I heard bananas were good for you in ...moderation, like maybe one a day. But I SOOOO dont like them, I like the flavor....just not the fruit.. weird huh??
Me tooo! It's the texture I don't like. I will blend it into a smoothie though.0 -
I for one try not to eat fried foods, as for sweets as long as in my calorie count and stick with the serving I'm ok. I was told to eat at least my calorie count (not under or over). Is this true? I'm trying to lose at least 1.5 lbs a week. I dont feel I'm doing very well with just only losing .5 most weeks. :sad:

Personally I no longer drink eggnog or eat buttered popcorn at the movies because a few years back I read they are enormously fattening ~ not worth it to me.
But I'm sure those aren't the foods on the list you're curious about0 -
Bananas? One Banana a day is NOT going to stop you from losing weight. Moderation, Maintaining and not going above your Calories and Sugars for the day and you'll be fine. You could eat a ton of carrots and go over on your sugar totals. Fruit IS sugar! MODERATION folks. I have been eating one banana a day, 3 times a week for the last 16 months and have lost 122lbs thanks to Myfitnesspal! ! I'm down to 185 and a 32 inch waist. I must say, I LOVE myfitnesspal! It 's definately my friend because it follows me everywhere I go or plan to go!. I am now in maintain mode. MODERATION is key. Good luck to all. You can do it!0

bananas are an easy fruit to eat.. i think thats why im attracted to eat them.. peel the easy peel skin off and away you go, no pips/seeds, no washing cos u dont eat the outside.. well i dont anyways :-/ and the taste and texture doesnt vary as much as it would on say a red apple.. and apparently not every fresh food grocer wants to sell my types of apples, or sell at a reasonable price which makes it abit harder. im not huge on the fruit thing (obviously ) but a banana a day wont hurt me0

I just think its pretty sad that this link leads to a purchase program to learn how to lose weight..... purchase this for a one time cost to learn the secret of those five never eat foods. "isn't that like talking out of both sides of your mouth"0

actually, i got a list of foods that will prevent you from losing weight from my doctor this week, and bananas is one of them.
I've eaten one banana every day for the past year and a half. I met my weight goal in 7 months and have been maintaining since. Bananas are full of good nutrients. About 105 calories.0 -
Bread, Pasta and White rice. Especially white rice sits on the lining of your tummy.....Get rid of sugar drinks. Good Luck.
If white rice ( never heard of it " sitting on the lining of one's tummy ") is so dangerous, why are the several billion people living in Asia and India not on average more obese ? Maybe, because rice if eaten in moderation is harmless......0 -

actually, i got a list of foods that will prevent you from losing weight from my doctor this week, and bananas is one of them.
Hmmmm... strange as I eat bananas almost every day, sometimes two and look at all the weight I have lost.

1 anything that you are allergic to / intolerant of
2 trigger foods for binge eaters
3 anything that doesn't fit in your calories for the day
4 if you're not hungry
5 if you don't like it0 -

As for bananas - when I joined WW, they said "fruit is free" as long as you don't abuse bananas.

5 worst foods? Since when? I'll eat hat I like when I like how I like it.
I just finished an entire loaf of bread. White bread at that.... OMG and covered in BUTTER....with olives in it.
I'm about to have dinner that will be loaded up with cheese.... omg.... not even low fat cheese.
Then I'll have some frozen bananas mashed into it's own ice-cream topped with PB2.
Oh the horror...I guess I'll be getting fat now? Oh wait.... I lost weight this week didnt I?

Bananas contain potassium which we all need trace amounts of. So if you don't eat bananas make sure you are eating something regularly that gives you the necessary amount of potassium in your system always.0

i love bananas and rarely eat them. i eat fruit every day and love it. i dont think there is any fruit i do not like so its hard to eat a banana every day when im chomping on all the other stuff too. i try to mix it up so i dont get bored. i say eat in moderation and stick to your MFP food plan . I watch the calories, fiber, protein ,carbs and fat .. all fats are healthy fats like olive oil and coconut oil as well as nuts ,particularly almonds and almond butter. that coupled with the water and exercise is going to help0

@joeporta- I am a Carb lover.. so I love bread, chips, biscuits, and such... Alcohol is a love of mine as well so I have a hard time with it all....0

Millions of people throughout the world cope perfectly well without ever eating bananas.
Sure, bananas are a good source of potassium - but by no means the only source.
I eat around 4 bananas a week - it has not stopped me losing weight.
Bananas are a perfectly good food but on the other hand, not a wonder food -if you like them, eat them (in sensible amounts, of course, like any other food) if you don't like them, don't eat them.
Not sure why all the big deal about bananas0
