It can be hard, but we are taking 1 day at a time. 24 hours is a big accomplishment for some and should be celebrated. We are just trying to take the focus off the scale and more onto ourselves. A lot of us do not know our bodies. Can't recognize the signs it gives us. So we are having a month of self observation.0 -
Very rough morning for me. I caved in! I was so full of myself and have been noticing the changes that I though why not? I could use the instant gratification! What I was not ready for was the scale had not moved and it lead me to feeling depressed and lead to a binge and now I feel disgusted with myself.
I let the scale win! I let it dictate who I am and how I feel and how I let it define me.
Actually, I am not letting the scale win, there is a lesson here and today I will reflect upon this and try and figure out why I let the number set the mood for my day. Why I could not be satisfied with seeing and feeling the change in my body, why did I need to know that number to justify all that I am doing is working?

You got it Karen!!! Thats the reason for this challenge. We have to figure out why we bow down to that wretched scale. You didn't fail. You accomplished almost 15 days without the need of the scale!!
On another note. You haven't gained any weight. So that says you've been on task. If you hadn't you would've gain. Remember to just your measurements.0 -
Just checking in to see if everyone is doing ok. We are in our last full week of this challenge. I know a couple of us are still going strong and a few of us had a brief lapse but started over again. I hope to see everyone on March 1st. I can't wait to hear how you have triumph over the scale!!0

I can't wait to weigh in on Tuesday! A little scared too..... I know I haven't gained weighr, but I'm worried that I may have only lost a pound.0

That fear has been trying to creep up on me for the pass couple of days, but I've been shaking it off. Isn't it funny how our inner selves try to play with our heads.
Come on Tuesday!!0 -
YES.. I'm not weighing myself for a month lol Evil scale..... I am however going to keep an eye out on my body fat %0
-
Tuesday can't come soon enough! I got a new scale that measures fat %.
After this Challenge I think I'll only be weighing once a week or once every other week.
Cant wait to see everyones results!0 -
ITS THE LAST DAY!!!! WOOOOOOHOOOO!!!
Ok ladies and gent tell your stories. How was this month for you? How did you struggle? How did you overcome the struggle? What did you notice about yourself when you were less focus on the scale? Did you take your measurements? Did you see a difference?
Tell us everything!!!
I struggled on the days I went to the doctor & my nutritionist. I wanted so bad to just look at the scale both days I got weighed but I didn't and I made sure I told the nurse and my nutritionist not to tell me. I know none of you would have been the wiser, but if I cheat on you then I'm cheating on myself. Thats not worth it. I also struggle a little last week. It was the home stretch yanno. I was so anxious!! But the scale is still in my trunk. My husband just flew in from Japan on Friday. I think he thought I was joking when I said I put it in the trunk. When he went to put in suitcase in there he started laughing. I had to make this challenge fail proof for me. The next time I do this type of challenge I will try to leave it in the bathroom and see how long I can go without stepping on it.
I noticed last week I was sort of bloated which made me feel a bit heavier. It could be all in my head though. Our heads can play mind games. I've lost 4" in the waist so even if I have dropped a pound my body has gone through so positive changes. :-)0 -
Its March 1st!!! Weigh in people and lets us know how you did this month without the scale!!

Lost 8.4 lbs
Lost 4.5 inches in my waist
This was a lonnnng month but it was also exciting. I hope everyone had a good experience with this challenge. Whether you completed the entire month, a week or just a few days just remember this was about gaining control over a tool and not allowing it to rule your emotions. So just by going a day longer without weighing yourself was an accomplishment. So bravo to you all!
This month challenge will be a water in-take challenge. Some of us have problems in that area so thats an area I want to focus on.0 -
Congrats Desirai! You did it!
I am still avoiding the scale. After the pitfall I had I think that it is best for my mindset to continue tuning into my body and acknowledging the NSC victories, for now.

Thats very insightful of you Karen. I will continue to support you in your efforts.0 -
Last day -- hooray! I did cheat though so I don't deserve any praise. I'd have to lock up my scale to not even be tempted to go on it.
I went from 145.8 January 31st to 141.6 on March 1st, so a pound a week, which I'm very happy with. When I get closer to my goal, then I'll do better at avoiding the scale and just using a tape measure!0 -
I lost 3.4 pounds... I was actually surprised.
I took this challenge because I was STUCK in the same place I always get to in weight loss. I could never get over that hump. So, although I'm disappointed that after four weeks, I only lost 3.4 pounds, I'm happy because I am now closer to my goal than I've ever been.
I learned that not weighing everyday or week didn't motivate me much. I felt the loss in my clothes, but lately my mind has been telling me that I'm feeling heavier... not lighter. Darn mind games!!!! I probably won't weigh myself everyday like I was before, but I will not go a month again. I'm pround that I got through it, but I need to see results to push me harder or to encourage me that I'm on the right path.
SIX pounds to go!!!!!!!!!!!!0 -
You both did well. I don't consider weighing a cheat unless you did it every single day.....I doubt you did that did you :noway: LOL
I don't know if I could do a whole month again either. Maybe two weeks...4? Naaaaaaaah lol
Thanks for joining in on the journey!!0 -
I lost 5lbs and have been losing a bit every day now.
Very excited about it.
I am going to stay away from my scale and only weigh in every other week.
Congrats to you all on your loss!0 -

How do you determine how much water you should drink?0 -
I hate I missed this challenge last month, I was wondering if we could do it again starting April 1st? My new plan is to only weigh in once a month I haven't been on my scale in about 3 weeks, I had a 'traumatizing' experience on the scale, it showed a 3lb gain in a week after working out 5 days and twice on 3 of those days, after that I said I was only gonna weigh once a month, so on April 1st will be a month for me.0

You are doing so good on your own. That is a huge accomplishment being accountable for yourself. If I remember I will start the thread on April 1st. If not you can. I'm no longer a slave to the scale. I am doing well just by monitoring my own body changes. I'm getting muscles
FYI:
The best way to track weight loss is through body fat and not the scale. The scale doesn't know the difference between a real pound gained and water retention. It doesn't know the difference between fat loss and muscle loss. I try to get people to use the measuring tape and track their fat loss using a omoron fat loss monitor (amazon). Fat loss is what you want to achieve and this is the best way to do it without all the ups and downs of the scale.0
