Is calorie counting hard?

I love making soups in crock pot.
Here is my vegie soup recipe - cut up aprox even amounts of carrot, leek, celery, potato into small pieces, enough to 3/4 fill crock pot - cook in slow cooker in vegie stock or chicken stock (I just use stock cubes, about 3 or 4) when cooked add 2 tins of creamed corn, mash with hand held mixer.
Too easy!
Some one mentioned bacon
I have a potato and bacon one too.
Cut up potato, onion and leek - aprox double potato to onion/leek ratio, also about 1 cup of diced bacon pieces. Cook in stock until soft enough to mash, mash with hand held mixer, then add one container of light sour cream.
While I'm at it, I'll add my pumpkin soup one.
Cut up butternut pumpkin and potato aprox 3:2 pumpkin to potato ratio, also 2 large onions and one large carrot - cook in stock until soft enough to mash, mash with hand held mixer, then add 2 tins of creamed corn and one container of light sour cream also turmeric and paprika to taste.0 -

My one "can't control myself food" is milanos. You knowm those cookies Peppridge Farm makes. I have a huge sweet tooth, and I keep a variety of sweets around so I don't go crazy and eat a whole cake; when they're always available I can portion them out. But milanos simply cannot be in my possession without eating all of them. Sometimes I buy those tiny packs of three of them, but that's it.
If we're sharing crockpot recpies, here are some of my favorites, although not all of them are particularly healthy.

I also know a macaroni and cheese recipe I can make in a slow cooker, and it's divine, but I have no link to it.0 -
It all depends on how much you're willing to go through to get the results you want. At first, yes, calorie counting is a pain in the *kitten*. But, as said in previous comments, once you get into the groove of things and eat similar types of food, it becomes much easier. What I find helpful is using the MyFitnessPal smartphone app and using the bar code scanner. As for non processed/packaged foods; take the extra minute or two and add it into "my foods" so you can have it at your disposal. If you don't use the smartphone app; I recommend using a little notepad and date each page (over whatever period of time) and for each day, break it down the same way this website does (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snacks, etc...). As I said before, if you're willing to put in the extra time, the results will show. It's a change in lifestyle. Change takes time. But every extra step you take, it's one step closer to your goal and a healthier lifestyle.0

OMG, do I love milanos too. They are the bestest ever cookies, ever, and I don’t even like cookies that much. TO DIE FOR.0 -
I love food. I use it for comfort, for happiness, for social so on...
I can never give up food...
Salem summed up my thoughts exactly.
I've always been an emotional eater. I've used food as a reward for a rough day, a good day, or just because I thought I deserved it for whatever reason. I was pretty good at justifying what I was putting in my mouth.0 -
Moar kitteh massages, while I wait for that crockpot sweet and sour chicken to cook and calculate the recipe. Nom.

So, it looks like the original thread finally got modded into oblivion. Not even locked, just moved to Mods-Only. I guess it was the orgy references that did it.
Anybody remember the great crockpot recipes that were in there? I'm gonna be hungry in about 6-8 hours....
I was working, what the eff happened? Orgies, and I missed it?
^^^^This is what I'm thinking.... plus how the hell do I miss the orgies  Well at least a thread was started for the important stuff from that other thread.
Kitties.....
I am a little bummed though, now I have no clue what to read with my morning coffee :grumble:0 -
Soup?
Can we talk about other crock pot ideas? I'm not the biggest fan of soup during the summer- which is a shame because the White Bean Chicken Chili at Cheesecake Factory is one of the most filling items on the SkinnyLicious menu.
The actual counting calories is easy. The mental aspect and figuring out the right balance of calories between meals, however, is a bit more of a challenge.

Wow skimming through this one, completely missed she wandered over to this one.
So seriously, orgies are a bad topic, and that is what took down an epic thread. If dirty pictures were not posted, what is the issue. We are all adults and have the ability to not read a thread if we don't want to. I had a few on my FL that kept seeming upset that the thread was still going.....didn't get it because you can ignore it, just like If something you don't like is on tv you can choose not to watch it.0 -
So sad the original topic was closed. I was really hoping for a 5th roll.0

Same  It was becoming quite the nice routine.0 -
I think I'm having thread roll over withdrawal symptoms. :sad:0

Your friends may have been some of those with more experience on the MFP boards who remember a thread not unlike this one. A young MFP user was caught in multiple untruths and distortions, along with a great deal of oversharing... and in the process of debunking the insanity, her identity was exposed. The thread had many hilarious turns... and many warnings from individuals saying Hey, this is going in a direction that could be unsafe for the user in question. And eventually the thread was nuked. None of the usual lock with explanation from mods... just nuked. Like this one was.
So that's my best guess. And if the mods nuked the thread in an effort to protect someone's identity, I say cheers to the mods. :drinker: Even the wildest, most disagreeable MFP users are still real people on the other end... even if they're not the people they say they are.0 -
That's actually a pretty good reason because the whiners and cat gif demanders were really starting to piss me off. Actually I think the gifs had more to do with the thread being axed due to band width waste and the fact that the thread was clearly over. Made possible by people who had no interest in it and kept egging others to destroy it for their own pleasure0

Yeah, regarding the bandwidth thing, really, seriously, it's invalid. Images posted on the boards aren't hosted on MFP's servers. From MFP's perspective, they're no more costly than a line of text. That said, when a thread has become destructive or is obviously on a path to deletion, gif-bombing is not uncommon.0 -
Goodnight, Sunshines!

I feel like I've gone through something traumatic and life shattering to the MFP community after taking days to keep up with reading all of the posts from the first one, finding it gone when I opened the tab today, and then magically finding the new one. Phew.0

So naturally, the only logical thing to do was come to this thread, the OP of which has expressly requested the cat gifs be posted... and complain about people posting cat gifs.
While I considered the irony before posting, I would say this is an over simplification of what I did. I mean, come on. Your post theorizing on why the thread was shut down was three times as long as mine. I'm not allowed to do the same?
I'll read your links, hopefully they explain something I hadn't considered about bandwidth. I still maintain that the gifs took the thread way off topic (deliberately) and made it seem like it had run its course. But of course, the mods offered no explanation for their nuke so we'll likely never know0 -

Kittens are just so adorable.
I currently have a mamma and 7 babies, and they are about 5 weeks old now. They are just so effing cute and I can't stand it. They are in the following me around the house stage but are too small yet to get certain places, and it reminds of ducks on a pond following their mamma. They do all these things GIFs show and then some. They sleep in piles on top of each other, on their backs with their little paws up on the air, their mommy puts her paws around them as if to spoon them.
I want to keep all of them. Too cute.0
