Earth's Circumference at the Equator: 24,901.55 miles (40,075.16 km)

Right now there are 121 participants!

121 participants * 100miles each =12,100 miles (we need 123 more people to make it around the earths circumference at the Equator!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Or everone could do 200 miles lol!
  • OK I've been nagged into this. I think I can do it!

ETA no way, can't do 200, lol, so we need a 122 more after me ;-)

Okay, I'm going to try this.

I tend to do a Leslie Sansone DVD most mornings and I'm determined to 'graduate' my C25K training so that should keep me going.

Hi, sounds like a good challenge, I'm in. It will be interesting to see how far I walk each day whilst at work.
    Off to find my ticker.

I just started exercising 6 days ago. Have usually walked for 30 mins (around 1.75 miles), sometimes an hour (around 2.5 miles). I guess I need to average 3.3 miles per day to do this. :grumble: I weigh 291 so this will be a challenge - but what the heck, it says CHALLENGE right in the title right?? I work in retail so if I wear a pedometer at work I should be good to go! Count me in!

Ugh, can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm in. I'm (supposed to be) training for a 60 km walk that I'm doing in July so I really gotta get moving so hopefully this will help. I may have to break out the bike to get there, but I'll do it!
  • Was wondering if it was individual or we doing teams? I think that teams would be kind of fun.

I was originally planning on running about 100km in June, I'm sure getting rid of the 'k' bit won't matter too much...

    Count me in.

PS I'm not sure which way my golfer is trying to go,. Perhaps she's using the wind, or something...

I am going to take part in this challenge!!

I am only going to count miles in running though, because I find it difficult to track anything else. I do spin classes once or twice a week, but I havent got a clue how many miles I would ride in one of those?

Running 100 miles sounds really diffcult for me, especially considering I normally only do about 10 a week! :(

    I better get moving!

    Im starting tomorrow

    :)

Count me in too - I need something to get me back on track so 100 miles in a month seems like just the thing and great timing too!

Cool stats!! Let's see how far we can get in June and if we need to keep going, track how many days to get around the world!

I'm in. I already log 25-30 miles a week, so this should be no problem.

I'm definitely doing it but I have a question do we log whatever we walk during the day as well as exercise walking or just exercise walking? Am I making sense?

    Good luck everyone.

I'm not going to participate, mostly because June 11/12 I'm taking part in a bike tour for the MS Society and it is 186 km (about 116 miles) over two days, so it wouldn't really be much of a challenge this month

Hope everyone succeeds with their challenge though. I keep a look out for the next one.
