Yay! My second month of the cycling challenge. In May I aimed for 250 and did 310 miles. So this month I think I'll try 400.

    2nd June: 14.53
    3rd June: 31.09
    7th June: 7.12
8th June: 40.15 (my longest ever ride, and at 14.6 mph, I'm thrilled)
    12th June: 23.53
    15th June: 64.03 (my first 100km)
    18th June: 17.05
    19th June: 23.74
    21st June: 14.24
    22nd June: 23.61
    22nd June: 7.69
    24th June: 31.1

    Total: 297.88

Hmm looks like I'm not going to make my target as I only got 2 possible cycling days left this month. :-(

Bugger!! Off the bike for 4 days now with severe knee pain. Hopes of a 1,000 mile month have disappeared but hopefully I'll be able to ride in and complete the Blood, Sweat and Gears 50 mile race this weekend.

At ytour age, hopefully you can use this lesson to come to terms with the need for your soft tissue to get enough rest and recovery to build itself back up for the next ride. The training effect/training theory holds true for all of us. Riding (or any exercise) that is in excess just tears down tissue beyond repair and leads to overtraining or what you are epxeriencing - an injury that needs time to repair itself.

    Ride hard. Recover harder....

LOL, of course you're right but you know, 'old dogs - new tricks' :) Just went a wee bit too hard last Saturday. One day I might learn :)
