Mine use to bounce around between 180-190 lbs
I finally got down to 179 about 2 weeks ago now back at 181 after Christmas.....
My weigh ins are also Saturdays but I havent posted since I gained weight back :grumble:
I hope to get out of the 170s soon too....that would be great if I could do so before my birthday in February....I have to really push it though0 -
I'm not actually in that weight range (though that's about where I started) but I just wanted to put in a quick word about daily weigh ins, cuz I think they can be really beneficial done with the right attitude.
Now I do have a weekly "weigh in" day (Saturdays, so that I stay good on Fridays, but can splurge on Sat or Sun), but I do weigh myself everyday. The key is to NOT compare your weight to the days directly preceeding or following. Weight fluctuates a good amount from day to day- whole lbs even- not even counting when you've done stressful workouts or your period. The best option is to compare your weight from week to week- so compare Mondays only to the previous Monday's weight. And just pick one day to make your official day to record. Even if you just keep 3-5 weeks at a time, it really helps you see the overall progress without worrying about 1 or 2 freakishly high weigh in days.
Good luck!

yeah i was thinking that too. that weighing in daily would help me so if i didn't have a good weekly weigh in i wouldn't be too surprised. so far since day one of using my new treadmill i've gained though. and on a 5'3 frame that's really high...so i hope to start losing soon instead of gaining.0 -

yeah i was a bit discouraged too since i've only gained since using my new treadmill faithfully. but hey just post your weight here periodically if you'd like and i will too. hopefully others will join us who are in the same range... and we'll all get through it0 -

Yea, I'm 5'3" also- last Jan I was 183. Spent Jan-Aug making small adjustments in my eating/working out habits, got down to about 174 and then really starting trying to get fit in Sept- and am down to 151!! So def stick with it- cuz even though it seems impossible- it can be done with persistence!
How long have you had the treadmill? If you've just had it a week, you are proly retaining water- new/strenuous physical activity causes your body to retain water to repair the muscle.0 -

I am 5'2" and my heaviest was 183. Now I'm at 172 and trying to get back to 125. Prepregnancy (3 kids ago) was 104. That's a bit too skinny. I tried gaining weight then and couldn't. Now I'm trying to lose.0

i feel like it's going to take me forever to get out of the 170's i keep fluctuating0 -
I've been in the 170's since Mid-October. From Oct - Nov I lost about 20lbs quickly, and now I've bounced around 170-175 from Thanksgiving until now. I hit 168 a couple of times on days I didn't eat much, or when I was sick. Giving myself 10 weeks to reach 155, my goal by my 26th birthday.0

I agree with Gonk! I weigh myself morning and night to keep myself honest. I'm able to finally fit into my size 8 jeans even though I've not lost any weight. That's a bit deceiving for those who don't weigh or only do it periodically and go by how their clothes fit. I look at my daily weigh-ins as keeping boundaries for myself.0 -
I was at 178 for quite a while and then after the holiday eats I jumped to 180... I finally decided to get serious about losing weight especially since I have noticed hypoglycemic symptoms. I went to the doctor this week for detailed bloodwork which should tell me which foods I really need to avoid (I may need to avoid gluten).0

I was struggling for months to get out of the 180s and today I was so pleased to see my scale read 176.4! I have been in the 170s for only about two weeks so I am really happy about this. While I enjoy the 170s, I can't wait until I can say goodbye!
I do weigh myself daily just to keep myself on track. Since doing this I have seen a lot less of the "Why did I gain that muchs" and it really does help me plan out my day.0 -
At 176 I'm struggling to get out of the 170s too! Up until the last 3-4 years (and menopause & metabolic issues) I never weighed more than 155 lbs. Much tougher to loose for me now. But thanks to everyone on this site, I finally believe I CAN do it! It just takes more persistence. And knowing that I'm in such good company really helps. It's not so easy being married to a guy that still has six pack, ripped abs and eats ice-cream and donuts every day. He cannot relate at all!! I really need support - just like all of you!

Right there with ya! (And Hi... this is my first post on MFP)
I've been bouncing between 172 and 175 for the last 3-4 months... my fault, I keep letting too many carbs in, and even healthy carbs will bring me to a grinding halt if I go over about 40 grams a day. *sigh* Good news is, I've found I can maintain like crazy, even through the holidays, so yay!
I'm back on the wagon now, de-carbing seriously and focusing on protein and I expect to be out of the 170s by next Monday (I was 173 yesterday). Hate being stuck here and wanna get that scale moving again!0 -
we can do this everyone! 178.40

Thats me! (but I'll settle for 140s...or even 150s if im toned and not jiggly anymore)
I'd love to join you if you dont mind
Im 172.4 today....started at 175 and would LOOVE to wake up to 169 tomorrow morning haha It just SOUNDS so much smaller than 170s at this stage.
I weigh daily, too. I find that it helps keep me focused and keeps me aware of sodium/water weight fluctuations so I dont freak out if Im up a few ounces on a "scheduled weigh-in" day.
Hope everyone sees those 160s SOON!0 -
I was 185 in July, and am now down to 171.4 as of this morning (I fluctuate a bit, up to 172-3)
My ultimate goal weight is to be down to 130, but for now I'd love to just say goodbye to the 170's for good!
I've just been doing food/portion changes, so I'm hoping once I incorporate some more exercise I'll say hello to the 160s0 -
I also weigh daily. It keeps me focused and let's me not lose track of my goals!0

Soooooo close!!
I was 170.6 yesterday...SOOO close to seeing those 160s!! I thought MAYBE this morning would push me through, but Im still 170.4. TEASE!!
I will only "count" it if I stay in the 160s for a few days in a row....but Im hoping those few days are straight ahead!!!
Hope everyone else is doing well this week! Im a little nervous about the weekend since that is when I always sabotage myself and either drink wine or eat some formerly-delicious-now-i-know-its-nasty kinda meal.0
