s in April and now it's in the normal range of 70.)15

Went to Parkrun this morning. Walked it slowly and it was only the last 1.5km that caused any real discomfort.
Progress is being made.26 -
My husband, in spite of exaggerated patience with my logging, has been paying attention after all. He went for his annual physical yesterday and his weight was down so much the doc is considering taking him off diabetes meds he’s been on for twenty years. Yay!!!!!! He won’t give me numbers though, lol.27

@Madwife2009 What is a Parkrun?1

@pyrusangeles Thank for the encouragement. I usually have a faster street or trail run than I do on the treadmill. So looking forward to that SUB 3.
NSV today: after running for 3+ hours yesterday, DH and I went to a fundraiser 5k this morning. DH does not run due to several health issues including hip replacement due to bone cancer. As we mingled with other runners he told everyone how I ran a half marathon yesterday. He's very proud of my accomplishment. Then he said he would walk the 5k with me. I was so happy! He made it 4k before he started having isues, so we cut through the woods and called it quits. Then we won one of the raffle prizes. This is our 20th anniversary and I couldn't have asked for a better day.

An organised 5km run that happens all over the world (started in London) every Saturday.

It's slightly addictive. Anyone can go and it's good fun. You don't have to be able to run to go, it's totally inclusive.9 -
I had to shorten the strap on my crossbody purse because it started hanging too low on my hip. I’m still (only) 5’1’’, so I didn’t shrink, fortunately. I just don’t have as wide of a body anymore!15

being able to get into and button size 36 waist old jeans....from a 42 waist for last several years. Albeit, they are a little tight, another 10 lbs or so, they should fit perfect. 34's here I come! I'm glad I kept all my old jeans. It's like meeting an old friend again.13

There are so freakin' many of these things that one might never anticipate: I had to move my car seat forward as if shorter (less back fat); my spin-class bike seat moved upward as if taller (less butt fat made my leg-length extend further downward from the seat); purse and backpack and fanny pack straps needed to be much shorter as you note; necklaces hung lower on my chest; bracelets hung lower on my wrist (if they had clasps) and maybe fell off, or needed bending (cuffs); some shoe-straps needed to be tightened; pants (with drawstrings so I could still wear them) got longer; shirts/Ts got longer, lower-necked, and longer-sleeved; and more.
Weight loss consequences are weird.

My engagement ring has become super loose, after only like an 8 lb difference, and I'm so scared of it falling off that I had to wrap the bottom of the band with several layers of tape until I can order one of those resize thingies.9

Went to the county fair yesterday. Walked a little over 8000 steps total. Didn't get tired. In fact, when I did sit down, I couldn't sit down for long because the seats were uncomfortable. And I'm still over 300 pounds!23

My most recent NSV is just that I got the motivation to come back here again after several years.
Going to give this a go again and I already feel good. Have been back about 8 days and so far so good. Lost a bit of weight already.29 -

As part of my get-healthy plan, I walk. I've been walking around 50 miles a month. On Thursday evening my left leg started hurting after a walk. No biggie had a normal night otherwise. Friday I woke up and it hurt to get out of bed or anytime I had to move it. After a little internet research and talking to a long-time runner I believe I have pulled my hamstring. Not a bad injury and very common but the #1 treatment is rest. After spending Saturday feeling sorry for myself thinking this is it, I can't exercise I'm screwed.
My NSV is that I realized Sunday morning that was just another excuse and researched ways to exercise around the injury. I'm NOT letting this stop me from maintaining my healthy lifestyle. I will be pm a stationary bike or the rowing machine. It would be so easy to fall off the wagon - I got a bum leg16 -
I started wearing some activewear pants from Costco (regular sizes from Costco!!)
I plopped down on my son's bed and asked if he liked my pants. He said ya ya, then Hey those are my pants.
We are about the same height, but he weighs 100 lbs, his pants how ever are 30x30, and he has to belt them to keep them up. I believe that is the smallest size Costco carries. I warned him that when he shoots up those pants are mine, lol.11 -
I had to tighten my apple watch band. I know that sounds crazy but that thrilled me.17

I walked into a candy store, realized the smell of sugar is giving me a really bad craving, told my friend I'd be across the hallway in another store and calmly walked out. I walked out of a candy store without buying anything.
A few hours later I was still craving something sweet so I bought diet soda. Not the healthiest stuff on the planet, but it's still 10 calories per bottle vs getting easily 1000 calories of candy.27 -
My SO works away all week....... he made it to the house on Friday before I was done at the barn, and when I walked into the house in my riding pants, he hugged me and said "wow, you look skinny!"22

My NSV is not my own. My youngest son and I have been lifting every Saturday. He set a goal late last year that he would take his bench press from 135 pound 1rm to 225 pound 1rm by Summer 2019. This past Saturday he lifted 225 pounds. I am proud of his accomplishment and proud that our training together got him to that point.36

Today I fit into a size 1x shirt I.accidentally bought July 4th and I couldn't even get my arms.or shoulders in it July 4th22

New runner. I tried C25K a couple of years ago and had to stop due to pain in my knees and ankles.
Trying again, doing some things differently. So far so good, no pain anywhere, knock on wood. I can jog about 3 miles straight now. Working on building up my strength to run uphill.20 -
Mostly as a prequel to this journey but -- I quit smoking. As someone who smoked since they were 12, this has got to be one of the biggest victories.
Now I'll have actual lung capacity to do cardio, as opposed to shredding what little I had haha39
