that's quite a silly question.0

Pornography creates a false ideal that can impact men psychologically and, by proxy, physiologically. It creates a feeling of extreme inadequacy due to all of the male actors having giant members, which only a small portion of the male population possess, and the extreme intensity and length of duration that the actors seem to be able to achieve. And it also teaches men to be poor lovers by rushing things, paying little attention to oral copulation, assuming every girl is always ready for backdoor, etc.
Men are essentially portrayed as a giant penis with legs, giving the impression that they dont matter and are only good for the pleasure of the female gender.
Make me go without for 24 hours and that's pretty much dead on. :ohwell:
You make jokes, but there are male actors out there daily being told to stfu and being forcefed viagra and drugs to perform to the directors standards.

ACTUALLY most of the time it's the women that get portrayed as submissives. The most common thing for women getting into the industry is for them to be taken into a seedy back room where they are filled in every hole without consent for hours while the male actors get to change over, if she cries she has to start again until they get a great film.
Umm that sounds like rape to me. And if your describing at type of porn, it's the type I've never seen.
It doesn't look like rape on tape, ever. That's just how it is, you can do your research if you like. There is a lot of stuff out there, some people have great experiences but there are a great lot that don't and unfortunately that's the majority, not to mention the studies to back up what I said earlier but hey, MFP doesn't do social justice and intelligent conversations, it just say ooh yes I like sex or I don't. It's just the way the majority of the world is, everyone lives with their head in the sand. I am just putting another side out there, as I do with somethings.
But porn is harmless right? Just watching people have sex...0 -

That's not an argument against porn, it's an argument in favour of stricter control and safeguards, e.g. legislation to ensure that people know what they're getting into, that they consent, etc. Which is also an argument in favour of legalising it, because you can't have that kind of control over the black market of anything. I believe Germany legalised prostitution for this reason, i.e. prostitutes can have legal protection, legal representation, and the government can make regulations for the safety of everyone concerned and intervene if pimps/brothels aren't treating the prostitutes right.0 -

my kind of woman0 -
Does plugging yourself silly with a plastic, battery operated phallus after reading 50 Shades of Grey count?
NO
that's not porn
that's just trash0 -
Idk if it's 'normal' but I watch porn almost everyday which I guess is odd for a woman. It might be bc I'm highly sexual and it helps lol I also would be perfectly fine with a significant other watching porn as long as it doesn't interfere with the real thing.0
-
No. Watching may be normal but, it is not good. This is because it develops unrealistic expectations in a relationship. The viewer probably will not be able to look as good or do the things the actors are doing.
Besides, it's a moral issue as well. Why should a married man fantasize about sex with another woman?
:noway: :noway: :noway:
Wow, guy. just wow.
don't watch X-men movies: you'll never be a mutant--and anyway you'll never be able to look as good as the stars on the silver screen. don't want any unrealistic expectations creeping up on that fragile little mind of yours. just stop going to movies altogether. better turn the TV off too.
and fantasizing about someone other than your spouse? i can't even...
you do know what "fantasy" means, right?? :frown:0 -

Perhaps, my point is just that the very legal porn industry is run this way in many parts of the LEGAL world. No black market here. New Zealand has legal prostitution too, I have seen what that has done, there are now 14 year old prostitutes, not that this is legal, but it became easier. Just sticking another side to the coin out there. I am saying I don't watch porn and this is why, there are whole communities of people who do not watch porn not for religious reasons but for others. The question was asked, so I answered.
I also pointed out the studies that have shown the links to porn and rape culture.
But as I have said before and will say again My fitness pal even in Chat is not ready and not open to intellectual and social justice type issues. I also know that it's my buzz and I probably should just keep away.0 -

Sex is so naughty. Naughty, naughty, naughty. Bad, bad, bad. Must stop pleasure. Stamp it out.0 -
It can become addictive... some people really do have an issue. In moderation its fine0
-
we watch porn together and look at porn pics separately. but we're honest about it. we even share things with each other that we like. if it's honest and open, i see nothing wrong with it, can even add a little spice to life!0

Who doesn't love a bit of porn?????????
WHY NOT!!!!!!!!!! lol0 -
normal to watch it. normal to make it too.0
-
Personally I'm a fan, but I can understand other people's moral reservations / objections.
It's an excellent warm up act though!
Let's bond over a love of pornography lol!

Porn is okay to watch as long as you aren't watching all day long, not having sex with your partner because you are masturbating all day, or paying for it...free porn rules!0
-
Yep!0
-
Also, is the porn replaceing a normal sex life? Is he (or she) masturbating to porn excessively, but not engaging sexually with their partner? That's a problem.
To be fair, this is a big consideration.
It's normal to watch it, not to rely on it.
It should be a supplement, not a meal replacement!0
