So it turns out my 'fluctuations' are all down to how one stands on my scales  closer to the middle = lower weight. How annoying is THAT?!
Gonna use my scales @ work from now on! They put me at 178.5 (with clothes)
  • i'm tired of these 170's
  • I took the battery out of my scale and brought it to work and put it in my pencil box. lol. (that way I wouldn't weigh daily)
    It was discouraging.
I'll bring my battery back home on Mar 1 and we'll see where I"m at.
I've been doing tae bo all week.

Good luck!! Maybe it's time to try a different tactic. Also, I can't see most of your food entries because it seems like you never press the "complete this entry" button at the end of each day.
  • Who? Me? I don't log food. I do have a written log with exercise entries but that's it.
I do watch my calorie intake though and protein, sodium, sugar, etc.
I've not weighed since the 23rd...I'm hoping to have good numbers when I weigh again.
I've worked out 6 days straight. Today is my rest day.
    How are you doing?

I finally have been in the 170's for 2 weeks and I have to say, I am sooo excited. YET, I was stuck in the 170's a couple of years ago for months. I cannot wait to get in the 160's. It will be my lowest weight ever (besides puberty), and I cannot wait to experience how good I will feel.

Great job on those who have gotten out of them and I hope I can join the "trying to get out of the 160's" group very soon!

Ah, okay. Not logging food would make it much harder to lose weight, unless you're fully aware of how many calories are in everything you eat. I didn't realize how many calories some seemingly innocent foods had until I looked them up in here.

I had a rough few days, my calories went through the roof. I really have to avoid chocolate like the plague, because that triggers positive feedback and I get hungrier and hungrier. Hopefully I'll be down to a reasonable weight by the time Easter rolls around. I gained two pounds since last Monday.

My heaviest was 177, and I was 175 when starting MFP two weeks ago. I am on the cusp of the 160s and am DYING to see that stupid 7 as the middle number off of my darn scale! My weigh in this morning was 170.2. Grrrr .3 lbs away from the 160s!!!

I am so close I can almost taste the 160s (and if I could taste them they would be calorie free  )

Yeah I definitely count. I count everything. It's an obsession really. I'm always looking at nutirion labels as well as ingredient labels. Its important.

Ugh That would be so frustrating I can't wait to see the 167 too. I've mentioned before that I wouldn't count the 169 and 168. lol It's not real until it says 167 Haha

I completely agree with you!!! Somehow 167 will make it REAL. I can't wait!!! Was thinking today that maybe, just maybe, by Easter I will be there. And maybe, just maybe, I will be in the 150's by June. Wouldn't that be amazing? (repeat over and over and over) I will do it, I will do it, I will do it, I will do it, I will do it!

Good luck everybody, you can do it! I wish I had seen this group last week. Before I joined MFP I would always get down to 171 or 172 and then Christmas or Vacation and I would shoot back up to 178. But the past few days, my scale has been between 169.4 and 170.6, so I'm hoping that by tomorrow, it will stay under that 170 mark. For good! Good luck again!

I have been trying to get out of the 170s for about a decade. When I was in Weight Watchers I joked that I was in "premature maintenance." I vowed to lose slowly, permanently, but following their advice, I lost a lot and gained it all back.

MyFitnessPal let me set more realistic goals. Last week I cut my calorie daily goal by 25 calories just to see if I could do it without going brain dead (from 1600 to 1575.) It seemed to have kick started something. The other change that I made was to eat salad or cabbage every day with vinegar on it. This might be the path I was looking for.

We are heavy people - 3 pounds here or there is hard to know if it is real weight loss or just the scale that day. How do your clothes feel? How are your knees? Do you make time to work up a sweat 2-3 times per week?
If you only have time for one exercise, HANG IN THERE!

I feel like I may jinx it if I put it out there in writing...but I may have beaten the 170s!!!! It has been almost one week since I have seen that dreaded 7 as the second digit on my scale. I was at 169 last Friday and have fluctuated between 166-67 since (I weigh daily). However, I am still too close to the 170s for comfort.

I hope everyone else is close to saying goodbye to that dreaded 7!!!!

Melsinct - you ROCK it! Sounds like you have graduated from the 70's and can finally move onto the 60's. How exciting!

I started at 177, and have made it down to 173.2. I am so excited to hit 169, it is my new goal. I can't wait till I see the 170's disappear on my scale! I also weigh everyday, but if it fluctuates within one pound I don't sweat it. I know as long as I am working hard, and making healthy choices, I know I will reach my goals.
