I am up a little today because last night was kind of a binge. I am going to try to get back on track, get to the store and make a plan...0 -
Hey - I'm late to join too, but I'd like to add in for the next 5 weeks if I could (sorry, my grad school semester ended last week and I haven't been good about keeping up with things).
Name: Anna
Age: 27
Kids: none (hopefully in the future)
Pets: 3 indoor cats: Ra, Aries and Loki
Married/SO: engaged, getting married June 21 or 22 of 2013 (gotta finish my Master's first!)
Eating Lifestyle: primal (or lacto-paleo)
Starting weight: 212.4
Goal Weight: 202.4
Goals for this 5 wks: Trying a new eating style where I stay religiously close to 40-50 grams of carbs 6 days a week, and then just eat gluten-free on one day with no worrying about how many carbs. This will let me wean off of the foods I want to still have (ice cream, sushi) that I have been previously using as my excuse to jump into Failure Canyon and stay there. I figure I can stay strong for 6 days and then have a planned cheat. I'm giving it a try now.... I guess you guys will get to see how it goes!0 -
I am weighing in tomorrow. Hoping to be in Onederland, but I don't think I will be since TOM is visiting me unexpectedly. I know I am shrinking with the quickness since going back to work though. My pants are literally falling off me, woot, woot.
High amount of walking on my job and then going to the gym and walking the dogs is paying off with the quickness!!!!!0 -
5/15/11 SW204
5/17/11 CW203........lost 1 lb............ in two days...... on pabeo diet..... Thats a good sign!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Way to go Marie!!!0 -
I just got a meat groupon-$15 to spend $30 at a good butcher shop, I can see myself getting back on track already!0

I forget who is was, Soozie?, that said her biggest problem is red wine. Amen sister. If I gave up red wine, I probably wouldn't be over my calories and need to eat low carb lol....0 -

Red wine is acceptable to have on this plan!!! I even drink some other types of wine from time to time..........0 -
Going to go ahead and announce marline as winner of the week with a whopping 3.2% loss this week!!! Great Job girl!!!
Me and Stephanie tied for 2nd place with 1.9% loss
and David came in third with 1.1% loss
Congrats to everyone that had a great week!!! and to the ones that weren't happy with this week, I'm sure that will just make next week awesome!!
Okay, Marline hit us with the challenge for the week. i'm doing awesome with working out and logging...I'm trying to just keep all of them going. it takes about 30 days of doing something to make it a habit0 -
Yay I've finally won something! Lol
So my challenge for everyone this week is to add variety into your workouts. I challenge everyone to do some weight training this week. If you've already started to then add some reps, weights, or find a new routine. If you've never done it before. Start off with 5 to 10 pound dumbbells and do what you know. Just be careful to watch your form and stretch so you don't hurt yourself. If free weights arent your thing, then try jumping on a machine that will safely allow you to work on your different muscle groups!
Hope everyone is ready to be in some pain. The good kind of course!
Also if your comfortable it would be kool to share what everyone is eating throughout the week for those of us who feel lost or want to know more options0 -
Thanks, Marline, and congrats! I am definitely needing some help this week, I was not prepared like I try to do on Sunday and is impacting me for sure.
tonight I am making ham and scalloped potatoes with a garden salad. Potatos are sort of a gray area I think, and dairy/cheese as well. It is without grains, so that is good.
I am also planning on spaghetti squash with tomato sauce and meatballs (I found this recipe on everyday paleo and the meatballs are made with dried cherries!)
I will also do bunless burgers with grilled onions and mushrooms, and planning to crock pot a pork butt roast.
For lunch I have been having coconut shrimp, and salad (and jambalaya:blushing: which I know is not paleo but it's not flour:)
Oh, I also want to do a chili to take for lunch next week, share recipes if you have any good ones!0 -
Hi, i'm a little late also but would like to join please. I don't have a scale but have been unsuccessfully trying to lose weight for a couple months now so not sure where i started. I'm guessing 186. So i will try to weigh myself at a friends house tomorrow to see where i am beginning. I have been trying a low carb diet for a few days now and i think my cravings are down some. I was definitely a carb addict. I don't know about the paleo thing but good luck with it.

Condolences for your loss. It's good to hear you are back to self care during a stress like that.0 -
Remember - it's also about the muscle! Saw this fantastic link on another thread. The blogger is the same weight in the pics, but she takes shots of fitting in jeans; size 10, then down to an 8, and then down to nearly fitting in a size 4 AND ALL AT THE SAME SCALE WEIGHT!!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3926473
Heave HO on the lifting.
I like it heavy!0 -

gah, i was afraid you was going to say that!!!! what's so wrong with just getting on the elliptical for 30 minutes everyday! lol i know boring, but i've been putting off lifting weights for a while now. so i guess really you picked the right challenge
I don't want to do too much weight liting before my weigh in thursday for a weight loss competition i'm in, but until thursday i will start doing some push ups and crunches along with some reps on the dumbells i have in my home gym. and my diary is open, but i pretty much eat the same stuff over and over! lol i'm pretty simple!0 -

sorry I didn't have time to weigh my self yesterday ... but I did weigh myself this morning! I cheated quite abit this past week ... I didn't have sugar or grains but had potatoes 3x ... I thought I would have gained ... but the scale told me I did in fact go from 103.5kg to now 102kg (in English measurements that's 228.2lb to now 224.9lbs!!! Wow I'm very impressed with myself since I really did think I didn't do good this past week !
