Have been doin Level 1 for a week but will measure tonight and join ye if that's ok!

    Just a bit of motivation:
Did Level 2 twice and actually found it a bit easier than level 1 in a way.
Also, I find the first ten minutes of Level 1 the toughest but once I'm past that, enjoy the rest of it :)

Has anyone noticed a change / weight loss on this programme - I haven't yet but am feeling a lot fitter. Would like to hear some success stories.

    Best of Luck everyone

I've read about this dvd here before and because of this thread I just googled it and Wow it sounds brilliant!

It's horrible weather at the moment so I can't go for my walk and my husband gave me a set of dumbells for mother's day (!) yesterday so I guess I should just get this dvd. I have a mat already but I don't have huge space in the house for a workout (small backroom) - would that be enough?
Oh and I see that there's two DVDs, one where she wears an orange top and on the other one it's black. is there a difference or is it just a different cover?
  • Can I join too? Just started it today, am going to take it easy for few days because I tried it once before years ago and could not move after Day 1!

    @ Mairghael

Small back room is fine for Levels 1 & 2 dunno 'bout level 3, haven't got that far yet.

You basically need enough space to lie down and stretch arms / legs out wide, do lunges / side jumps.

    Just remember:

    "NO PAIN NO GAIN"

As much as we are going to be sore and not want to workout for a few days its actually best to workout and stretch out those muscles. We are a big group and all here for the same reasons.

If someone is falling apart we are here to pick them back up!

That's great thanks! Just bought it on Ebay (better value than on Amazon), so should have it by Wednesday hopefully. Yay, looking forward to it!

    Morning Shredders,
How's everyone on this first day of shredding challenge Monday  !!
OMG ; did my shredding at 5am before work and it's 8:30 and I'm still tired!! Also my first day without coffee so that might have something to do with it!!!I would probably feel worse if I hadn't exercised!!.
Great workout - i forgot how intense she is - even at level one - the push ups just wear me out - have to do them on my knees but I still did them. I'm not much of a jumper arounder either but I did that too!!! I am tuly hoping for some great results - i sure got them last time and boy, could I push up and jump at the end of 30 days.

:drinker: Here's to us and change ~ I know we can do it!!

Make it a great day everyone,
    Janet

So what is this and what do i need to do?
Hi there, 30 day shred is a jullian michaels dvd - you can get it in walmart for around 8 bucks, You will need a pair of 3-5lbs dumbells and possibly a cushioned mat for your knees if you're working out on a hard surface.
The total w/o time is 25minutes including the cool down. She takes you through 3 circuits of strength - 3 minutes, cardio- 2minutes and abs 1 minute. I am 205lbs and I burn 200 cals for my 25 minutes per my heart rate monitor (not to mention wringing with sweat) . The workout has 3 levels and you do each one for 10 days (30 days) . There are high impact and modifyier options so you can tailor the work out to your fitness level. You really lose inches with this one more so than lbs - at least that was my experience before. So if you're looking to really drop pounds you'll have to add some extra cardio (like me). It is an amazing work out and you will get results. I recommend you take measurements before you start.

Hope that helps and Happy Shredding

Just completed day of of The Shred. I debated putting it off another day. I had to get my kids up at 4:00 this morning so we could take Daddy to the airport for a business trip. By the time we got back, even though it was only 5:30, we were all wide awake and wired. I went ahead and did 30 minutes on my stationary bike while they were playing. Come their naptime this afternoon, I was bushed and ready to sleep myself. HOWEVER...I made myself SHRED IT! I'm feeling really good about it, but will definitely be going to bed early tonight. :-)

p.s. - YAY ME! Two workouts in one day! LOL

I got Day1 in and it was great I had to do modified versions of all of the ab work and pushups on my knees to do that many with proper form. I also had to do my sidelunges while trying NOT to step on my 3YO.

Did anyone else notice that there are 4 different levels??? My DVD has 4 different workouts do I have something different? I says JM Ripped in 30.

I wore my bodybug and it came out to 250 cals for me which was a bit of a bummer because it sure felt like a bit more than that BUT I noticed that I will probably have a longer "afterburn" with this workout than with others.

Keep it up the great work everyone!

I did day one. I am fine with the strength and ab moves, but have trouble with the cardio. I did every other cardio exercise and did 3 out of 4 of them at the end.

Also instead of chest flys I did more crunches. I need ab work more than a set of flys.

I strength train 3-4 times a week, but hate working abs.

I am also varying my dumbbell weight depending on the exercise. I used 5's on the front raises, and 20 on the curls.
