Underwear is so overrated

when exercising.

Right? RIGHT?

I mean, I'm gonna get it all sweaty anyways and won't wear it afterwards.
Just be careful when you go anywhere else in your workout clothes before you hit the gym. Last week I had physical therapy, and he asked me to take off my pants to take a better look at my foot.

Boy, was that awkward.....

So did he notice your foot?

I wear compression shorts. Underwear is overrated for exercising. It just collects sweat.

i agree, but its pretty useful for keeping things "contained", just like a bra does for women.

if i could workout naked though i would. and streaking is god-tier running

Running shorts with a liner for all work outs. Undies while exercising is a nasty no-no.

Wait why does that stuff never happen to me? ...changing my future ambition to physical therapist now.

I think for men it's a little different than for women, and what you are doing- as a man if you were only coming to lift- it wouldn't matter so much- but if you were doing a class/running/cardio whatever- then yeah definitely you'd be needing something! I've seen a lot of free balling runners under mesh shorts- it wasn't pretty- and plus- it looked like it hurt- so for that yeah- some sort of underpinnings would be good!!!

I think fitted capris, shorts, yoga pants (Which many women wear) are fine to go commando- I wouldn't do loose shorts- or baggy sweats that way.

I'm a believer the less underwear I have to wear- the better!!

Like mentioned previously, its different for men.

I don't like my junk flopping on pull ups. Probably the same reason a female with C-cup+ doesn't run without a support bra....

i too prefer my junk to be contained while working out.

for the life of me, i can't wear sweatpants and no underwear without going at least half mast. makes locking out on dead lifts hard... no pun intended.

Ouch, I didn't think about that, my apologies. Working out without a sports bra would be pretty damn painful.

I guess that's the only good reason why we don't just all walk around naked.

Is anyone else confused as to why you need to remove your pants to look at your foot?

And compression shorts anytime I'm doing cardio

    Heh.

I don't do pull ups fast enough to get enough energy to make anything flop- LOL I'm impressed

Definitely wear boxer briefs when working out. I don't think the other gym goers want to see my "outline"....

I guess he wanted to see my leg, and I was wearing pretty tight pants.

Just to clarify this: I did NOT take them off. I didn't even have an excuse, I just laughed awkwardly and was like... Better not today.

    A good fitting bra--always.

Underpants/thongs--never. Wardrobe malfunctions aside, I don't understand the need to wear them--I never wear my gym clothes more than once without washing.

What, the fact that you fell for the *cough* "I need you to take your pants off so I can get a better look at your...foot" line. I'm sure I saw that in a movie once.

But yeah, I never wear underwear for working out though.

    Except...

I don't like wearing pants. They come off as soon as I'm in the door. Talk about an awkward greeting to my two roommates.

I should've known. It all makes sense now. Was it porn?

Right there with ya. Although I usually wait for my roommates to be gone and then just run around naked. Has to be my favorite thing to do when I'm alone at home.

Do you workout in your underwear then?

The gym is pretty much the only place I wear underwear. Well, that and with pants that aren't jeans. But for a guy to work out commando? Nope. That's a bad idea.
