Wow, 4th out of 1005. Good job!
I'm going for #1 tonight Probably won't get it cause that time was all I had....you never realize how long 4 minutes is until you are pushing yourself as hard as you can..........................or if you are underwater I guess...lol.
Just slack peddle until the start of the segment saving your energy and then kick it in to high gear. It is kind of like cheating, but not quite
Trust me...that's what I did for this one. The only way to really get KOMs of segments is to go hunt for them. You won't get any top spots if you just ride without knowing where they are. This one was on my 19th mile. Tonight, I am parking closer to the segment and going for it first thing.0 -
Could someone please tell me how to get my exercise ticker from tickerfactory.com onto here? I tried copying and pasting , but it didn't work. Thanks!0

I'm new to your post. I fiished my TRI last week and am looking to do some serious biking now that the TRI is over. Love cycling and being in communication with fellow cyclist.0

This sounds interesting! I am not sure what my goal is because I've never really counted miles. I do triathlons so biking is not my only form of exercise, so my miles aren't all that high compared to some of you! Anyway, this is what I have so far.....
9/2/14--4miles(had to quit early due to thunderstorms)
9/3/14--17.6miles
9/4/14--20.6miles0 -

To stay motivated I track mileage.....I started an imaginary cross country road trip.....my starting point Wantagh, Long Island and headed to Los Angeles.....my journey started in May and I have travled 2021 miles with about 800 or so to go....I'm running out of time.....my rides are after work and days are getting shorter......to reach my goal of 500 for the month of September I need to average 17.8 miles a day......0

I've biked about 200 miles this summer and just started spinning classes. Most of the time when I bike outside I pull my daughter in a trailer. How do you know what intensity to catagorize your rides at? I feel like the spinning class it at the "very vigorous", but when I see that I burned 1,200 calories in 50 minutes I question the accuracy (I don't use all the cals from working out).0

MFP is notorious high on its calorie burn estimates.
If I want to track cal burnt what I now do is select the correct biking intensity/speed but then manually enter the calorie to something I think is more realistic. For example, if I do a 2 hour bike ride at 16.5mph MFP thinks I have burnt 2,016 calories but I think 500 cal per hour is more realistic (based on other online calculators) so I enter 1,000 cal burnt. Yes it is still guessing (which is a pain) but the best I could figure out when I’m not tracking my calories using the TDEE method.0 -
