Started late last week but still havent managed to get all the way through a work out - stupid asthma!
Still, what I can do is exhausting enough and burns off good calories.

  • I am starting insanity today. I joined the MFP community last week and have found all the support and motivation to be very encouraging. Hopefully I can keep up :D

Pure cardio today!! It was a good workout. Although I could've burned more calories but had to take a few breaks and actually pause the dvd.

I have a question....how do you remember to keep the core tight? I have so much trouble with that. I can never remember to do that. Does anyone have tricks for that?

I've been switching between P90X and Insanity since 1/3. Only started Insanity because I'm getting tired of repetitiousness of 2 cycles of P90X. Man is Insanity hard! My fifty year old body hurts from the pounding but it's all good. Keep pushing play.
  • Yeah, my wife and I did the whole thing last year. I swear we were going to go find him and kick his *kitten*! lol it gets WAY tougher. Tie up those sneakers tight!
  • Just started today with the Fit Test, my legs are jelly. Upper body wasn't as horrible because I've been working it more, but my legs are gonna hate me tomorrow. Heck of a workout just doing the fit test. Ready to get into the actual workouts.

It gets easier to keep the core tight! I really learned this during the recovery week.

    Thanks Reanne.

Also, if you don't me asking how much weight have you lost by doing Insanity? When did you first start seeing the weight loss?

Yay!! Week 1 complete! Today is my rest day! As hard as Insanity is, I'm gonna miss working out today! I am going to Martin Nature Park, so I'll get some walking in. :)
I hope everyone's workout is kicking their booties!! I know mine is!
As for tightening the core, I count on Shaun Ts reminders! I forget to do it as well.......it will become habit as some point I bet! Until then - maybe you could put a post-it with a reminder on your TV????
Anyways......enjoy your Sunday!!! Let's kick some butt this week!!!!
    ARE WE GOOOOOOOD!?!?!?
  • Ok, were you all in good shape before you started insanity? Can a 200 lb 48 year old who basically walks for excercise take on the challenge?

This is my 2nd time starting Insanity. The first time I started it I had been working out for 3 months, but it was still very difficult. But I had to stop not because I couldn't do it but it was a different reason. This time around I hadn't really worked out for 2 months and it was extremely difficult. I was really sore for a few days. But for me as of right now it's completely doable. But I think for you, you have to see how your health it. It's different for everyone. Maybe ask your doctor? I have read here that people have started out doing Insanity when they weren't in really good shape but they did it. Again, it depends on the person. So I can't really answer that question. Sorry!

Did Cardio Power and Resistance today. I actually enjoyed this workout today. Crazy!! Don't get me wrong though, still wanted to hit Shaun T and all the other people in the dvd. Lol. But felt really good once I was done.

    Pure cardio - check
Desire to punch Shaun T - check
Energy to make it through the day despite desire to punch Shaun T in the face - check
    LOL
I DID IT!!! Man I just wanted to get back in bed - but I did it!!! YAY ME!!!!
    Who else pushed play!?!?

I pushed play and did the pure cardio. God...I hate Shaun T while working out. Lol. Although I guess I must have been a little tired today. I burned a little bit less calories than last time I did pure cardio. Oh well...at least I did it. I will push myself more tomorrow.

Cinico- MFP has set me at 1200 calories. So I am eating that and my exercise calories. So I think I am doing ok calories wise. I think I just didn't get enough sleep last night.

I was just reading your blog and just wanted to say that you're doing great!! I can't wait to see results.

It was really difficult the first day. I thought I was going to pass out just doing the fit test. It's still really difficult but I am getting a little better. I still have to take breaks and I can't go as fast as the people on the dvd. So I think you just have to continue doing it and like Cinico said do the best you can.
