I dunno about you guys, but I'd watch videos of her cleaning lint out of drier screens.

She is quite the looker, that's for sure.

Your profile pic makes me think about orcas.

I'm obsessed with crazy people on the internet.

Haha that's funny! Now that you mention it, me too.

    It's Deadmau5.

    Come on people!

    Carbs don't make you fat
    Fat doesn´t make you fat
and animal products don´t make you fat either.

What makes you fat is eating either one or all of them in an uncontrolled way. You can get fat from everything you eat out of control! If she eats like 1kg strawberries for breakfast, 4 bananas for lunch and a entire water melon for dinner she will be filled up and won't get fit because she is not overeating calorie wise....

I´m not too sure if cutting out so many things of your diet is healthy for most of us people. there are people only eating meat anymore, and people like banana girl... Maybe it´s good for their body. That doesn´t nessessarily mean that a diet like this is good for your body as well. I know it would make me feel really sick and poopy!

I personally need a lot of carbs. Otherwise my low blood pressure is going to kill me. I´d feel dizzy all day on a low carb diet. What is good for me might make you sick though. So I think you should try a diet that consists everything in regulation. Make sure that the meat you get is organic from animals that didn´t get fed that soy crap and you will be fine. Than make small changes and see how it makes you feel, Try and error....:flowerforyou:

It's good to restrict (or eliminate) cholesterol and saturated fat. That's proven science.

I often wonder about how accurate her estimations on calories are. On her 'what I eat wednesdays' videos she seems to overestimate what she is consuming.

Sounds like a genetic problems that runs in your family. I am also close to 40 and my last check up the doctor said "whatever your doing, keep on doing it"

That's cool. That's the same thing my Doctor said to me last month. My total Chol was 129, LDL was 53, HDL was 54.
50% of all Americans die of heart disease. When plant eating cultures begin eating the SAD diet, they have the same problems. We don't have to be victims of genetics.

    Haha,
A column entitled "The Questionable Link Between Saturated Fat and Heart Disease" appeared in the Wall Street Journal on Saturday, May 3. To spare you any guessing about where this is headed, I'll tell you right away: The column itself was pretty darn questionable.

The article starts off very dubiously when the author, Nina Teicholz, tells us that a now somewhat infamous study published in the Annals of Internal Medicine in March concluded, quote, that "saturated fat does not cause heart disease." I have read the paper in its entirety, and could not recall any such assertion. So I actually ran a search function on the text of the article, and that statement simply does not appear. So file this one, folks, in the "don't believe everything you read" drawer.

The plot then quickly thickens, and goes on to curdle, for we learn at the end of the Wall Street Journal piece that Ms. Teicholz has a book due out next week, entitled The Big Fat Surprise: Why Butter, Meat and Cheese Belong in a Healthy Diet. So whatever else the recent Annals paper is or isn't, it was clearly a nice marketing opportunity for Ms. Teicholz and her publisher.

well I have to say that unlike the regular paleo diet, this one actually could call itself the lower palaeolithic diet (lower palaeolithic = pre controlled use of fire therefore no cooking).... although I'm pretty sure that lower palaeolithic people ate fruit and vegetables (also raw) too, seeing as they're primates. But eating the whole animal, raw, including its brains, bone marrow, other organs etc, is very lower palaeolithic. Especially if he uses stone tools to crack open the skull and other bones.

Whatever you think. But when I climb mountains on skis and bikes, I like Deadmau5 in my ears at 135 bpm. It helps me keep my rhythm. EDM is better for workouts than The Eagles. Just saying.

But you are restricting. Whole categories of foods.

    Definitely. Thank you.

Just not calorie restricting. Like I said.
So you're claiming that on 80/10/10 you can eat as many calories over maintenance and lose weight?
    Awaiting a response.

Not exactly what I'm saying. I'm saying that if you eat an 80/10/10 mostly raw high carb low fat vegan diet you can eat as much as you care to, around 3,000 calories minimum for guys, and eventually you will attain your best body weight. You may even gain weight for a while. But eventually people stop with the diet roller coaster and the body's metabolism heals.

I know this is really immature, but every time I see the name "Freelee" it reminds me of that episode in the Simpsons where Bart prank calls Moe and gets him to yell for "I.P. Freely"

Wait. I will be able to eat 3000 calories and be at my best weight ever even though my maintenance is 2350?
I'm on a yo yo diet?
    My metabolism is messed up?
I only need 33g of fat? Based on a 3000 calorie diet.

Not just me. There's a whole community of people out there that will tell you that. That's what I'm experiencing.
Look up YouTubers: Freelee the banana girl, durianriders, rice and raw, fit on raw, Ian Cramer, PlantbasedAthlete, Food N Sport, fullyrawchristina, etc., etc. EDIT: and 40belowfruity.

Same message. 2,500 min for women, 3,000 min for men, low fat (10% or less). High carb, whole foods, vegan.

I was skeptical, I tried it. I gained probably 5 pounds at first, and lost it plus more. I still have 10 to lose, but with summer coming on and biking season picking up, I'm confident I'll get the last of it.

Hold on....a whole group of people defying the laws of physics?

    Rocbola, is that you?

OK man seriously. Your maintenance is 2,300 a day. What happens if you get more? You start gaining?
If you seriously carb up, one of the first things that happen is you have way more energy. You move more. Exercise becomes almost compulsive.

You don't think your metabolism can change? Bear in mind I wasn't talking net calories. I'm talking gross intake.

you're right. its still about 80/10/10. I actually eat a mixed raw / cooked diet. Fruit for breakfast, fruit and salad for lunch, and a cooked dinner. Usually rice or potatoes or corn or beans or pasta, all seasoned with cooked veggies.
My macros usually work out to be 78-80 carbs, 10-11 protein, and 10-11 fat on the week.
I eat an avocado per week, and a handful of nuts per week. No added oil, I cook with water and veggie broth.

I saw her eat 51 bananas in a day. It was crazy but entertaining lol.

Then I saw her "thigh gap" video and she lost any and all validity in my book.

Stick to the diet (and by that I mean lifestyles) that are encouraged by nutritionists, not extremists. (And she will be the first to say she is most definitely NOT a nutritionist.)

Its interesting to me that you took "You move more" to mean "moving around", which isn't what I meant.

Going for a 36 mile bike ride is moving more than an 18 mile bike ride. I've got 3 rides over 30 miles in the last 2 weeks. Last year I hadn't done any over 20 by this time (I keep a log). When I go out I feel compelled to go longer. And my recovery is way faster.

The one thing I'm working on is cutting out the alcohol. I've cut back, but need to eliminate. We'll see.

I'm curious, 5III... what is your net with the kind of exercise you do? Are you still operating at a deficit after activity?
