226.6 today. I'm happy with that!

These days the numbers haven't been moving much for me so I'll take it. Though it could of been better because I ate a lot more than usual yesterday.. more than usual being.. over 1000 calories of cake. Hm.. woops lol

After a full week holiday I feared the worst, but no real damage was done. Hardly any progress also, but next week will be a more normal week (no more breakfast with fresh kaiserbrotchen and milk directly from the cow:-). So CW is 116.2 and LWW was 116.4.
    Succes you all

Down .8 lbs from last week, not much but after a family reunion this past weekend I'll take it. I'll be back on track and back in the gym tomorrow.

No move this week - dammit!.

After stalling for a few weeks then a drop last week I felt really confident that things were working again and I'd reach my 1st goal this week (under 300Lbs). Alas, not to be. Got to stay positive though.

Congratulations to thomasvision taking his second week at #1! We're 10 weeks in now - a few of you have been on this forum from day 1. We've been working really hard and had a few weeks here and there that weren't so great. However, look at the stats! All of the consistent posters have lost at least 15 lbs and most of us more than 25! That's an awesome accomplishment in 10 weeks!

So, whether you lost a few or gained a few this week, remember what you have accomplished over the last 10 weeks. If you have been logging it consistently with MFP, go to Reports and display your weight report for the last 90 days and take a look at what you have accomplished. Good work men!

This week's topic: you all have listed a weight goal. Please share with the group why you picked that goal. Share with us 3 reasons why you want to be at that goal.

I'll start: My goal is 210. I know that ideally, it would be good for me to be less than that, but 210 seems like a decent goal for this year. My three reasons:
    1) My family - I have a wife and two small children. I want to be able to support them in every shape and form possible until I'm a very, very old man. I need to get this weight off so I can definitely live that long!
    2) Myself - it's such an awesome feeling to be more fit, be rid of the weight I used to carry - it truly makes me happier
    3) So that I can participate in any kind of activity. Especially as my kids are getting older, I want to be able to run, jump, and do anything. Being at 210 (or less) seems like it will help me be more physically able.

Alright Men! Let's make this a killer week!

The 200 I chose was simply by convenience. It was also helpful mentally because it seemed reachable. When I was around 260 the thought of being in the 100s just seemed so far. I'm still keeping it as my goal, but whether or not it is final is yet to be determined!
  • This week's topic: you all have listed a weight goal. Please share with the group why you picked that goal.

    1) That's the maximum weight for a healthy BMI for my height.
    2) ???
    3) ???

I picked my goal based on it sounded good to me and sounded doable. More mental than anything.

    3 reasons.

    1. My family - I want to be around for them. My last 4 or 5 physicals at work I had high cholesterol (220) and BP
    2. How I feel - I have had 3 knee surgeries and only have part of the cartiledge in my left knee. THe extra weight was causing near continuous knee pain.
    3. Mental well being - We went on a rafting trip in Tennesse last year. The pictures we bought made me depressed. I had a built in life preserver around my waist in addition to vest I had to wear.

    1) Years ag when I tried Bodybuilding, I went down to 215 and looked really good just not as lean as I would have liked. So I'm assuming that 200 would give me that extremely lean look I'm craving

    2) My wife has started dropping weight and looks amazing

    3) I have a daughter and other kids on the way. Idon't want to die before they have a chance to live their lives and have my grandkids.

I picked 220 just because it sounded good and I thought that would be the most I could ever hope to achieve. I am seriously reconsidering lowering it to 215 or even 210. I am pretty proud of what I have so far accomplished and believe I may have been selling myself short and that even though it may take a bit longer, it would certainly be reachable. Having actually said and written this down, I am now going to officially change my settings. Apolloag, could you change my Goal weight to 210 on the next chart? Thanks guys, I think.

I've found a new challenge. I just thought about it, and although I've been in this competition just as long as everyone else, I've lost the least amount of weight. Now I'm motivatd again! It's this competitive spirit I have. I never like being last no matter what the circumstance. So I'm movivng in the right direction again. I need a few more 6lbs weeks like I had a few weigh ins ago. So maybe your motivation is making sure you're not the one I pass...lol

This is great. I am always up for a challenge and some motivation. I'm only 12 pounds from you so don't let me catch you. I am feeling like I am having another good week. We'll find out on Sunday. Game on :)

    1. I'm kind of confused. Your chart weight loss says about 20lbs, but your ticker says 47? Did you lose before you started here? I'm only going for chart weights. I just can't be last there anymore. (oh, and the TWL coulmn is what I'm focusing on)

    2. Next Sunday will be the true test, because I've alredy weighed in for this week...

    3. Game On!!!!!!!!!!

Swilson, yes I started losing around Sept/Oct of last year. I didn't find MFP until playing with my new itouch after Christmas and joined in January.

I got challenged by a Pinoy and he is on my back all the time. And it seems to work (at least for me), LW 116.2 and CW 115.1. However, maybe I need to arrange a no-fly zone over the east of Holland if Mr. Mackoy keeps chasing me like that. 'll start preparing a resolution ;-)

Sun is shining over here, maybe I can get the family enthousiastic for a nice long bike ride this afternoon. Curious to the other results, succes to you all.

I hit 225.6 today. Slowly, but surely I guess!

I'm going to visit my family early May so I'm really going to step it up from here on. Haven't seen them in over half a year.

    Good job everyone!

Apolloag could you please change my GW to 210? Thanx

My wife has been out of town regarding a family emergency leaving me to be a bachelor for the week. I was able to really put in extra time exercising but was waaay low on my net cals all week. I actually took a sneak peak at the scale yesterday morning and I had lost 6 pounds. Think I ate more yesterday than the previous few days combined though. I did burn almost 1500 cals yesterday.

Well, at first I was going by the MFP calculator for cals burned. I got an HRM about 3 weeks ago and found that the numbers from MFP are much higher than my HRM which I believe to be much more accurate. I will give you what I did 3 weeks ago and this week.

    Feb. 28 thru March 6, 4 hours 15 minutes, burned 3,408 cals
    March 14 thru March 20, 8 hours 28 minutes, burned 4,549

I still haven't exercised today but it will be a short one as I have tons of house cleaning and then going to the airport to pick up my wife. Also, like I mentioned earlier, I worked out quite a bit more this week because my wife was out of town and I had the time to dedicate more to exercising. Don't think it will be quite this much next week. Also, I exercise everyday. I have only missed 2 days since New Years.
