Is it norm to watch porn?

I know this is the minority opinion, but I think its wrong and immoral. It objectifies women (and to a certain extent men), it presents sex in an unrealistic fashion, it decreases our sensitivities to deviant/abnormal sexual behaviors, and most of all it denigrates the meaning of sex to a mere activity instead of an expression of deep affection between husband and wife. Additionally, some people become addicted to it (much like a drug addiction) and it ruins those people's relationships sometimes for good. I believe it is one of the factors contributing to the general moral decline of our society.
Now I know, based on the comments on this thread, that most of the people here disagree but I felt I needed to speak out.

No stock answer on this one. If watching it with SO, then both would have to have similar feelings about it and hopefully similar expectations...

Porn is normal, harmless but usually boring in the long run. I don't care if my husband watches porn; he says he doesn't because he isn't interested. I believe him, he isn't into that at all anymore but even if he did I wouldn't care. Doesn't affect ME in any way if he does. For myself, live action porn is boring and I'm not interested in watching it, but Phil Foglio's erotic comic series "XXXenophile" is a great favorite of mine. Great art, always consensual, funny, absolutely unbridled imagination, and erotic as hell. Long sold out, hard to find, but worth every penny.

I don't think there's a problem with porn as long as people are able to understand the difference between it and reality. Porn is full of unrealistic penis sizes, unrealistic women, and unrealistic sex, not to mention objectification of women and a majority interest in male pleasure over female pleasure. That said, people have fantasies, and it's fine to indulge in them with care.

In regards to being okay with a SO or spouse watching porn, I again don't think there's a problem. Most people initially learn what they like sexually by pleasuring themselves - what's wrong with wanting to go back to the basics once in awhile? I have a cousin who gets angry with her husband just for looking at a Playboy. That's ridiculous, in my opinion, and screams relationship insecurity. Ultimately I guess communication is key and if you have a SO with different beliefs surrounding porn/magazines/etc., you should probably reevaluate the relationship.
