Thanks, I posted a couple of pics of Spain in my profile too!
I am just laying low and trying to get better. I am so tired, I get winded on a flight of stairs.
But, here's what my plan is this week, just trying to eat better. I don't think I am working out this week but next week I will start up with the sexy female workout for October, and start trying to eat more like the Jamie Eason plan. I know how hard it is for me to do diet AND exercise so I think it will be easier if I get started in advance.
This weekend is DH b-day and my sister is flying out and I have to spend my three day weekend cleaning out my grandpa's house.

Thanks, Reese, we did have a good time!
How's everyone over here doing? I ate pretty well yesterday. Just taking it easy and trying to get healthy. Next week I go back to the Sexy Female workout and stick to that for October. The next couple of weeks will be busy, catching up with friends and family.

Glad you're resting up Amy. I love that pic with the city behind you!! Where exactly did you go in Spain?

So I never checked in from last week. Here is the rundown:

    Log everyday - check
Stay close to or under cals - check 6/7, I went over by like 259 cals on Sunday
Same number or less Monday as Fri - Fail, but this morning, my number was back to Friday's number, so I'm hoping to break past this plateau this week!!

I upped may cals per Jamie Eason's plan, I will adjust should the scale move (crossing fingers). SO far so good except I'm having a hard time meeting my cal goals with eating cleaner food. Hope you all are having a good week so far!

We went to San Sebastian on the North coast, then Laguardia in the wine region, then Madrid.
The scale was pretty friendly to me this morning, considering everything. But I do think sometimes when you're not working out, I don't retain water as badly.
I have really been craving candy at night though. Unfortunately I bought movie candy last weekend, we saw Drive (it was really good), so I had hot tamales at the theater, then split the box of junior mints Monday night, then ate the remainder of the reeses pieces last night. I always do this after I click "finished logging for the day" like I am hiding from myself or something.
How's Jamie Eason's plan? Are you on Phase two now? I haven't really looked beyond Phase 1 but I'd like to hear about it so I know what to expect.

Jen- Looks like the Jamie plan should be awesome (assuming you can find enough clean foods to meet those goals- funny how that works?!)

Amy- Maybe it's because it's getting close to Halloween and all that stuff is in our faces a lot lately?! I know I had to beg my children not to ask me again to buy halloween candy yet. My littles ones, bless them, have the decent eating habits with most of their snacks being yogurt, string cheese, fruit, etc. But when you take a kiddo in Walmart and the first thing you see in the door is an enormous bag of Halloween candy- what do you think they ask for?! :noway:

I had a nice incentive that started this week. My little sister whose 2.5 years younger than I am started Insanity on Monday so she's also cleaning up her diet. It's awesome to be able to chat with her about stuff and it helps me not get complacent with myself. My eating habits have been pretty decent...we did have McDonald's after a football practice but I just got the kids meal with my 4 year old and took the toy home to my youngest. Worked out for everyone. LoL. Working out at home instead of the gym has been a transition to but it's going okay. Mixing it up with the DVDs. Thinking of incorporating yoga into the mix just because I seem to be steadily losing my flexibility and wouldn't it be nice  to have that back!! Any one ever tried it? I am definitely not into it but I thought it might be good to add maybe at night after a regular workout. Just thinking out loud.

I used to do yoga. I like it but I think I have become more ADD lately because I don't want to contemplate an hour of it. I think it helps that I went to a small class over 10 years ago and the instructor helped me to do the poses correctly so there is muscle memory, so I know what I am doing in a big class or with an on-demand video. Technically, the sexy female workout calls for 30 minutes of stretching on the rest day so I keep thinking I should do yoga but I have just been resting.

Amy - I LOVE San Sebastian!! And I used to visit my uncle in Madrid...how wonderful! On the eating thing, I know what you mean about eating after hitting "complete" I do that on the weekend only but then wonder why the scale says what it says when I step on it :ohwell:

So exercise wise, I'm not following Jamie's plan anymore. I am doing more of 1 day heavy lifting, 1 day total body circuit training, then one day lighter weight, higher reps. I have at least 4 days of cardio and 1 rest day. I may take a look at it and see what she has planned.

The eating has been fabulous (with the exception of dinner Sunday). I can tell a big difference in my abs already, I'm hoping to get back to where I was this summer. THe scale not so much, but as long as I see some type of progress. That damn scale likes 11 for some reason!!! I haven't seen that 110.6 in like over 4 weeks and it is just a thorn in my side!! We;ll see what this week brings I guess.

Reese, it is soooo hard to get in those calories!!! I am not meeting that part, sigh. How about you, how are you doing with it? Very nice that you have your sister to chat with about it. My sister just moved back to town and I wish she would get in on the fitness bandwagon. You are lucky!!

Oops, I've been MIA for the week!

Amy - if I ever eat after I hit complete I make myself go back on and add to the entry, that way I don't let myself get away with it!

Reese - That's awesome that you can talk with your sister!! My sister is against exercise pretty much and eats a big bowl of penne pasta with ragu traditional 5-6x a week for dinner (and she's still thin!).. she thinks I'm crazy for going to work out the amount I do! So you should feel lucky to have a sister to do that with!

Jen - That work out plan seems good! I hope it works out for you :) That's definitely awesome that you can feel the difference in your abs too, I can't wait for mine to tone up!

I've been doing okay with my goals. My eating has been up and down, I was kind of low yesterday, but I always feel like I've eaten way more calories than MFP gives me! I've still been doing planks, although I didn't during the weekend, I want to change that though and do them even when I'm staying with my bf! I'm hoping to lose 3 lbs by Halloween... I know that's a lot (esp for me I think?) but I want it so bad!!

yeah, I have been going over a little before I log and I like to hit complete to see if I would still weigh less in 5 weeks. It's a sickness:tongue: I should go back and log the calories after the fact. I realize I did include them last night.

Morning all. Switching to night workouts has helped me stay on track. Something whether it's the weather or the new schedule has made getting up at 5am to workout more difficult. But I'm getting it done at night. Eating has been within calories, not necessary 100% great foods but staying within calories. Gotta try to get in that yoga tonight, mentally I want to give it a whirl but physically I'm sure I'm going to be bored.

It's good for us to make our minds be still:wink:
I was feeling better but got a runny nose again last night, I wonder if it is allergies? My social calendar is filling up for next week so I need to try and be diligent about getting back into my workout routine. I am going to get all of my gym clothes clean and bundled, and if I get into work a little early I can leave a little early and then it should be easy to workout before my social engagements.
This weekend is not going to be fun-I am going to my deceased grandpa's house with my sister to clean it out. He left it to us, but it is full of many generations of stuff and a daunting task!
I hope all of you have a more enjoyable weekend!

So is this the new NTHG thread? I think it's beyond 2 weeks!

Asjerven, sorry to hear about your grandpa, hope it goes well

This miscarriage weight is sticking to me like no one's business, and I have been good with calories and exercise! Talk about adding insult to injury :frown: Wondering if I need to do something drastic to get back down where I was?

that does suck, but maybe it is stress? Maybe it is hormones? Maybe something drastic-like taking a break? I don't want you to get frustrated, but don't be too hard on yourself either!
This is definitely more than a 2 week challenge. We still have the NTHG original thread too, it jumped for the fifth time!

    So.
    Busy.

    :(

Keep it up, ladies! I'm going to try to log over my trip to Chicago but probably won't be on the boards this week.

Have fun in Chicago! Weekend was hard, I am thinking of going back to 30DS for the month of October, just because it is easier/more convenient not to leave my house!

    Have fun in Chicago Chuisle!!

I was able to avoid food at Oktoberfest this weekend, but I did do a bit of drinking! My calories were not quite in check, and I didn't even log! I'm still trying to keep up with the planks, but sometimes I do forget... I'll keep trying though!! I'm not sure what my goals should be right now..

I saw 107.2 on the scale early this weekend!! up to 109 by the end, but 107 was on my logging date.

I found my Halloween costume! http://www.spirithalloween.com/product/In-the-Line-of-Duty-Adult-Womens-Costume/ nothing to risque, but still fun! :)

Love the costume. Shannon, or should I say, Sexy Cop;)
I have decided to 30 DS. I will take occassional days off, but the plan is every day, 10 days on each level. I think I am going to bump cals up to maintenance but not log the exercise calories, so will get the deficiency through exercise.
I am just feeling a little tired of Sexy Female and getting myself to the gym. At the same time, maybe it will be that much harder to do Jamie Eason next month! Does everyone here workout at the gym, or more home workouts?

I wonder if you'll get different results with 30 DS the second time around, I'll be interested to hear about that!! I think that sounds like a good plan though! I'm sure switching it around will make a difference!

I do more work outs at the "gym" (the Jazzercise place) I usually can't find the motivation or the approval from the parents at home!! My old roommate just got p90x though, so I might try to do that a couple times with her!!

got another groupon for the boudoir pics so that will be my reward, maybe in February after the Jamie Eason plan.
I wonder how it will go. You know I did 30DS about a year and a half ago, and I think I got stronger but I didn't see much other change. Maybe I should take measurements this time!

Shander, love sexy cop!!! Cant wait to see pics.

Kate, enjoy Chicago!! I love Chi town!

Amy, sounds like a good plan and YES!!! Take those measurements and before pics. We always take a trip in February, which is great because it keeps me "good" over the holidays. Except this past February, I went to Mexico fat and happy, lol!! Not this year though!! I'm gonna be "good"!!! So to schedule your pics for Feb, that's a good plan!!

I like to work out at the gym. I don't feel I work out as hard at home, no matter what exercise it is. Plus it's "me" time. If I work out at home, I'm constantly interrupted.

Nothing new to report here  lol

Lol, thanks Amy!!! This pic kind of sums up my personality  But yes...you need to get measurements and take pics!! I remember you saying you wish you had last time!! Get on that girl!! (insert shaking finger emoticon) lol!!

Yeah, I've done a few of JM's workouts, she kicks mys *kitten*, I don't like, it, lol!!!! I should do some of her stuff for a change. I k now I need a change!

I'm having a bad eating day, my diary is aweful today! Oh well, I will do better tomorrow!!

    Hope everyone is doing well!!!

Started calorie cycling over the weekend. More so to allow for the variance in my eating when I'm not at home...higher days are (you guess it!) days I'm at my parents consistently and lower days tend to be earlier in the week when I'm typically right on par. I figured having some numbers might assist with getting focused in the diet section of this journey! So we'll see..give it 2 weeks and assess. Regardless of whether I do everything right or everything wrong, the scale doesn't move. So I might as well have myself a little experiment.

I was plotting when to start the Jamie Eason plan and I am thinking maybe after Thanksgiving, then the most lenient phase is first with the strictest in February. I think I could do that easier.
I would like to start slowly incorporating her plan, so I think I need a two week challenge, while I am doing 30 DS, a nutrition challenge that will help me phase in her eating plan.
Any suggestions? Maybe the no carbs after 7pm?
  • shander7
    shander7 Posts: 613 Member
Amy - that seems like a good time to start the Jamie Eason plan, that way you get to enjoy Thanksgiving.. just make sure it won't interfere too much with the holidays!! The no carbs after 7 also sounds like a good challenge.. or maybe you can do only veggies after 7 or no junk after 7? I'm not sure what her plan is, so that might not work :P

Reese - That sounds like a good way to zig zag :) I think I'm unknowingly doing that already! Just experiment and see what works, I definitely think of my body as one big experiment!!

So far I'm on my way to getting close to my goal of 3 lbs by Halloween! I got on the scale Saturday and it said I lost another .8 lbs bringing me down to 106.4 :) As long as I can see 105. something by Halloween I will be a VERY happy girl and consider that goal a success!! I ate like I had a hollow leg yesterday, but I don't mind too much because I've had some very low days and my body felt like it needed the extra nutrients. I will hopefully jazz 3 days this week and will continue to do planks. I also got an iphone this weekend (yey!) and found an abs workouts app that I'm going to try and do the days I don't jazz, or possibly everyday if I'm up to it!
