It may not be encouragement for anyone else
but hubby just gave me a big boost of it today!
After 9 weeks, he finally noticed!
I've decided instead of looking at a bad (big) picture,
it's time to look at the past for more encouragement.
My new profile picture was taken Christmas 1989
after I had lost about 50#. Unfortunately,
I've gained it all back and then some. But that will change.

Bump for sunday. I started eating more (I was doing the 1200 cal minimum and not eating my workout cals back) last week and I've lost another 1.8 pounds already this week! I'm so close to my mini goal weight. I'm so glad the challenge this week is to tell what motivates us, because I need to fire myself up to get through this week doing the very best I can!
I always wondered if I should eat back my exercise calories. Right now, I am eating them back but then I wonder what is the point of exercising if I eat back my calories? Do you find a difference since you haven't been eating your calories back? Is there anyone else that doesn't eat back their exercise calories? I might try it.0 -

I love to read the little quotes in people's signatures on the boards...so much so that I started copying them into a word document that I refer to frequently for motivation! Here are two of my favorites because I think they apply to me the most. I've been gaining and losing weight for almost 2 decades now and I think these quotes have totally changed the way I view the change I'm making this time. I'm looking at it as a change in lifestyle, and a change in years of bad habits that are not impossible to change, I've just never believed I could do it. One step at a time and a little extra effort will pay off HUGE in the long run.

For my exercise I started The Firm this week. I thought it wouldn't be too terribly challenging because I have been using my elliptical pretty faithfully. Hah! I was wrong! But it feels great to be so pushed and have muscles hurt that I forgot existed!0 -

: Motivation - seeing my number of log on days clock up on my home page - Today I got the 50 days message - Can't believe I've logged in every day over that period ot time. I'm a bit of a lurker - don't post a huge deal, but just popping in here each day and seeing I'm not alone on this journey is helping me stay on track.

I posted this in "success stories" but I'm soooooo friggin excited I want to post it EVERYWHERE, so for those of you who see my feed I apologize in advance for repeating myself but I had a MAJOR NSV today.
Ok, I've been shopping in the "big girls store" for years, even my size (16) in a regular store, never seem to fit right.
My size 16 pants are waay too big these days, and thats great, I have some "big girl" 14's that fit in the waist but are HUGH everywhere else, but I didnt want to go shopping till I was a least another size smaller.
I tried on some regular missus 14's about 2 weeks ago & they DID fit, just didnt look good ( I blame the material lol)
Today , my beautiful, skinny (size 7-8) 17yr old came home with a masssive pile of jeans & skirts that her friend gave her. They were all waay too big for her but there was 1 pair she insisted I try on.
So I did. OMG they FIT, and not only did they fit they looked GOOD. What size you ask? Now remember this is NOT a PLUS size, NOT even a MISSUS, I fit my 48yr old *kitten* into a size 14 from the JUNIORS DEPT!!!!!
I can shop in the same dept as my daughter. AND, if I DO say so myself, MY *kitten* LOOKS FABULOUS!!!!
The other jeans are all 12's & 10's I told her to hang on to them, I'll fit in them next!
I cant think of ANY better motivation-off to the gym!0 -

Great job everyone! Great job Felicia! I'll be weighing in probably Friday or Saturday night, but my goal for the week is to get back to the gym.. I 've been slacking off so much this past month. I really need to get back on track if I want to meet my goals.0

I only lost 1 pound this week, but I actually find that pretty impressive considering I went a little crazy after the final weigh in for the competition at work and ate a bunch of those things I had been denying myself for the competition (chineese food mostly). I ended up taking 4th place overal with 15.1% weight loss in 12 weeks. I also lowered my cholesterol from 210 to 180. My prize was $282 in cash to spend as I please, plus $300 credit to spend only on excercise equipment. I bought a Garmin Forerunner 305 GPS heart rate monitor, a set of Jillian Michaels dumbells, and a pair of New Balance MR890 running shoes.

I am always surprised to see the scale go down since I still eat so much. Just shows how much I really used to eat!! Trying to not lose too fast to keep my milk supply up so two pounds from Sunday to today is a little more than I wanted. Here's hoping for just a pound a week the last 4 weeks!0 -

I didn't think I was going to be able to lose weight so quickly, so I gave myself a small goal number at first because I wanted to be able to achieve it, and not get disappointed. But now that I have achieved it, and there's still 4 weeks left, I'm revising my goal weight to 205.0 -
posting weight tomorrow but I just had to say, I CAN WEAR A MEDIUM!!!!!!
holy moly the highest size i wore pre-baby was a 20 and now i'm almost in a 10.0 -
I've been on a roller coaster since starting the challenge two months ago. This past week I cut out the alcohol :drinker: and the mindless snacking - exercised every day and lost a little more than 3 pounds. As soon as I saw the loss I "rewarded" myself by drinking and snacking. :noway: Now if only I can not sobatoge myself for the rest of the challenge - maybe I can CONTROL this carnival ride and recommit.
Motivation for this week - I'm printing the below list out and taping it over my computer so that I can look at it everyday.
Exercise change - I will continue to walk but also will go back and actually USE the wii Zumba (every night) I paid $40 for and only tried twice.
