I'm very happy with the scale this morning, woo hoo! I'm now officially less than my lowest on MFP from before, that feels good.

I had been down an addition 1.8 pounds yesterday, but had a killer strength workout with my trainer and probably overdid it a bit on sodium yesterday. Oh well. Can't worry about it too much and I know it'll come off for next week.

I'd just really enjoyed hearing my Wii Fit say "that's overweight" instead of "that's obese"!

I will take any change at this point! I have had a good week.

Istpaul - my daughter is a junior and I feel like I am way behind looking at college and scholarships - what is the GPA for bigger scholarships? We just got through the applications for Senior Year PSEO, now the wait on that.

    ::sigh::

Another week of no loss. But given my working out lately, I *feel* better... which I suppose is the goal, to FEEL better and not the number on the scale.

I'll just keep plugging away. I cleaned out my closet yesterday (IE played dress up as I donated clothes/packed away clothes I won't need between now and the moving date) and was quite pleased with how things fit that I haven't been able to wear in a LONG time. That's pretty good motivation heading into the weekend!

ladeb - I totally feel like I'm behind too and dropped the ball with looking at what colleges cost and will require for scholarships, and financial aid stuff, etc. I just started looking so can't really tell you what other schools require for scholarships - but Purdue's minimum for a scholarship is an unweighted 3.8 GPA and a 30 or better on ACT (can't remember what the SAT requirement was since you don't need both). My daughter is at a 3.73 ... so just under (but I think they also throw out non-core classes like band which she got straight A's so that will drop her GPA even more). She has a 4.25 un-weighted GPA because of all the higher level classes she has taken - but they don't use that at Purdue for scholarship consideration. I'm hoping some other scholarhips do use the weighted GPA, or are lower on the unwweighted - there are SOOO many scholarships out there and takes time to research them. I'll let you know if I find out more - we are going to do some research this weekend on other colleges because she has to decided which 4 to have them send her ACT test scores to for free (after that you have to pay). Of course the financial aid says we can pay alot more towards her college than we realistically can afford to, so she won't qualify for any financial aid besides loans. It's a bummer.

Lstpaul and ladeb, my daughter is a senior and the one thing that I have really noticed is staying in-state and going to a state University are the cheapest. At least here in CA. A UC here is so much more than a CSU (University of California vs California State University) The CSU my daughter is going to is so much less expensive than the UC and the engineering program she was accepted into is #20 in the entire nation. That is saying something when you consider the IVY league colleges and so forth. Also one thing that has really helped us is Miranda has been very good about always talking to the college counsellor. Don't snub your nose at $50-100 scholarships. You get 10 of those and you have a $1000. We are still waiting to hear from scholarships but it "appears" that it will all get covered with the exception of $4000-$5000. Not too bad for a first class education.

Thanks momma, I am definitely going to push for an in-state school (or a neighboring state with reciprocity), thus far my dear daughter has claimed she wants to be far from home and hasn't been willing to consider closer options ... I think we will have to have a serious talk about costs and realities. We will watch for those smaller scholarships, I can see how they can add up. That sounds great that your daughter won't have much to pay, I hope I am worrying needlessly. (which I usually do).

Momma - thanks! So far my daughter is looking within our state or ones with reciprocity, but it is early....

    Checking in for yesterday:

    Calories: slightly over
    Exercise: 1 hour with PT
    Water: Good!
Proud: I have stuck to a decent eating plan all week, including lunch out with the owner of my new company.

    TMI WARNING!embarassed

Yesterday at work, after a trip to the ladies room, I was pondering why in the world my body waits until late morning to rid itself of its more bulky waste. My thoughts centered around "if I could weigh myself after this, but before a full day of eating..."sick

Anyway, today is Saturday, so the time restrictions are less. I slept in. My bodily functions were on their normal schedule, so I was able to weigh myself after the BM, but before I really started eating. Low and behold my weight was 186.4! That is two pounds less than yesterday morning upon awaking.

Don't think I can sit around waiting to weigh in on work days, but I think I will weigh in on a Saturday occasionally if it can be that motivating!!!!

    TMI, I know, but I'm just saying....flowerforyou

Hope everyone had a great weekend!! I was over on cals on Friday and Saturday, but right on target yesterday.

I have an interview at 1 p.m. ET today, so I'm a little nervous. However, I'm focusing on the fact that my application was fast-tracked and they are obviously excited to meet me!

Hope to see some more posts here soon!

Lauren: Best of luck on your interview today!

Sorry I've been MIA. Still busy at work. I gained this week and have been pigging out like crazy. I'm probably up 6 lbs from this time last week. Seriously. I'll get it back under control today, but I'm not feeling one bit guilty. I feel like I needed to just relax a bit with how busy I've been at work. Plus, it didn't help that my favorite ice cream shop opened for the season...

Anyway, hope everyone had a good weekend! Happy Monday.

LaDeb: I completely understand your 'weighing after a certain TMI event'. I am glad we weigh on Fridays because I work from home and can weigh after that event ... and I am always at my lowest weight of the week then. Hee Hee. Whatever does it to keep us motivated!

    checking in for the weekend:
calories: over on Saturday (and too many carbs), ok on Sunday ... those extra carbs though are throwing my cravings all out of wack again and I'm having to work hard today to not overeat
exercise: great on Saturday and good on Sunday
water: not good on either day
proud: that I'm starting my nutrition class again tomorrow to try to keep on track

p.s. My daughter thinks her ACT test went well ... I'm hoping. Ladeb - I am seeing some scholarship requirements of 3.65 or above at some schools, so am happy about that.

    Hi ladies,
Thank you for all of your kind words.
We had the service for my brother on Friday and it was amazing to see how many people showed up despite it being 3pm on Friday (hundreds!). He was obviously very well thought of and truly well regarded and I'm proud to be his sister.

I'm having a hard time dealing with my daughter never being able to meet him. I knew before his death that he was really excited to become what he called a "real uncle" and that was reiterated to me by multiple people on Friday. My SIL's sister told me he would ask to take care of her baby (his niece by marriage) and said he was "practicing" for mine. So, I had a really rough night Friday night and a rough day Saturday. I began to find more peace and some closure yesterday and although it's far from easy, I'm back at work today.

Hi everyone!! MIA again for the weekend, ugh not a successful one either...got paid on Friday so I kind of splurged a little in the food section, especially since my bf was gone all week for work..I was having date withdrawals OOPS.

Other than that, I actually went out hiking with the bf, I never do stuff like that! I think I will do it more often, I had soooo much fun looking at all the little woodland critters and breathing in all of the fresh air! I was surprised to see that we were gone for over an hour and a half when we got back to the truck. I am actually looking up some trails right now, hopefully the weather keeps up and I can do it again this next weekend!

I am sorry that I have not kept up with all of the reading

Julie- I am sorry for your loss, I can't begin to imagine how you feel during this time. Soo cool that that many people showed up to his service, he was obviously a great person and well loved.

Julie: I was thinking about you this morning. I can't imagine how difficult it is for you knowing your brother was so excited to be an uncle to your daughter but she won't be able to meet him. I believe he will be the best guardian angel she could hope for, though! Take care of yourself and if there is anything I can do for you, please let me know.

Andrea: Great job on the hiking. My boyfriend and I love hiking because it's good exercise, lifts your mood and is great bonding time. We've had some of our very best conversations while exploring our state parks. If you haven't looked into your state and regional parks, I encourage you to do so. They're great places!

lstpaul: I'm happy to hear your daughter thinks her ACT went well. I'm guessing she's probably right.

Yesterday was pretty uneventful, so I don't have much to report. However, I do need to figure out why I sabotage myself whenever I really get a good handle on the weight loss stuff. After seeing 178 on the scale last week, I gave myself free rein on my food the rest of the week. Now, I have four pounds of damage to work on. At least it's a new WW week for me and I'm off to a great start.

If any of you have ideas to help me break the self-sabotage cycle, please let me know! For some reason, I'm especially prone to doing poorly in the month of April. Every single year.

    Checking in for yesterday:
    Points: Over
    Water: 50.7 oz.
    Exercise: None
Proud: Of my awesome boyfriend, for everything he does.

Heather, I find that I do that as well - "congratulate" myself with a free reign day and then think, "That was dumb!" I think we need to find new ways to congratulate ourselves. Whether it's with healthier treats (froyo and fruit) or non-food (mani/pedi!), that's got to be where our rewards come from. I feel you though girl.

Julie, you and your family are still in my prayers. So good to know that the church was overflowing for your brother's service.

Andrea, glad to hear you found a new way to exercise!

lstpaul and momma - So many smart daughters around here! The pride is over-flowing!

    Checking in from yesterday:
Cals - Over - 2066 :grumble: Got a little too caught up with jelly beans and sugared up my calorie count. Then Jonathan girlled some delicious burgers and while I should have only done half the bun, I ate the whole thing (and it was awesome).
    Water - Not enough!
    Exercise - None.
Proud - I think my interview went pretty well. I have to turn in a project plan and I'll know by the end of the week if I get a second interview!

    checking in for yesterday:
    calories: just under
exercise: good - an hour of step
    water: not so good
proud: was having a bad day for cravings but did 'ok'

HeatherMN: I have been a master at self-sabotage, so I don't think I am the best at giving advice, but I'll try. How about a new goal, something short term and attainable to get you back on track?

Julie: still thinking about you and your family, I can't imagine how hard this must be for you. Take care of yourself.

    Morning ladies!

    Checking in for yesterday:

    Calories - Under
    Water - 70ish ounces
    Exercise - circuit training
Proud - I got my work out in and did dinner dishes after dinner instead of leaving them for the morning.

Heather - I have had some chronic self-sabotaging, too. One thing that has worked for me is choosing a non-food reward for myself (new finger nail polish, perfume, etc).

This is my LAST WEEK at my current job (which I have been at for almost 6 years). It's kind of weird.... and AWESOME. So looking forward to next week, and next month, and beyond!

Oh... and my scale broke. I probably won't be able to buy a new one for a couple weeks. So I'm going to REALLY push myself to see how much I can lose between now and new scale time.

    Hey Ladies,

tstout what a good idea. Maybe I should join you just for fun and not weigh and see how much we can lose 2 weeks from now? Ya wanna see?

Okay, I guess I will update everyone. ♦Ann is busy and not feeling well but she will be back soon. ♦ I talked to lildeb last week and she had an emergency room visit for an abcess. I will be checking on her soon. ♦Been trying to get in touch with Blue to no avail. But I wont quit trying . ♦Jess, is around but life is happening and she will be back soon. ♦Cris, is here and probably reading this but she has a lot on her plate as well. She appears to be back on track with some weight loss (yay) but very busy ♦And we all know Julie is going through a very difficult time right now. She could probably really use some  right now.

I think we need to try to remember our weight loss sisters and check in with them so they know we care.:flowerforyou:
