The house looks fabulous! It's beautiful! You have done a nice job with it. And it shows great! I hope everything goes smoothly from here with the sale of the home! Hopefully a young family will snatch it up quickly!!
Are you feeling 100% then? I saw you got a workout in this morning? Does that mean you are back in action or are you still in recovery mode?
I think my youngest has passed me the bug he's been battling. Poor thing. I can see why he's been napping lately. I feel like an elephant is sitting on my chest. I'm hoping to get a workout in this morning but I've still been catching up on sleep from Black Friday. We were out 7pm Thursday to 8am Friday. And I can't seem to get those hours back. I guess I walked myself right into this little sickness by staying out like that. Besides Thanksgiving, I haven't touched a workout. Thus, why I need to suck it up tonight. I dragged myself to work but I have a feeling it won't be too productive of a day! :frown:0 -
Oh no! I am hoping you are not getting sick! I am finally feeling better. It took almost 3 weeks, a round of steroids, a round of antibiotics and copious amounts of NyQuil and Musinex but I am feeling about 85% normal. Today was the first real workout back and it was a rough one. Between being sick, not working out for almost 3 weeks and over eating this weekend I was struggling to get through a workout that is usual an easy day for me. Still have over a week left of S90 (which I need to try to finish out halfway strong) and then on to CLX. How has it been working for you?
Sadly I think the scale will be off the charts this week. I wasn't too bad on Thanksgiving but by the weekend my appetite was back in full force and I was over indulging and not working out so I am sure having seen big losses from being sick the last 2 weeks there will be a big upswing. Oh well. I actually think getting more food in my system is what finally helped me feel better since I think my body was having a hard time battling all the bugs and infections without a decent amount of food. But I just couldn't eat more than 1200 calories in the first days back from the stomach bug. It too me a long time before I could get up to 1500 since everything made me feel queasy. But I am back on it and this is a new week!
Thanks for your kind words about my house. I forgot how fun it is to show your house. For example, last night a couple was in our house forever and we had to actually wait an extra 15 minutes past the showing time for them to leave (and this was a freaking Sunday night). We were hoping it was a good sign they were there so long but apparently they were making dinner plans or something since they left feedback like an hour later saying they liked the house but the commute was too far. UGGGHHH. If you felt that way why were you camped out for 30 minutes while I am trying to amuse a hungry 2 year old in the car outside. Oh well it is the way it goes.0 -
I'm going to ignore the scale (lol) for the next week. I'm waiting on AF (as usual, she comes when she wants and leaves when she wants) so I'm already bloated. Let alone from poor eating over the weekend. Just going to get my butt in gear and chug that water so weigh in next week will show where I'm really at hopefully.
CLX is good. I did Burn Intervals for the first time today. Yowser. It reminds me of S90 (I think it's Cardio Challenge) where you use light weights but it's mainly cardio. It was good. Not as insane as Insanity but my heart rate was through the roof. I'm looking forward to see what the Push phase brings. I haven't tried that or Lean phase yet. In the regular CLX schedule, I think it's a month of each. The hybrid is a couple of weeks of Burn, then onto Push for a couple, and lastly Lean. So we'll see. I do enjoy Chalean so this hybrid has been good (and definitely not the reason I've been sucking at getting up at 5am!)
I can only imagine your impatience, and rightfully so with house showings. Talan was just a tiny baby when we had our house on the market. I think in hindsight it was a blessing it didn't sell at that point. Though at the time it was devastating. Although I'd love more yard for the kids. I know that were we are the taxes are cheap, the schools are just around the corner, and even though we are in town...we live on a dead end street with a bunch of doctors and professors so it's a nice neighborhood. Granted we have one of the older homes on the street, but that can be improved and location can't without moving. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. The house looks beautiful so I'm sure you'll generate some interest soon.0 -
Oh yeah if we were in a better location (mostly with regards to schools) we would totally rework our house. There is a lot of that in our neighborhood but I am not going to pay for private school when there are great public schools just 20 minutes north. Glad to hear that CLX is giving you a run for your money. Feeling better today and hope I will be 100% tomorrow! Sorry I have to keep things short but I was in training all day and now I am playing catch up!0
-
Sorry I missed a pop in yesterday. I took the morning off with still having some stomach bug in the morning (honestly, I'm all prego symptoms here with no possibility of prego-ness!! ) and it ended up being a good thing since my Gram ended up in the hospital. I'm actually on my way up to see her now (and bring her bottled water since she STRONGLY dislikes our 'city water' ) They aren't sure what's going on with her but hopefully the Doctor looks over the tests they did yesterday and fills us all in!! *fingers crossed*
As for the 'bug', I'm at a loss. I get up, work out fine, but within a couple hours I'm randomly throwing up here/there. It's not every day but it's definitely weird. And annoying!!
I did the first worout of Push Circuit today. Much heavier. It was nice. I enjoyed that one though I'm not sure my muscles will tomorrow!! Hope your feeling good! I'm off to drop this water off before I head in to work! I'll catch up with you later!0 -
I am sorry to hear about your grandmother. It is so hard when they are older because it seems like any sort of bug can cause all sorts of problems. Hey look at us we are 30 and we are getting struck down by all sorts of illness. Speaking of, yes I would totally say it sounds like pregnancy symptoms
Glad to hear that CLX is working out for you. It is taking me FOREVER to get there. I didn't get a workout in today because I forgot to set my alarm last night. Oh well, it is probably for the best since I had a bad headache this morning and I am still so sore from starting back on my work outs this week. It truly is amazing how much ground I lost over the last few weeks. I feel like a 90 year old woman working out and my burns show it!! haha. I am finishing out next week no matter what. Since it is all cardio I will do as many of the workouts left and then call it next Friday and start CLX the week after. After 3 rounds I am ok with missing one core workout
Party planning is in full gear! I will be a baking fool tomorrow since I need to make cookies for the cookie decorating table (both gluten free and regular) and also I need to make gluten free rice krispie treats in lieu of cake for our gluten free friends (there are 6 guest coming that are gluten free) and then I am also making minnie mouse cake balls (which is the biggest concern since I have to attach ears and coat them). Then late on Friday I am blowing up and stringing tons of balloons (I decided to air pump the balloons and hang them from the ceiling instead of using helium since it it outrageously priced). It will be crazy but it will all be worth it come Saturday. I will have lots of pics for sure  Hope you feel better soon!0 -
Good luck with all the prepping this weekend! Yikes! What a full weekend you have head!! Such a good hostess making accommodations for your guest. You rock at this party planning thing!!!
Gram is still in the hospital. She looks good...but no word yet about what's going on. Still waiting on the Doctor. :grumble:
And definitely not prego but it's like that roller coaster. Fine one moment, eh the next. Not over the top craptastic like you struggled with. Just a pain in the butt. But whatever, I'm feeling good today. Late workout tonight though because I had to do some packing this AM. Kids are staying with my parents so Dan and I can finish up Christmas shopping. I dread the thought of the lines and the people. But Dan and I are good at this...mission shopping - GET IN AND GET OUT!!
Yeh for starting CLX soon!! I hope to hear your thoughts about it soon! I like my hybrid! I love TF but know I need the strength so this is working so far. Though the scale was up, but like I said I'm not logging this week. If it's still up next week, I'll know I need to readjust but with TOM and other changes I'm riding it out until then!0 -
Well the party is over and done and I couldn't be more thrilled  It went very well and everyone had a good time but boy it was so much work. The two months of crafting wasn't bad but then the 8 hours of baking and then staying up all hours of the night on Friday to get everything set up (Mike got the stomach virus I had and was in bed for the 2 days before the party) sucked. I am ready to move on  I haven't done enough Christmas shopping because I was running so many errands and working so much on the party. And we have no tree up yet because of the party so it is ready to move on.
How is your Gram and how are you? All your mystery symptoms gone? I am definitely finishing out S90 this week. I might be a day short but it is time to move on and start CLX. Of course since I ate tons of crap at Josie's party I am sure I threw my numbers again this round but whatever moving on :laugh:0 -
It's been a lonnng few days. Just finally got a decision from the doctor that her heart medication is working and she can come home for now. She has to travel to a bigger city for a consult. But there's improvements in her condition and she's coming home. So we are all breathing a sigh of relief.
And your party came off wonderfully! The pictures are amazing but I'm sure it was even more fabulous in person! Josie looked adorable, you looked beautiful and the whole theme was awesome!! It really looks like everyone had a great time!! I hope that you find some time to breath a sign of relief!! Only of course to realize the Christmas frenzy begins...but once SOMETHING is checked off the list, it makes moving forward a little easier!!
Friday-I had the stomach issues. Nothing on the weekend or today. I'm hoping it goes away. I reintroduced my morning BCAAs in after my workout this morning and felt pretty good this morning. I'm guessing it's an underlying bug. The kids still have runny noses and a slight cough even though they feel fine. So I'm guess it's just a matter of it trying to hang on for dear life. Either way- we'll keep moving forward! ....and on to CLX with me you'll be! I'm excited about that part!!
We don't have a tree yet either...I'm hoping this week. We thought about it this weekend but in between kids basketball, Dan basketball and getting to the hospital often to visit Gram-it just didn't come together. We'll procrasinate another few days I'm sure! I did just about finish up Christmas shopping though...so I'm glad for that! I'm OVER spending money!!
Back to Turbo Fire tomorrow!! Woot woot! Finish that S90 strong girl!!0 -
I am so glad to hear things are getting better with your Gram. I know how stressful that can be. I am also glad to hear that you are feeling better as well and so jealous you are done with Christmas shopping
As long as I have the time to get the shopping done without Josie I am good. I like to get gifts and shop but not with a cranky kid  I am back at the S90 and I will definitely finish this week. I am losing 2 of the core dynamics to finish on Friday but I am cool with that. The total body is whipping me enough. Sadly I am still very weak compared to before I was sick. But it is getting better. The first time I did the workout since being sick I couldn't do any of the plyo pushups from my toes. I had to drop to my knees. Today I was able to get 8 but had to stop and breath in between. Before I was sick I could get 10 in both sets without stopping. So I am not there yet but there is improvement.
Thanks about the party, I think it turned out really well. Josie loved all the Minnies and actually wore her ears a little (which was a huge shock since she never has left me put them on her before this!) So it was a success; however, I definitely over ate so who knows what the weigh in will bring this week. Par for the course right? haha0 -
I'm still in amazement about those plyo pushups. You are crazy! You'll get back there. It'll just take some time. That parts stamina and Lord knows you'll build that back up with the way you go hard!!
Yes, party fever will have that effect. You kind of earned a little relaxation on the food though! (take with caution: coming from the girl who can't get her head on right during the holiday season! :noway: )
I feel like I'm still only going at this at like 60%. The exercise is back in. Though I feel kind of 'eh' about it still. The eating is ok. Not bad, not good. I keep trying to tell myself to get over it. And it gets a little better but things are just so crazy- my choices aren't 100% on par. I can only imagine what tomorrows weigh in will bring. I should probably just throw the scale out for the next couple of months because I have a feeling my goal is going to be more 'maintain' then lose. :huh:0 -
I know what you mean. I am trying to get back on it 100% but I am still lagging. I am ok though if I can keep things decent until after the holidays I am good since I am going to hit the diet hard come new years
I am sorry for asking you this since I am sure you are like "just read the damn thing" which I will (hopefully when I am out of town at Christmas time) but for the LP plan you were doing is there a specific formula they give to determine caloric needs or do they refer you to a basic calorie counter that everyone uses. I am curious since I know your calories were changing as you progressed though the OPT program and I wasn't sure where (or if) the numbers were in the documents. I definitely will read the whole thing but with all the late night crafting and such I have barely made a dent it in. That and I am dying to see what calorie goal they will set for me. You know I love a sneak peek :laugh:0 -
Maybe if you ask me about LP I'll actually jump on board with it again (since it clearly was working) and stop GAINING weight instead of losing it....grr...why am I doing this to myself?!
As far as the LP stuff goes...I PM'd you. Hopefully that helps. I've read it enough times thinking that if I just read it and prepare again I can get back on this train. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be working. I'm not out of control by any means. It's just obvious I'm not actively trying to 'lose' right now. I eat good for the most part, but not 100%. I work out...but procrastinate. You know that bug? Yeh, it's still got a hold of me. Just gotta find my mojo. Workin' on it. (I lose my mojo often! :blushing: )0 -
Thanks again for all that info. It was very helpful especially that quiz! So much more helpful than the basic: sedentary, low, moderate, whatever you always see. I always had a hard time with it because while I sit at a desk for 8 hours the other hours of the day I am running around all over god's green earth and I never knew how to figure that. So that was SOOO helpful. I am a 1.45-1.55 activity level
I am sorry you are on the upswing right now. I have been there (and might be there tomorrow when I weigh in) but we can do it. My goal until the new year is to just try to maintain. I am not trying to lose since I know I will be frustrated. So I am trying to keep things in moderation and ride out the holidays then hit it hard come Jan 2 (which will ironically be my 2 year anniversary of starting all this after Josie was born )
But we will see how successful I am since a lot is going on come the first of the year. We are moving Josie out of the toddler room at daycare and also cutting/making a hole in her pacifiers in an attempt to wean her back off of them. Both her Dr. and dentist think this is the best way for her as opposed to taking them away (paci fairy style) since she actually wants to hold them more than suck on them and it is a tremendous comfort for her to hold them and know where they are like a security blanket. So we will see how that goes. If that doesn't work we will look into removing them completely around 2 and a half. We have been warned if take them all away at once at this age there is a very strong possibility of her sucking her fingers and thumb (which was her father until he was like 8). Sooooo... that will be fun but I am not messing with any of it until after we get back from traveling at Christmas. Traveling with Josie is stressful enough. I don't need to add to the mix.
Well wish me luck. I am taking the plunge today and getting a bit of botox to help a single (yes one) deep wrinkle I have. Fingers crossed I don't have a bad reaction or look crazy. haha Ah the joys of having very dry, thin, pale skin :laugh:0 -
BOOM! Brought that crap hard core now to eat like a champ today! Dusting my shoulders off (again) and getting this done. Even if it's just maintaining...I'm okay with that. I logged a gain this week (after postponing last week to see if it was TOM...it wasn't) so that's a big old slap in the face that I deserved to knock my crap off and get back on it. Get back down to where I was and at least sit there until after the holidays!
Oh, the joys of breaking the binkie habit. That's good that your Doc is working with you on it. Talan developed a rash around his mouth one day when he was like 5 months old..popped that sucker out and never wanted it again. Tarren, he was more of a struggle. We worked him down to just bed time and then all away. I have heard of the cutting a hold in it...but never tried it. Good luck! We struggled with getting rid of Talan's bottle all together BEFORE we had Tarren. I just knew if he hadn't gotten rid of it before a new baby who was 'allowed' a bottle came along- we'd struggle even more than normal. It's hard because you know it brings them comfort and at the same time you know it's got to go! I wish you luck!!
Glad the activity quiz helped. I liked that she added more to it than just the typical take a guess approach too. It helped. And apparently works out okay since I was having success with it when I was listening.
How did the botox go? I have one right between my eyebrows from furrowing my brows so much (I'd like to think from sunshine blinding me...not from being grumpy!) and I'd probably take up the botox route if I ever had the opportunity. Why not, right?! Hope it worked out!0 -
Yep that is the exact same line I have and apparently Botox is the only way to deal with it. So I had it done yesterday. It was easy and fairly painless considering needles are going into your head. haha. It was scary at first since I wanted just between the brows (that one vertical line between them) done but overall I have some less noticeable horizontal lines across my forehead (from raising and lower eyebrows) and right off the woman said that if I just did between the brows there was a good chance it would look weird that my forehead was smooth half up and then lined on the other half. So that was kind of scary to think (of course it is good to know this up front) that you mess with this you have to mess with that etc. I did want to have the forehead lines dealt but at a later date since I wanted to see how I responded to the botox before shooting up half my head. I assumed I would need (from my research) 20 units between the brows as this is the standard for women. She actually suggested (since I wanted to be conservative and still have expression) that I only use 15 units for the brows and then use 5 units separated in 4 places at the hairline. She said this little bit in the hairline would just lessen the forehead creases some what so that it all blended together. Since I was expecting to pay for 20 units and I did want the forehead creases dealt with at some point I went ahead and had her do that. She came with a good recs so I am trusting her judgement. If all else fails and I look horrible it will be gone in 4 months
So it was over very quickly. It is hilarious how the skin bubbles up right as the botox is injected but was gone by the time I walked out of the office (like 5 minutes later after checking out). I looked completely normal when I was back at the office like 10 minutes later. So that was good. No bruising and I look totally normal today. It will take full effect in 7-14 days but I do feel a slight difference in that it is harder to make the scowl and the skin/muscle feels slightly tighter when I scowl (which is why I think it is harder to make that face, haha!) So I have a follow up scheduled in 2 weeks in case anything needs to be adjusted but if I am pleased I am will just cancel it. So overall the process was easy and I am just waiting to see the results.
This all started because I had a gift certificate to a spa that Mike had given me that I really wasn't a fan of their services. Their facials dried me out and their massages we just so so. Well I lucked out because the spa I had the GC to took ownership of the med spa next door and started allowing the spa gift certificates to be used at the med spa. And the lady at the med spa was highly recommended from others and the botox was within $10 of the ls GC so I was pondering it. Then when I told Mike, I thought he would say "that is stupid, don't screw with that, its dangerous, etc" he was like, sure if you want to do it go for it. So the deal with done and I made the appt. haha I will keep you posted
I was pretty much the same weight today as last week (up .2lbs but whatever). I am cool with that since I ate and drank like crazy at Josie's party so maintaining was awesome. I finished S90 and I took pics but I didn't use the flash and that wasn't a good plan so I will be redoing the pic tomorrow. From what I can see, I basically look the same other than maybe a bit more definition in the stomach and arms. My right arm is looking killer but that is from carrying Josie around on it. I keep trying to use my left as much but it is so much weaker!! Once I get the new pics taken I will post some side by sides and see if I made any progress.
Going to try to get in my first CLX workout this weekend. If not Sat (since we crazy busy that day) then definitely Sunday. Very excited :happy:0 -
If the whole botox thing works...let me know! Given that apparently we share the same 'line', I'm interested to know if you are impressed with the results!! It does sound a little scary! But the lady seems knowledgeable. Hopefully it works well, last long, and gives a Plan B! I know I could use a Plan B!
How are you liking CLX? I saw you commented that it's very different. I'm glad we agree on that! Are you sore? How was Burn Circuit 2? Give me your thoughts! I had Burn Intervals last night. After having a morning run, it was hard to stick it out. The weights are only 5lbs but you do like 189 reps, I swear! My legs had had enough! I'll definitely need to foam roll tonight! i thought breaking up the 2 workouts made more sense, but I doubt I'll willingly do that again!!
I have to smack the scale because I logged a 'gain' after having been up for 2 weeks. The day after logging that gain and every day since then I've been back down to my 'normal for now' range. Really?! Log it and it disappears? WTH!? LoL Whatever though as long as it keeps moving down, I'm fine with it. I just have to suck it up and realize that with DH gone AM workouts are the only thing that works with being 'solo' parent all the time. And I have to remember that if I'm going to bother getting up at 5am, what's the point of overeating and wasting all that morning exercise!0 -
Hey if it is gone its gone! Don't ask questions just be happy the gain is down. Oh so far I can see the difference with the botox and it doesn't take full effect for 7-14 days. I don't hit 7 days until this Thursday. I will email you some very unfortunate pictures that shows you the difference I can see already. The line is getting softer but I am not able to make the scowl that causes the line so it should get fainter and fainter as time goes on. Just ignore the crazy faces. It is me trying really hard to make the scowl and almost busting a vein since I can't really do it. haha.
Yes as for CLX it is very different. I did Burn 1 on Sat and it was ok but I was having a hard time going slow enough. That and the moves just felt so awkward. But I was pleased that I had a decent burn even though I wasn't going into cardiac arrest like I can do with S90. My whole body was shaking though during those last 3 extreme slow push ups. So I was thinking I would be nice and sore on Sunday but no such luck. I was a little stuff in the back first thing Sunday morning but once I got moving it was all normal. Yesterday was a rest day which was good since I had to do some MAJOR Christmas shopping. Mike has Josie for the afternoon and I had to buy for my whole Christmas list. So I was kicking *kitten* and taking names and shopping like I never shopped before! So that was some rock star low intensity cardio right there.
Then today was burn 2 and I liked it better overall. I felt it alot more in my legs and I am glad we did hit the triceps and the biceps. To be honest I was afraid since this was geared more towards women there wouldn't be enough overall arm work but so far so good. I was going a lot better this time around with the pacing and some moves (like the squat with the overheard tricep extension) really was me hitting total failure. I was a total weenie and could not do the really slow tricep push ups. I had to go to my knees. I just must be really weak in the triceps since I have always had issues with tricep push up varieties. My burn was actually a bit lower than Sat which surprised me since I felt I worked harder in today and hit failure alot more but maybe that was it. I wasn't going as fast as I was for Burn 1 so I wasn't getting the same caloric burn. Who knows but it was still good for a weight training video.
I am hoping I am more sore tomorrow especially in the legs since I was feeling it A LOT in the moves today. Which made me happy. I like that she has more leg action than most videos but honestly I am torn on the compound moves. I like them in the fact that you can get two birds with one stone and you are able to do a lot more legs but I dislike that I can't seem to fatigue both upper and lower at the same rate. Basically I can't get enough of a lower body burn with the lighter weights that I have to use because my arms are not as strong. But I need to trust the process and keep the course.
The one thing I have noticed though (especially today) is that my hunger is out of control!! I don't think I have ever had it as bad as this. I had to crack out the emergency soup (which was 210 extra calories) and I am still hungry. I woke up this morning thinking I was going to kill someone I was so hungry. Lauren said she had the same thing happen with CLX and thinks it is because of the slow lifting really tearing down the muscle. That must be it since there is no other explanation. I mean the workout time is about the same as I have been used to. The burn is also about the same. My food intake is the same. There is really no other explanation. Did you have anything like this?
I am excited to try out her cardio tomorrow. I know she is going to kick my *kitten*. I am pretty weak on cardio and I am sure Chalene is all over the place. I am expecting a nice high burn tomorrow. Especially since it is going to be almost a solid hour when you add in the abs (and I need those ab moves, haha). I am missing my daily dose of abs on S90! I just hate how the add the abs on to the longest workout! haha. Oh well I will just have to get up 15 minutes earlier tomorrow morning to get it all in :grumble:
So, as I am sure you saw, I posted my S90 results. I can definitely see a difference in the stomach and I am pleased with that. Also do you like how pale I am in comparison to the pictures taken 3 months ago? I just don't get it. I see a difference in the pictures yet there was really no change in anything including body fat? How does that work? I don't get it. haha0 -
You were not exaggerating! You can DEFINITELY tell a difference already! That's awesome!! Sweet!! :drinker: Now I may have to ask for Botox for my birthday! My husband will give me one of those looks for sure! But knowing it works makes it worth it!
Excellent burn this morning. How was it? Weird to be using such a light weights? I like Chalene's energy. I don't know if I'd want to hang out with her 100% of the time- I'm not that peppy! But she sure is excited about weights and working out.  I had Burn Circuit 1 today, added a little extra legs in at the end because they continue to be the bane of my existence. Good old split squats baby!! I am having trouble walking! Love it!!
What about your soreness? Though Steve Troutman on here does tell us that soreness is not an indicator for a good workout, I do still appreciate feeling that aftermath as sort of a 'pat on the back' for a job well done!
I can't answer the hunger level thing right now since I'm all over the place. I couldn't tell you if it's hunger or poor limiting on my part for why I eat the Oreos at night! :blushing: :blushing: I'm trying to be better!!! It's not 10 Oreos but who really needs 3 at 8pm anyways?! Damn coupon and BOGO deal! :grumble: :grumble:
This whole message probably makes no sense because I started it at 830am and it's not 1115am and I'm still trying to wrap it up. Darn work keeps getting in the way!!
Tomorrow I'm back to Turbo Fire and Abs I believe. I couldn't believe how crappy my 'run' was Sunday morning. Regardless of how much cardio I do/do not do, unless it's actual running then my runs suck. I told my husband I could 5k it all day long but to actually bang out a good run on the treadmill-I suck at!! :laugh:0 -
Thanks. I know those pictures are horrid but it gives you the idea  I will let you know how it all looks after the full 14 days
Yeah it was good. I think it was too high (having issues with my HRM as it is time to wash the strap again) so I lowered it to 650. That is still good but more reasonable for me. When I am doing hardcore cardio and I get more than 10 calories a minute burned so 73 minutes at 650 would be about right with the abs and cool down mixed in. Yes the workout was definitely different. At first when she started with the 5lbs for bicep curls and the weak kickboxing moves, I was like this is going to suck!!! But then when we got into all the plyo and the squats and lunges I was huffing and puffing for sure! So I was pleased. And the first part of the abs were killing me too (those side pike things are killer).
So far so good. I am sore in weird places today so definitely I am hitting new muscles which is good. The outside of my shoulders and upper arms are sore and the outside of my butt is sore too. So that is nice  I do need a get a leg band though. I want that extra burn for my butt and thighs  I asked Santa for a set from walmart so we shall see if I have been naughty or nice
Yeah the hunger is out of control. I don't get it. The only thing that makes sense is the slow, slow lifting. But it is bad. Like wanting to chew my arm off hungry. And it isn't that "I want something but I am not really hungry" sort of hunger. It is the "my stomach is eating itself" and "I would eat anything right now even if it was on the floor" sort of hunger. Suddenly my intake is gone from 1500 to 1850 because I am so damn hungry! We will see where this goes. I am not optimistic but we will call in a mini bulk or a metabolic reset :laugh:0 -
I'm not sure I have tried burn circuit 3 ...how was that today? I had TF and a core workout, it was a tight squeeze time wise since I had to travel for work today and be dressed uber professional (is that a word...lol...). I barely squeaked it all in but it's back to clx tomorrow.
I forgot to tell you... I asked Dan for reebok adjustable weights for Christmas because big lots has them on sale for 20bucks a piece until Saturday. I know you are holding out for the real deal. I mentioned the selecttech to Dan and her reminded me how expensive they were so when we saw these we compromised. They are 5lb increments up to 25lbs. I figure even if I have to borrow from my dad past 25 90% of the time I can just pull these out and be good to go. Saves room and the kids aren't tripping on multiple sets since I store them in their toy closets.
I apologize if my grammar or typing is off. I'm on the iPad and I suck at virtual keyboards. It's been a long day of traveling for work and to get to my parents and back to get the kids. I am too whipped to walk the 30 feet to our main computer!!!0 -
I hear that! I was in bed at 8:30 last night. I was whipped, haha! Well today marks the end of the first week of CLX. That burn it off was no joke. I definitely made me feel like it was a tabata/insanity mix up haha. Hate those jump up on one legs thing! So that was good but for me recharge is just ok. I wish they cut some of it down and only had it be 10-15 minutes. I just felt like we hung around some moves too long. haha
For my week in review, I would say that Burn 2 was where I felt the most soreness. I think it was because I just haven't worked my legs or shoulders in that way before (getting the outsides of them). I am really looking forward to getting that thigh band so I can amp up my lower body work. Do you use one? That is the thing that I think I like the most about these workouts. That there is such a great focus on the lower body. I felt like S90 could have used a second leg. I love that we are working legs one way or the other in every workout in CLX. I am curious to see how the next two phases play out. I hear Push is no longer combo moves but it harder than Burn and then Lean is back to combo moves and it the hardest of them all  Bring it!!!
Not sure how the weigh in will go this week. I have increased my calories to around 1800 but I am trying to bring it down to more like 1600-1700 since I have been eating at 1500-1600 in the weeks since being sick with no issue. But since starting CLX I have just been SOOOO hungry I had to eat. That and starting a new program always leads to craziness on the scale
I am trying to decide whether or not to take photos at the 30 and 60 day marks. I have been just doing it at the end of each program so that I don't get discouraged, etc. But from the things I have read about CLX, since they really change it up every 30 days (versus just adding in an additional workout or 2) it is interesting to see how your body responses to each phase. We will see how I feel. I also love that it is only 5 days. That way I get an extra rest day if I don't have time or if I am feeling like I need recovery, or if I am feeling good I can throw in an extra workout like a KB or a Butt Bible work out I like that option.
Yeah I asked for the powerblock set after doing all my research. I like that selecttech was much more readily available (and thus easier to find on the second hand market) BUT I didn't like that I couldn't expand them and if I needed more than 50lbs I would have to get a whole different set. Because they are so limited in distribution, ****s Sporting Goods is the only major chain that carries them and they only carry the classic set. The classic set can only be expanded to 70lbs each hand. I was originally wanting the set that expanded to 90lbs per hand (they have some models that go to 125lb, can you imagine?) so Mike and I could both use them but they are just a big pain in the *kitten* to find. So I think I am getting this model which I am so cool with

Hell if I ever get strong enough to REALLY need something more than 70lb each hand I think it is time to go to a gym and start competing for something :laugh:0 -
I'm glad I'm not the only one who was super ready for bed last night! So much so that I slept in this morning and am opting for an after work email. Dan had a late game last night and after falling asleep on him Monday, I had to try and stick it out last night (even if it was half asleep on the couch when he got home!) So we stayed cuddled in bed with the deal of both getting afternoon workouts in. Not the best of plans but boy was it nice this AM. I got to sleep in, eat breakfast with the kids, and slow it down a bit which is not the normal routine!!!
I have never done the workout that you did today. I may have to sub a TF workout just to check it out. I'm interested now. It isn't on my calendar that I've seen. Maybe it is in month 2 but I haven't looked that far ahead! I do use the bands for the reason you've mentioned. Any extra leg work is FOR ME 100%. Mine came with TF because she uses it in those workouts too. I hadn't heard that about Push-though now that I think back on it, I have done 1 push workout and that would be accurate. Interesting to see what Lean will bring.
My weight has been slowly trending down (but hey...you never know what Friday will bring). Of course, I have still been riding up higher over the past few weeks anyways. So even if I have a loss, it's a reoccurring loss! I'll take it but I don't want to see it back even if it is the holiday season!!!
On the pictures front, I know...I haven't done it yet. I want to but I'll think of it BEFORE I work out and at that point I'm barely awake enough to find my glasses let alone a camera. And by the time I get done with the workout, I'm in too much of a mad dash to get anything other than myself in the shower. I should make Dan do it tonight. Does she give t-shirts or anything for completing CLX?
I hope you end up getting those powerblocks. They look like they are amazing. I'm pretty happy with the ones I got. Of course, they'll have to go under the tree and we'll pretend I haven't been using them! But the 1 workout that I've had them it was a nice change from going to bed the night before thinking about how annoying it will be pulling out all those weights and dragging them across the house to the living room!
Now it's time for more work craziness...holidays are out of control around here. And then of course back on Mom duty-you know all about it right?! Unfortunately, the magic house cleaning fairies didn't care that I was feeling lazy last night so that's on my to do too! Any bites on the house?0 -
So far no offers on the house and only 6 showings which makes me sad but I am sure that things are just slow because of the holidays. I am really hoping to picks back up in Jan and it only takes one right?
Congrats on the loss! That is awesome. I was up slightly but I am ok with it since I did increase my calories by almost 300 per day! That and starting CLX you never know that is going on. BF on the scale says the same so I will take it.
Love the extra legs in CLX and can't wait to get some bands!! I need that extra burn. I do see some progress in my legs though. Still need a lot of fat loss on the backs (cellulite city) but I am starting to see more separation in the quads when I am standing in the perfect lighting haha. So progress is progress right?
Tonight is Mike's Christmas party and then Sunday is our "Texas Christmas" which is basically Christmas with my family since we will be out of town with Mike's family this year for actual Christmas. There will be food and booze at both of these events so we will see how that all goes. I will keep my expectations low on weigh in and workout hard0 -
How was the Christmas parties? Our resulted in me eating everything...literally everything. It was completely out of control. No alcohol but had it been offered I would have gone off the deep end with that too! :grumble: So I totally deserved the +3lbs gain I saw this morning. Completely couldn't even b*tch about it...I deserved it!!!
I read your blog on CLX. I definitely understand your pros and cons. Especially given how much you loved S90 and the results you got with it. I hope this change up serves you well! I keep thinking I'm going to take pictures but then I do something like eat a weeks worth of calories and don't want to pose for a bloated 'before' picture!
I definitely am just going to have to go with maintenance mode. Stay with low calories and hard exercise throughout the week. Enjoy Christmas festivities on the weekend. Not to the point of gluttony like yesterday (eek!) but I'm fooling myself if I try to push into a round of the LP stuff right now. I want to but my head just isn't in it! Things have got to settle. I won't run away over the holidays and go crazy...but we'll stick with the consistency of exercise, wise choices, and trying to make indulgent but not out of control choices for the festivities!0 -
Sorry for being so late. I was out yesterday but still got in a good workout  So this weekend......um yeah. I too was so out of control. To the point of complete binging and making myself sick. It was all the Christmas sweets that I was powerless against!!! At the holiday party on Friday night I did great, until we got a bag of Harry and David chocolate cherries as a gift. Yeah I ate them all right then. So much for being good. Saturday wasn't awesome but wasn't horrific. I ended up snacking on some of the treats my mom was making for Sunday but I got a good workout in and everything else was fine. Then came Sunday. That was the day that was a total cluster so I am trying to forget that one and I was doing really well yesterday (back to the workout) and way under calories, only to have a binge on cherry sours that were in my stocking. UGGGGHHHH. Yeah so I haven't been on the scale yet since I know it can't be good. I will get on tomorrow and let you know how bad it it. haha Then we have our office Christmas lunch on tomorrow. So while I am sure I will not be crazy (since it is just a lunch) it will definitely not be helping me get back on track.
Then we go right into the holidays so it is going to be up for a while. Then I am going to get hard core on the LP come new years!!
I think I like Burn Circuit 2 the best out of the 3. It really seems to hit me in good places. Burn 1 just feels so awkward still with all the posterior flys. Even when I dropped the weight down I still felt like I wasn't hitting the right muscles. I will be doing Circuit 3 tomorrow and will then give my final thoughts :laugh:0 -
I hate those wide leg squats (I'm forgetting the name of them right now) with the tricep extensions. My hip flexors are so tight lately, I cannot seem to get into position for that. I have got to get stretched out woman...I look like a 90 year old woman trying to master that move! It's bad.
Yes, this weekend...well, it's over thank goodness. Saturday was a busy day, not bad. However, Sunday...I think I ate a batch of pumpkin cookies. Eek. Super bad. But like you, we have the holiday luncheon tomorrow too. I am hoping to make reasonable choices. I am making a Funfetti Cake Dip- it's just cake mix, yogurt, and cool whip. So got the lighter versions of the yogurt and cool whip with some low fat vanilla wafers. I've read on pinterest the dip is a hit, so I'm hoping it's a lighter version for those that don't want to over do it. We'll see...Of course, I have other plans for Christmas Eve when I'll be making those scrumptious pumpkin cookies to visit Dan's grandparents.
Chalene is getting my muscles nice and sore. I hope to work out those tight muscles tonight. I need to before I get my TF on! All those kicks require looser hips! :laugh:0 -
Yeah so I finally faced the music and I was up 4 pounds. Yep exactly 4 pounds. The scale hasn't been that high since maybe a year! Crazy. I know it is mostly the binge over the weekend but it is also hard to know if my body just can't deal with the higher calories that I have been eating overall since switching to CLX (about 1800). It is so hard to no second guess yourself when you are increasing calories intentionally and seeing a big jump on the scale. I know you know what I am saying. haha But I knew I would be up and I know next week will be bad but I have to just face the music. We will call it a crazy bulk and then I will hit LP hard after new years.
I was so excited I got a set of bands to use with the DVDs and of course in Circuit 3 they don't require the bands. haha Oh well I have then for when I need them
Random thought. Have you ever considered getting a fitbit or bodymedia type device? I wish you could just rent them for a few weeks in order the get a general idea of your TDEE then return it. I am so curious to know what I really do "burn" (as accurately as possible). I know some hard core people that have used them (not just people that have 60lbs or more to lose) but I don't know if it is worth it. Always looking to buy something right? :laugh:0 -
Ok so I finally got down to brass tax and figured my numbers for LP. Here we go:
BMR based from website given: 1416
TDEE based on activity level: 2195 (rounded to 2200 for simplicity sake)
30% deficit: 1540
35% deficit: 1430
40% deficit: 1320
Ok so there it is. That is lower than I am used to no doubt but honestly it is more the macros that I am worried about. Any suggestions on how to hit the numbers?0 -
Your numbers are pretty much dead on with mine. The first week was terrible hard because with those macros I found there's no two ways around prepping and planning. I ended up doing things like making lots of Jamie Eason Turkey muffins and instead of using them as meals like I typically do-they were snacks. So boring to eat 'meat balls' for a snack but it sure was working. Cutting down carbs isn't ever a real struggle as long as you like veggies. It's just getting that amount of protein while staying under your macros for everything else. If it was the turkey muffins, it was a lower carb protein bar or even my go to lunches turned go to snack of ground turkey and a veggie. Just a lot of planning over all. I'll have to look back at my diary. The kids are running around so doing anything productive isn't so possible!!
The lunch festivities went off okay. I ate more than I would normally but I didn't gorge myself and I only had the 1 helping. Then it was back to my office to avoid the kitchen. I made the funfetti dip and it tasted good. I worried the 'light' versions might alter the taste but nope. It was a hit.
I have considered the bodymedia. I think I ruled the fitbit out because the bodymedia does more?!? But again...concentrating at home isn't always feasible!!! Dan thinks I over do the fitness purchases so I never broached the subject. Plus I worried about concealing it during the work day. It seems pretty large. And the monthly fee. All those things made me 2nd guess purchasing it. I'm with you..if I could borrow it- I'd be all over it!0
