Other then that I am a fulltime mom, wife, cook, maid, taxi driver, walking/talking atm machine- and i get paid hugs and kisses I love it-

I complete agree! I work as an Administrative Assistant at a nursing home. I love working around all the residents! We have people from 30 years old, with disabilities that their family can no longer take care of, to people that have had a long life. We recently had a resident pass away that was 103. They are amazing and tell you some stories!

I have often wondered, we are here to lose weight, be and eat healthier. Ms. Brown lived to be 103 and you know that she didn't count calories, carbs and the other stuff!

I teach special education and just started a supported living business for adults with developmental disabilities with severe behavior problems.

That rocks Big D. I have vounteered with the mentally handicapped community here a lot. I love those guys and gals tremendously.

I love what both of you guys do. I would love to do something like this with my life!! How does one go about getting this kind of job? I have volunteered for such things, but I really have no idea how to go about making a career out of it.

I am a recruiter running a full desk... basically that means I have to find my own clients and my own candidates which involves a lot of cold calling to people who really don't want to talk to me (until I can convince them otherwise) and who generally hate recruiters because there are 42 million of us out there.... a lot of which don't have a clue what they're doing and give the good ones a bad name. Did I mention I work on commission?

Ok the times when a deal comes together and I have really solved someone's problems feels great. And the money can be very good too... but I still quit 2 to 3 times a week.

"I am a Security consultant and member of the security team for Samaritan's Purse International."

Samaritan's Purse organizes the Shoebox donation ministry don't they?
We've done that a couple Christmases...

I think that is one of the bestest organizations around! Good on you!

I am a nanny for three little boys 2,3,4 and thier little sister will be arriving in August! Things will get a bit more hectic around that house, tough to imagine that being possible at the moment. The parents work for schools, so that means I have summers off. But because we were freinds long before I started working for them, I usually spend a lot of time with their family in the summer anyway. I'm hoping my "job" for the summer to be spending many hours at the gym and in our garden, as well as revisting the paint and canvas which I have neglected over the past few years.

I own my own shop in a small, tiny, itty-bitty town in Italy. I sell a little of everything......toys, jewelry, make-up, gifts, items for the house.....really a bit of everything. It's nice because my daughter just started school this year, which is directly across the street from my shop and after school she comes to work with me.

After yesterday, I decided to add to my job title.

I am a high school Special Ed teacher in a CBS class (self contained Communication Behavioral and Socialization) I have one student who does not talk much unless it is to say computer or the name of any dinosaur. I am also a confidant, mother (my students tell me I am their other mom), food controller, mess cleaner-upper, budget control, fire putter outer (mentally and emotionally not physically though next year is another year:noway: ) and mom consoler.

On the home front I am a confidant, first aider, food controller, mess cleaner-upper, budget control food wise, fire putter outer (mentally and emotionally not physically though next year is another year:noway: ) taxi driver, main source the male teenagers screams (:explode: mom why!!! do I half to...), enforcer of chores and laundry controller (you do your laundry now before I start your father's and mine!)

On the GS front I am... oh what the neck- just reread above except make it female screams:explode: and award controller instead of laundry.

I need to go now... let's see grades to enter, finals to write, lessonplans to figure, housework, kids to make angry (that needs to be at the top of the list since my kids tell me I do it so well:tongue: )

    I need a day off:sad:

WHAT AN ADVENTURE!! While living in Spain, I regret that I never got to Italy, except for the Italian alps. My husband went there frequently, Napoli. One of my dreams, to get over there to Rome, Venice, Pompei (the ruins) etc.
