Hello! I would love to join this group - I just bought my first Leslie DVD Walk Slim 4 Fast Miles. Only did 2 miles tonight but hope to get up to 4 soon!
I would like to say that I will walk 40 miles by the end of November. I will try to figure out how to do a ticker...
Welcome to the group! :flowerforyou:0 -

Hi Everyone! I haven't been on much but I am definately staying consistant with the walking everyday. My 4 mile WATP tape is getting alot easier to make it through to the end. I remember when I could only do 2 miles. Weather is getting colder so the the winter coats and gloves are pulled out of storage now.
Leslie- So happy the foot healed up quickly for you. Im jealous you get to be around horses. One of my favorite animals.
Panda-Thats great on 14 miles this week. Keep it up its so worth it!
Have a good rest of your weekend guys!
See you next week!

:flowerforyou: Welcome, messyhare!:flowerforyou:
I've been falling behind a little on my walking. I don't seem to have any motivation or energy lately. The biggest problem, though, is that I am going over my calories, too! I really need to get back on track but I always seem to mess up at the end of the day. I really do think it is the darkness so early--it's getting dark by 4:30 already and when you combine that with gray, rainy days--well it seems to be dark all the time!
I am working on it, though. I WILL get through this!0 -
Got 3 miles in this morning. If I have to take care of horses tonight than I will walk over and that will be one more mile.0
-
Walked the 3 mile express with Leslies. Whew kicked my butt. I was so hot. I know I burned a lot of calories today.
How do you count the exercise under Walking or Aerboic? I would think it's a little of both?
Everyone have a good Sunday. Good thing the Packers have a bi week.

Hi Everyone!
Glad to have you with us Messyhare!
It's been a long week for me. My Aunt has been visiting my mother (next door) and I've just had a lot of things going on. We took my Aunt home yesterday and made the trip (about 3 1/2 hrs one way) in one day. My sister and I raked the leaves out of her front yard while we were there yesterday so I did get in a little exercise. Came home late last night and today I am paying for the leaf raking and the long day. Even though I was able to do the work easily, I still have sore muscles today. :noway:
Now I've really got to get back into my routine and get some miles in before Thanksgiving.
Dawn, I just count the exercise as Walking 4.0 miles per hour. It is a little aerobic too but when I put the minutes as aerobics it calculated the same number of calories. So I just use the waking.
Kathy, I go through spells where I'm unmotivated too and the least little distraction (as in the past week) really makes it even harder. But just realize that you will get it back and as long as you don't go too far you'll still be fine. I've been amazed that I have stayed with this for so long. So I just keep telling myself that the off weeks are only temporary and I try to check in here every day no matter what to keep it on my mind.
Leslie, your doing great! Glad the foot is healing.
Hi Marie, Your over halfway to your goal! That's really good. I've got to play catch up now! :blushing:
Everyone have a great week! Monday's are the hardest so thank goodness we only have to do it once a week! lol

Hello, Fellow Walkers and Welcome, Messyhare!
Weekend check-in...
Leslie, glad to hear your foot is getting better; you're sure getting a lot of miles in each day! :flowerforyou:
Marie, I feel the same way about the tapes getting easier, although I haven't bought/tried the four mile. I do remember when the one mile was challenging, but yesterday I did the two mile easily (that three mile still gets me, though!).
Hope you all had a productive weekend!

Well 3 miles is pushing it just a little so only going to do 2 miles a day (hopefully) for the rest of the week. Last night my foot hurt just a little and I don't want to use those darn crutches again.. And the 2 miles this morning didn't hurt it at all. got to remember to take it easy... YEA right!!!!!!0

I'm glad you are listening to your body, Leslie. Take care of yourself!
I checked out a website I had looked at a couple of years ago called Workouts On Demand. Then I decided to get a subscription to it because I really like their low-impact workouts and I REALLY needed a change! (I realized that almost all low impact routines are various types of walking so I am counting them as miles.)
I also am trying a Salsa dance class they have--I got my feet all tangled up but it is fun and I will get it eventually!
I am feeling better after having a rough few days--my weight is up but I am working on that. I think it is mostly from retaining fluids so I am drinking lots of water--I really have a hard time with that when its cold outside!
Have 2 miles done for the challenge--time to do the rest!0 -
Hello,
Got 1.4 miles in today a lunch and then 2 miles with Leslie Sansone tonight.
I love reading everyone's posts. They are great they keep me going and wanting more. I feel like I am addicted to walking right now. That is all I keep talking about at work at home. I am sure people are getting tried of it but I don't care. I have to talk about it so I can keep going.
pmjsmom - I feel the same way some days. I hope I can keep my self going through the long winters in Wisconsin.

Hi everyone! Just checking in. I did manage to get in the 2-mile Big burn workout last night. Hopefully I'll get to do a little more tonight. I really, really need to get back to working out EVERY day. Even if it's only 1 or 2 miles.
Another rainy day here for Georgia today!
Everybody keep up the good work.
Sandy0 -
Wow! You all were active over the weekend! :drinker:
I did 3 mile bootcamp on Sunday and 4 Fast Miles yesterday so I'm halfway to goal, just haven't updated the good ole ticker. We're going to do another 3-4 miles today at our class over lunch so while I'm not doing well on calories (darn Halloween candy) and still struggling with drinking my water, I'm at least keeping up with my walking. I've got to buckle down and rededicate myself to the whole plan again.0 -
Got my 5 miles plus a bit more done yesterday. Have been out all day so far and need to catch up. BBL0
-
I did zumba yesterday and meant to walk at least a mile or two but didn't.
Only made one mile today... Hopefully more tomorrow!
I love being accountable here at mfp - it really is motivating for me!!
Have a great tomorrow0 -
I got in another 2 miles yesterday evening. I'm trying to do at least 2 miles every day during the week, so 3 more days to go. At least it's supposed to stop raining here today.
Everybody keep on walking!
Sandy0 -
Did the 3 mile this morning. Will be glad when I can get back up to 4 miles with the boost, but it will get there0
-
Got absolutely NOTHING done yesterday! (Exercise and/or walking that is--got my meeting, etc. done, though!)
Going to start RIGHT NOW to catch up!
Good job, everyone!0 -
Wow, what I ment to be a 1 day break from exercise turned into 3. How did that happen? Why is it so easy to get out of the routine of exercising?
Well after grocery shopping today and putting everything away. I popped in my 2 mile DVD and made myself get back at it. I knew if I took my shoes off it wouldn't happen again. I felt so good after that I did another mile on the treadmill.0 -
Happy Humpday everyone!
I finally got in a walk at lunchtime today. I did one mile around the block. I'm going to try for 2 tomorrow. Just gotta come up with the right route. There are lots of blocks in my work area so I can probably get in some variety. And I did the 30 minute walk with the WATP when I got home.
Marie, It is so easy to lose motivation when you miss a few days. I know because I'm having a real hard time getting back into my routine. But I'm working on it.
Keep going Leslie, you'll get there. But don't overdo and re-injure yourself.
Keep up the good work everyone.

Happy Friday eve! I live for my weekends, can you tell?
Well, this is a rant so warning to all. Husband got stuck at a clients last night and since we carpool we were an hour late to pick up the kids from daycare. When we got there, the kids were starving, I was stressed, husband was stressed so we caved and went to Cracker Barrel restaurant. I didn't make horrible choices, but being the stress eater that I am, I just HAD to share the piece of pie with my son and being that yesterday was a rest day, I went over on calories. :explode:
So my question for you all is who's a stress eater here and what are your strategies for dealing with it when life hands you a lemon and you so want to make a lemon merengue pie?
Marie, I have to be careful that I don't take more than one rest day at a time or I will stretch 2 days into 5 if I'm not careful. Congrats for rescuing yourself after 3 days and not taking 4!0 -
hang in there Tracy!!! This isn't an over night fix and we all stumble during this journey but we get up and we brush ourselves off and we keep on walking toward the goal,
Got 2 miles in this morning. All I wanted to do was stay in bed and not move today (ToM) YUKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
but I got up and I did it . Have a good day...... still might just go back to bed LOL0 -
Icky, cold and dreary outside. I did my 4 mile WATP, while Fletcher (my dog) ran on the treadmill.0

Hey Everybody! I forgot to post last night. But I got in another walk at lunch and did 2 more miles at home with Leslie. Today I walked 2 1/2 miles at lunch and I'm taking the evening off. I am totally surprised how sore my legs, feet and hips are. I guess it's the different kind of walking. And there are several small hills so it's not all level. I managed to do the 2 1/2 miles in 40 minutes so I'm pretty happy with my pace.
Tracy, I am definitely a stress eater but I don't have much advice on how to handle it other than try to find something low-calorie to munch on like carrots or pickles (I like the sweet ones made with splenda) that won't be too damaging. But everyone gets caught out sometime and just have to make do. So don't be too hard on yourself.
Leslie, good luck with your weigh-in. My weight is finally back to 153 after my jump back up. Hopefully I'll lose at least one by Thanksgiving.
Marie, I love the Fletcher picture. Maybe he needs his own profile! lol Or maybe he could teach my kitties a thing or two. They just like to get in the way.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. I've got lots of cleaning and prep-work for Thanksgiving cooking to do tomorrow.
