Took a break from the scale - had too much going on around here to get anything done on MFP. Then I had bronchitis for over 2 weeks so really didn't get much done. I did get do a 4 mile race on Saturday - didn't do as well as I had hoped, but I finished in an ok time. At least it was under an 11 min mile average. I was going for under 10, but oh well. Lungs couldn't hack it yet. I won't make my goal, thats for sure. Maybe I will at least be within 10 lbs of it....there's hope for that at least! :ohwell:0 -

Me too, I am trying for late fall in November. Doing pretty good but got some nasty blisters today and tomorrow is my long run. Read that I should put duct tape over them-might give it a try.0 -

So I've been hooked on a show called 'Heavy' and was really inspired by this man who lost 180ls in 6mon, which is GREAT,but the inspiring part? He RAN 1min for every pound lost. 180min! And he did it, not stopping once!
I'm thinking about doing the same thing. Run/jog 1min for every pound lost. If a man weighing over 250 can do it, why can't I/we? Perhaps, next month, in the next thread, I'll make a post as a reminder to anyone who would like to pledge their amount. Just a thought.0 -

Well, I had been stuck at about a max of 6 miles for a few months. I then switched my course to a flatter area and was able to run a lot further so decided to try for a half marathon about a month ago. I did 10.3 on Friday and was feeling muscle soreness the lat mile so gonna stay there for a week or two and then go up again. I am planning for the November 1/2 marathon held I believe by the St. Louis Running club. Haven't signed up yet but hopefully soon
BTW the duct tape did not work, slipped off just like a bandaid however it was working to keep the blisters from rubbing until it slipped. It was on my heels. Might tape the whole ankle next time if happens again.

I'm tired of this 5 lb YO YO I'm on! Someone cut the string & send me flyin' cause this is for the birds! I changed up my goals again to increase my calories again. Put it back down to 1 lb/wk so maybe that will start showing something. I am still doing some sort of activity each day - mostly walking or going for a run. I haven't been to Zumba since July. I am taking a break from that. My regular instructor is on maternity leave anyway. I will start it up again probably in mid October when I renew my gym membership again for the winter. I loaned my Jillian Shred out & need to get it back. She usually kicks my bootay into gear. Plus some silly person thinks I need to start training for a half marathon...:laugh: (Bru):laugh: so I guess I will be doing that too! :bigsmile:0 -
